Hello fellow cruisers....we got our stateroom also....1072....on deck one....checked the stateroom reports and they are all positive so we are kind of happy....at least it will be nice and quiet and it is midship.....this is our bounceback so for $99 bucks each...we will take it....and a little update...our DD will be joining us.....I have to add her to the reservation tomorrow...so she will be coming down on Tuesday....doing the Halloween party that night and then Thursday it is off to the WONDERful cruise....life is good! The best part is we are not telling my wife she is coming...so it will be a complete surprise!

I am thinking of buying this camera:

PinkCamera.jpg

What do you think? It's waterproof, so we could use it for snorkeling. Plus, it's just nice to use at the waterpark or if its raining or whatever. And, as an added bonus, its pink!! LOL!!

Well we're on the road up to Scotland at the mo, the dog is asleep in the back of the car, still got about 6 hours to go but should get up there by dinner time :-)
great news that we've all got our room assignments now and that we're all happy with what we've got. Yay for Disney!
I'm going to do a map for people in the FE so its easier to find the rooms. Can you all pm me your email addresses if you want me to forward you a copy.
things seem all the more closer now that we've got rooms!
Donna, its cool that we're on the same deck, I've bought bob some more jelly babies as a thanks for making us the FE so at least i won't have to carry them around the whole ship!

We are so incredibly excited now. 5 weeks from today at this time we'll be heading towards the port! CAN'T WAIT!

I'm making my gifts this weekend. I'm not sure if I'll make a FE for our fish, though...I'll see.

Thanks for all the welcomes! You guys are a chatty group--I'll have to check in more often to keep up with what's going on!

We got our Stateroom when we booked--I went through some of the Stateroom reports and saw what was available (we're in a Cat. 11) and chose a room based on what was available that had a good report (or at least no negative reports). So, we're in room 6633.

But, I've read that there are sometimes upgrades available for purchase when you check in at the port, so I'm open to doing that if there was something good for a good price--I think it would be cool to have a porthole, but having never been on a cruise, we weren't sure it was worth the $400 or so that was the diff. b/w a Cat. 9 and 11 (don't remember the exact amount but I think it was around that much $). So, we'll see!

I'll have to read some more about the FE to figure out what we need to do in that area! I told my husband that people do magnets on their doors sometimes, and he was like, "I don't care if we have magnets on our door, but whatever you want to do is fine with me, honey." He humors my obsessive nature in general, and my Disney obsession in particular. :rotfl:

I have a cat 11 too, Erica, one deck above you! I don't spend any time in my room at all except for sleeping and showering so it didn't matter to us if we had a porthole. On a longer cruise, I'll get a balcony one of these days!

I'm Jen and I'm an obsessive resort switcher. :rotfl: This is the 4th time I've switched our resort for the last two nights of our stay! :lmao: It made sense though. I really wanted to check out Stormalong Bay. Plus, Joe has never stayed there and has always wanted to. And since we're planning on going to F&WF one of those days, why not be within walking distance of Epcot? I plan on spending the day we get off the ship at Stormalong Bay and Typhoon Lagoon. :cool2: Doesn't get any better than that!

Mary, I like that camera!!

hi from Glasgow everyone!
its great that we now all know our room numbers, hi erica from another deck 6 person!
i took cerby out for a walk when we got here, he'd been in the car trunk for 8 hours so needed a run down the park. It was fine on the way out then absolutely chucked it down with rain. Proper torrential rain, i was walking around in crop trousers and flip flops as it was really hot and sunny when we left home. Well walking round in short trousers and flip flops in the rain, kinda reminded me of Florida! Was soaking by the time i got back to the house!

yeah with a LOT of imagination it could have been orlando!! i know where i'd rather be though!
i'm going to go ape tomorrow, its one of those high rope places,
www.goape.co.uk i'm going to the aberfoyle one, i cant wait, its got the UKs longest zip wire, garys got a meeting in glasgow so i'm off up there while he's doing that, i cant wait! i'm planning on taking my camera so i'll bring photos back!

well Gary's a bit of a chicken so he wouldn't come with me, but i really wanted to go so he paid for it for me as part of my birthday present. Plus it gives me something to do while he's in his meeting.

Hello all fellow 9/24 cruisers....we got our stateroom....check....so my daughter decided she would like to join us on the cruise....I checked last month about adding her to the reservation but she could not commit since she was not sure she could get off work....so she finally gets the OK. Yesterday, I called DCL to add her to the reservation...and they say, yes, you can add h er but she is $199 for the cruise. We are booked on the bounceback offer and it should be $99 plus taxes....so got to speak to the supervisor....she says the same but will get back to me....calls me back in the afternoon and DCL will make an exception for her and only charge the $99. The reason I checked in July was to make sure we could add her at the $99...supervisor said I was given wrong information but they will do the right thing.....it seems like every reservation I make always turns out to be a challenge....but we did get an upgrade although it is on deck 1....
We are surprising my DW with my DD coming.....so it should be fun if I can pull it off......
See ya all real soon.....great to see everyone got their staterooms....
Tom:cool1:

I get the feeling that when I call Disney (and I have to a lot being a TA), about half of the CMs have no idea what they're talking about. :confused3 At least they're honoring what they originally told you! That's going to be a great surprise for your DW!

You are 100% right. You do get cast members who are right on....but you get some that give you totally wrong information..so sometimes I will call back and ask the same questions with another cast member just to compare....and the supervisors generally just parrot what the origional cast member said.....then.....if you persist they will always get off the phone with you....and then get back to you.:cool1:

I've done the whole calling back and speaking with another cast member thing more times than I can count! The best is when the CMs argue with me, telling me that a certain price or package doesn't exist, when it came up through the TA website just fine. :sad2:

i'm an idiot. i got back from the go ape place and put my pants in the wash with my nice new touch screen mobile in the pocket. its not working now :(
(but did have a great time!!)
the annoying thing is that i'm due to meet a friend in glasgow tomorrow and i cant get hold of her to finish arranging a time etc as all my numbers are stored in the phone, not the sim card...

I saw your status on facebook! That sucks! Take the battery out, wipe it down, and let it dry out for awhile and try it again later.

So happy you guys got your room assignments! :yay:

I like Captain Morgan, Lainey. Better than other rums. Maybe I'll have to try one with and one without! :rotfl:

So Karen, speaking of planning obsessively...I just changed my AKV stay to BCV. Same price. The pool sold me. :rolleyes1

You changed? How did you do that? Are you using DVC? I just received our magical express passes for both hotel reservations. I still need to cancel one of them. :rotfl:

.... and tomorrow we pick up our 5 day passes  We're visiting one of our sons in Augusta, Georgia for Labor Day weekend. Never been there, any ideas? We're staying one night in Savannah so we want to do the ghost tour one night and civil war tour the next. :surfweb:
