i've just read my contract, i have to give a months notice which sucks, i thought it'd be less, but i have to leave on a good note as the person i'd be going to work for is a concessionee on the park, so i'd still technically be working on the theme park, just not directly for them.

yeah i know, and its not going to be a pleasant month. i get the idea that i'm going to be made miserable. thats if they dont kick me out.....

Karen - I am so sorry about work. I know how it is when you are miserable at work. The job I had before the one I am at now, I was the administrative assistant to the President and Vice-President of the company...and they were brothers. They were demanding and could turn on you in a moments notice...still they were nothing compared to their wives, who had me arrange their shopping trips to San Francisco, New York or wherever they felt like going in their private jet. I really tried to like that job, but no matter what I did it was never enough. I left after a year because I just couldn't take it anymore. I feel for you, sometimes it can take just one person at work to mess up things for you.

By any chance did anyone else here go a little overboard with FE gifts for the kids? I am trying to figure out how to fit some of the stuff I got into the gift bags. My thought now is to pick up some of those recycled tote bags and give each one of the kids a gift bag just on the first day....there would be enough in each bag to keep them busy the entire cruise. Downside to that would be the adults getting a bag every day...so I am wondering if the kids would have "bag envy"

Karen -- how was your day? Did you end up quitting? Hopefully it was alright. My work is really quiet today. With the holiday this weekend, lots of people are off today & Monday. I'm looking forward to some quiet tomorrow and Saturday with Tim in Michigan, so that I can study. We'll see how that goes!!

It's been busy here this morning. It's very quiet now. We're supposed to be having a BBQ and it's not raining, but cloudy, so I'm guessing the whole thing is being moved indoors. Lame.

well yeah i'm going to be unemployed in a month!! i gave my notice in this morning.
i put my notice on my boss's desk when i got in at 9am, turned my computer on and had an email from her which was not much off a written warning. glad i resigned as from that email i got the idea that i was jumping before i get pushed.
it was 1.15 before she even acknowledged the fact that i'd even resigned. she called me in and asked why i'd come to that decision. i still want to be able to work on the park so i was being diplomatic and said that i felt i was doing my best and it obviously wasnt the way she wanted it done, so i'd rather bow out and let her get someone else in who'd be able to do better for the company.
first of all she totally denied saying to me that she thought i was sitting around all day doing nothing, then asked if i had a problem with my supervisor, i just said that i felt left out, they never try and involve me and chris in their conversations and they dont seem to involve our end of the office in anything.
i've gotta work til the end of the month, but she says if i need time off to go for interviews i can.

i'm glad i did it, i wasnt 100% sure last night but as soon as i got in i know i made the right decision

Karen -- I hope everything works out for you! It will be better than being at a job you aren't happy with. Before I switched departments here last year, I was miserable at my old position. We got a new director after the old one retired, and he was a horrible mean person. I wanted to quit almost every day...so I moved to the Tax Department, and most of the time I love it!! I'm sure it will be fine.

Karen im sorry about work but leaving a job you hate is better than staying there and being treated badly everyday and not being happy there.
jen what is a land shark? sounds like a jimmy buffett drink LOL. We do sound like we need AA but atleast we are together and we will have fun but its disney so all you have to do is show up and it is fun. Jen i am with you about getting the Lapu Lapu and i will be teaching quite a few disney bar tenders how to make goombay smash. My whole family is coming over saturday i have to work but i only have to go in for 4 hours and most everyone wont be here til 4 pm so i will be back home by then i dont have to worry about anyone getting hurt shooting off the fireworks since the only good ones are considered illegal and you have to go to TN, FL, or AL to buy them we have giant SPARKLERS!!!!!!!!!
well the house is coming along next on our to do list is the floors woohoo!! Oh i almost forgot Star is HOME!!! he is back to his normal self other than missing his under coat of hair which in this heat is great for him but he is back to chewing up everything and now he wont stay away from me i guess he is trying to thank me for taking him to the vet and coming to get him he is sweet and i am really glad he is better.
