FE: sure, I'm game. What do I have to do? I've never participated before. I know I need the FE for my door (well, fish thing) and I need to make X amount of what I create/give out for everyone but where's the list? Or is there no list? Or there's a participation list but what we create is a surprise? Is it supposed to be representative of the city we live in? B/c I live in Orlando so I don't think finding an "icon" to represent that would be too hard! LOL.

Karen had the list of people who are game for participating. I think pretty much everyone on the thread is interested but we may get more as the cruise gets closer. So far it looks like about 6 or 7 cabins/families? You can make/buy whatever you want. Its little gifts, it doesn't need to be extravagant. The fun is seeing the goodies when you get back to your cabin. It looks like most of us are keeping whatever we're doing a surprise. It doesn't have to be representative of the city. It can be whatever you want! Disney/pirate/cruise/tropical related, whatever! You can do a search for FE on the DIS, there's a whole bunch of threads dedicated to them. As for buying the FE itself, they have a bunch on Ebay!

We should eventually make a list of our names/usernames and cabin numbers so we all know who's participating.

I'll def. be making my own fish extender! I'm into arts and crafts, big time.

Hey Gary i'm lainey i'm glad to see you are on the boards and i am looking forward to getting to meet karen and you in person. I'm so happy that we were all able to sit together it is going to be so much nicer to know the people you are sitting with and we all seem to get along well.

Karen- I hope you are feeling at least a little better. I am I finally stopped sneezing
Jen- it looks like i will be going to see Monsters vs. Aliens thursday it is my lil brothers bday so my mom is keeping him out of day care and we are taking him to the movies and i thought that would be a good one for him to see.

Hi Gary!! You are brave posting in a thread full of women, LOL! I tried to get Tim (my husband) to come one here, but no luck. Maybe someday. I like your idea for the bar, but I agree that it is probably against Disney rules!! Too bad!!

Lainey, I saw Monsters vs. Aliens last weekend with my Neice. We got to see it in 3-D. It was pretty cute, lots of jokes that were geared towards adults. Not like American Pie jokes, just that kids wouldn't understand.

We are pretty close to having a functional shower. The drill bit that they were using to put up the doors tonight wouldn't go through the tile (which is odd since they were drill bits made for tile...) but we got some that would. So YEA to not having to drive across town for a shower every day soon!!

I saw an adorable FE on Ebay that I'm going to buy next week. Nothing like preparing yourself ahead of time, right? It's only up til 4/28 and I don't want it to disappear and never find it again.

Hi Karen! Thanks for the welcome. I envy your plans for a long holiday, but I suppose when you're coming such a far distance you have to make it worth your time! I have been to the UK and loved it. Coincidentally, in order to get my husband to agree to this cruise, I had to promise to start saving for a trip to Wales and England (probably just London) sans children in a few years. I am always game for travel so it didn't take much convincing!

Hi Jen, thanks for the welcome! I saw NKOTB in your title and immediately liked you. I spent my middle school years obsessing, going to concerts, chasing tour busses, covering my walls in posters! I lived in Orlando at the time and somehow even got in to see them perform at Pleasure Island once. I think they were taping a TV performance? Anyway, nice to "meet" you!

Disney Honeymooner, we are nearly neighbors! I live close to Cartersville.

I hope I haven't missed anyone but I appreciate all the nice greetings. I'm glad to be traveling with family and kids but your drinking plans make me long for an adults-only cruise in the near future. lol I am totally looking forward to the Drink of the Day specials, though.

Regarding the fish extenders, I spoke to my brother and he wants to make gifts, so 2 of our cabins will participate. I have a few ideas for our gifts and am going to do some trial runs this weekend!

If I am slow to respond to anyone, I apologize! I work nights and can't always keep up with all the posts, but I am happy to have found such a friendly group!

Welcome to the board Duchess we sure are pretty close i live in Dallas just west of Atl. My name is Lainey and this will be my 2nd disney cruise but it will be my DFi first cruise and his first time on a plane but at least the flight from ATL ot ORL. is only about an hour so he wont have to be in the air that long.

Jen- as far as i know our movie theater doesn't have it in 3-d but i could be wrong

i'm still feeling ill, i dont often get colds this bad but at least i've got a shorter week at work, so only gotta suffer through 2 more days. lainey, glad you're feeling better though

so as for the FE exchange, correct me if i'm leaving anyone out, we've got:

so far we've got 9 rooms participating

(been keeping a list on my computer so i dont miss anyone out)

bear in mind that we're still 5 and a half months out, and we'll inevitably get more people joining in as we get closer to the time.
i dont mind organising the exchange, i did it last time for our cruise and did maps for everyone to show where the rooms are. last time we had a cut off date for joining of about 3-4 weeks out, as it gave people time to finish making/shopping for gifts.
is this ok with everyone? i just dont want any late comers to this thread being left out if they want to join in, the more the merrier!!!

Yay, a fellow blockhead! I've loved the NKOTB for 20 years. My fave was and still is Joey. I've gone to see them 3 times on this current tour and the 4th is coming up in June! You would think I'd be sick of it but no way! I need to milk this reunion for all it's worth.

i'm still full of cold, i dont normally have this much of a cold for this long, its getting annoying now!! (when i normally get a cold, i'm really bad for a day or so then i've just got the tail end of it for a few days). i'm just hoping i get rid of it for the bank holiday weekend.
i'm sure futuredis will come back closer to the time. given that this thread is so active now and we're still over 5 months out, i'm sure we'll get loads more people closer to the time!! wouldnt be surprised if we'll need to do a cruise meet thread part 2!!
