9/24/09 3 Day Wonder - Cruise Meets, and FEs, and Goombays oh my!

well i'm now officially done (apart from packing) as i got my holiday money changed today!! and i got a better rate than i was expecting too!! and we'll be in atlanta airport this time in a week. time to dance


i've cancelled the second ohanas dinner reservation as it looks like its just going to be the 8 of us, no one else has gotten back to me about it. well actually i've managed to give the reservation to another dis-ser through the ADR wanted thread. its nice to be able to help someone on here out instead of releasing the reservation back into the strange void that is the disney dining reservation system!!

jeny i'm flicking through the music channels right now, on VH1 (UK) its NKOTB top 50 american all stars! it made me think of you! there's clips of NKOTB on between the songs!

mary i loved breaking dawn mainly b/c everything gets tied up. since i was listening to it on audio book i finished it in one day (im such a DORK!!)
Ok i know the ME tags are supposed to be yellow i think but right now we just have the cruise ones they have the POLY on them but i am hoping that they send the ME ones the blue ones are not as easy to spot those bright yellow ones are.
My spray tan turned out good and since my bruises are going away they are at the yellow stage so they almost blend in and my legs look soo much better i dont glow in the dark WOOHOO!!!
i cant believe 2 weeks from now i will be married and getting ready to leave the reception.
Greg and I are looking forward to the EMH at EPCOT after Jellyrolls and all of the meets and finaly getting to meet our Goombay Buddies!!! My goombay fun will be starting the thursday before the wedding (batchlorrette party) we are all going out to eat then back to my house to watch bridesmaids, 27 dresses and maid of honor and drink GOOMBAYS!!!

Got our documents yesterday but my daughter who we added a couple of weeks ago was not included in the documents....but she is on the reservation on the web site so we are not worried....surprise for my wife that she is coming....
Two weeks from now we will be heading for the airport.

Greetings from San Francisco! So I just finished an 80 hour work week and I m exhausted! I called home to ask if our documents came only to find that they have not. Just as Bob and I were about to hang up Voni called Kelly on her cellphone and told her that she got a package addressed to me at her address, I am guessing that is all the cruise documents. This week has been so long that I was telling anyone who would listen to me that I am leaving for Orlando in 17 days, I wish it was tomorrow!

Well, I am going head off to bed...check in with all of you in the morning!

How could NKOTB possibly make you think of me? I was going through my camera last night and on my current memory card, I have about 450 pics taken. 300 of them and about 6 videos are from NKOTB concerts. I need to upload those. I can't wait til I have a new computer! I bought a couple memory cards at Best Buy last week, they were 2 for 20. I get about 800 pictures on each. Joe said he can't imagine me possibly taking that many pictures...we'll see!

2 weeks. 2 weeks from today and I will most likely be checking into the WL around this time. I don't think it's hit me yet how close this trip is. I think it will while I'm on the Universal fam. Disney will be right down the road!

I wish I would have known about the ADR tread before! I cancelled like 3 different reservations. I would have put them on there! I should have looked through the DIS first...

my new camera takes either XD cards or micro sd cards. my new cell phone (well the one i cant use at the mo because it went through the washing machine ) came with an 8gb micro sd card. gary had a spare 2gb card from a phone he hasnt got anymore,. and i bought a 2gb XD card - my camera does panoramic photos but only with the XD card.
so i've got 12gb of memory....... gives me a challenge! last year i took about 2000 photos, it took 7gb of memory for all the photos.

i'm not sure if you guys have the same over there, but its kinda a tradition over here to have a roast dinner on a sunday. well everyone on my facebook has been going on all day about either having a roast, had a roast, or cooking a roast. it was making me want one.
gary's up in scotland, so i've made a roast for one. just me! i've got roast chicken, and i've just got it out the oven, so about to eat my yummy roast!

I have two 2gb cards and whatever is left on my current memory card. I think it's a little over 100 pictures. I came nowhere close to taking 2000 pictures on our last trip! I didn't even come close to 1000! But that was before the DIS. Plus, I'm staying in hotels I've never even seen up close and DCL will be a completely new experience...plus throw in all of you fellow DISers...I'm sure I'll be snapping a lot of pictures! And some video.

the roast was soooo good! really enjoyed it

the 2000 photos was on a 3 week long trip, so they were spread out over a long time! then again i think i took 1000 of them within the first 5 days or something......

i've been looking at flights to spain for next year, my parents own a house over there and live there for about 7 months a year. i've been there at least once a year for the past few years but due to work and stuff gary hasnt been for the past 3 years.
well we're not having any big holidays next year because we all need to save up for dad's 70th birthday in 2011 (we're trying to all go back to see his family in singapore), so me and gary agreed on trying to get over to spain a couple of times. will probably try and go once before mum and dad fly out there for summer, and once while they're over there.
i've priced flights up from london to alicante, and in march its working out to be £97 (about $150) for the 2 of us!! bargain! i'm going to have a chat with gary about it, and find out roughly when mum and dad are planning to go back (i want to go as late as possible before they go - its still cold over there if you go too early in the year), and then i might book it tomorrow or in the next few days.

This will be our 4th Disney Cruise in a year. Getting really excited. We are a family of 4. DS5 DD3. We should have FE - will be in room 5520 (Secret Porthole Room).

Is there a list of other cruisers? Room numbers? Meet up point/time? Etc. Thanks

welcome to our friendly (and very chatty!!) cruise meet thread!!

my name is karen and i'm cruising with my DH gary, we're from the UK and this is our second cruise. i'm sure everyone else will pop by soon and say hi!

we've got a FE exchange going on, the details are on page 1, however please be aware that our agreed cut off date was august 24th, it is still possible to join in but you may not receive gifts off every participant. please let me know if you would like to join in ASAP as i'm organising it, but i leave on friday!
we've also got a couple of meets arranged (both pre cruise and on the cruise). details are on the front page too we've got a pre cruise night at jellyrolls on the boardwalk on the 23rd, and a meet up on embarkation day on deck 10.

if you want to join in you can, but there's a possibility that you might not get gifts off every room. a lot of us were making personalised gifts so thats why we decided on the cut off date, it gave people time to get final numbers then finish their projects.
let us know if you do want to join in

there's a load of us meeting up on deck 10 at the outlook bar, overlooking the goofy pool, at 2.30pm on embarkation day, before the lifeboat drill. you should come say hi!

4th cruise in a year?!! wow, i'm jealous! thats the problem with living in the UK, we're sooooo far away, and when the ships do come to us, they're on special itineraries, so it costs a fortune!

for ohanas on the 21st, mary's got the reservation for 8.20pm. where/when are we meeting? i was thinking maybe the bar next to ohanas at about 8pm ish? is that ok with everyone?

for jellyrolls, did we all decide on 8pm? again should we meet inside, by the bar (there's a recurring theme going on here...) at 8pm?

for the cruise meet itself, thats on embarkation day at 2.30pm on deck 10 next to the outlook bar, overlooking the goofy pool. if its raining, should we arrange a back up just in case? i was thinking the promenade lounge sounds a good alternative.


is that ok with everyone? from friday morning onwards, i'm going to have very limited (if any) internet access so if anything changes i'm going to have trouble finding out about it!

I am trying to get everything done today, but it seems like vacation is coming up really quick now!! I made the t-shirts for myself, DMil and DSis-il today, they turned out cute!! I still have to finish up the FEs though, gotta get on that!! We're going out looking for halloween costumes today for my DSis and I to go to MNSSHP.

its come up really quick for me too, i leave on friday, i went shopping today and got a few bits and pieces i needed to get (cool bag to bring beer on the ship is the main one!) so i think i'm pretty much done with the shopping, but i havent even thought about packing yet. gary left out a pile of clothes he wants to take before he left for glasgow, but i havent thought about what i'm packing yet.

I haven't had time to "drop by" very much this week, but I just wanted to jump in and say that I'm excited, too! We are actually flying down the morning of the cruise (just coming from ATL so it's a short flight)--can you believe that it's two weeks from this Thursday?

My son and I were just watching some YouTube videos of cruise things this morning--it got us both really excited!
