9/19/09 Western Magic

Now that is my kind of cruise! I love that whole idea of The Champagne Girls!

We did have a lot of fun and vowed to remain Champagne Girls Forever! I still have my tiara.

So now we may become the M.T.P group?
Mickey's

P.I.R.A.T.E.S.

I wish you were going with us to Disneyland as well! It is the last bang:wizard: before going back to school--hint----hint...:upsidedow

:cutie:

:offtopic: Do any of you dress up for formal night, and if so, how much? Do you go all out with the fancy dress and tuxes or just a simple dress? :confused3 I found a dress that I LOVE and have almost convinced myself I'd love to wear on formal night, but I'm afraid I might be over-doing it a bit... What do you all think? ;)

DH John and I LOVE getting dressed up for formal, semi-formal, pirates, tropical, mexican....whatever themed and formal nights they have, we get dressed up for it. It makes it so much more fun and festive for us.

Not everyone likes to though and it's okay to go either way.

I just stopped by to stalk MellissaE 1...i know where you live hehehehehe

Hey Pam -- LMBO, really and truly. :lmao: I haven't shared that particular story on this thread yet, so thanks for the opening! (Pssst... guys who actually belong on my thread... you can accumulate stalkers even on someplace as benign as the DIS boards.) Let me tell you all a story...

A DIS'er asked a question in a thread about resident rates. Since I happen to also be a resident, I replied, but since I wanted to direct her to another travel-related website, I PM'd. (Whispering to my peeps: Be careful who you PM!). Anyway, we PM'd back and forth, discussing that we both lived near each other on the Panhandle. Then I mentioned in an aside (can you believe I wandered off topic? Me either) that we moved here from California. Went something like this...

My PM: "When we moved here from CA..."
Her PM: "CA? Really? Grew up in West Covina, you know it?
My PM: "NO WAY! I grew up there! Ever hear of Woodside Village?
Her PM: "You're kidding! My best friend lived over there!"

Etc., etc. until we found out we not only live near each other now, we went to school together for four years in grade school and Junior High 2,000 miles from here. Had mutual friends, etc. We actually remembered each other.

Now in this series of PM's we decided to meet for lunch so I asked her to confirm that she was not some kind of dangerous psycho and she said she would leave her hatchet at home. I suggested she could put a lime green ribbon on it so we could recognize each other at lunch, lol. So I pull up to Panera, and the person parked next to me gets out of her car... with a HATCHET with a lime green bow on it! :scared1: OK, it was a pretend hatchet, but it was a riot. Actually, SHE is a riot, and we've had lunch together again since, with plans to again. (Just humoring her, she keeps a regular hatchet at home.) No, seriously, a great DIS board coincidence.

Everyone together now... "It's a small world, after all..."

That is a great story! Now I know to give you a hatchet of your own in your FE for your stalkers!!:rotfl2: It really is a small world. Did you want to be the pirate with the hatchet, instead of the sword?:rotfl:

who is this person???? She acts like she knows me! :rolleyes1 lol hehehe

You are too funny! Yep, the look on your face when I pulled out that hatchet. hehe I knew I should have put fake blood on it. Diser's are crazy people!!:scared: You just never know when they are lurking around the corner.....:scared1:

Yep, M.T.P. group :rotfl:

Karen - keep those little school prods coming. :) I actually both called and emailed the local college but neither one of those helped me. If I want to talk to someone with some kind of a plan I have to go down there. Ugh, 35 miles or so away. Haven't been motivated enough to make the trip yet. It's, uh, the holidays. Yeah, that's it. I've also been thinking of volunteering in the ESE classes in my DD's school to make sure I will like the job (I already know I love the kids, but want to make sure I could actually run a classroom for a living).

Did you want to be the pirate with the hatchet, instead of the sword?:rotfl:

Yes, I believe I would like that. For my own personal protection. :rotfl:

So what does everyone think about finalizing the name? I am off the sinus meds today, so I'm not likely to come up with any more strange acronyms. Do you all want to do "Mickey's Talking P.I.R.A.T.E.S."? Or we can use whatever else anyone likes!

I vote for this one, I think we should keep the acronym too. I puled it over from the other page

I am all for that name! Bring on the hatchets-oops-konk coolers. HAHA. Um, yeah, the holidays Melissa! POOR EXCUSE! Get up and go the distance!! Come on, you can do it. I am sure that in between your house and the college is a store that you need to pick up some presents. So, you would be multi-tasking. Believe me, I know it is hard. I already went to my first class over the summer and ended up having to take the next 3 months off to rethink my game plan. Then I realized that I want to do this and I can make a difference in not only my own child's life, but, others. You can make a difference as well! :cheer2: Okay, getting off my soap box for right now..

My vote is for Mickey's Talking P.I.R.A.T.E.S.....I say we lock in this name.....what do you say PIRATES....do we lock in this name?

popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn::

Drumroll please.....ta dum - ta dump a dump - ta da....I hereby declare us Mickey's Talking P.I.R.A.T.E.S. so long as there is no one that disagrees. Going once, going twice, done! Declared!

Now who is good at doing graphics.....my DH John said that he would have a go at it when we came up with a name. Now we have that so we'll see if he can come up with a graphic for us. Does anybody else know how to do graphics that wants to also give it a try??? Please feel free to do so. I'm sure we would all love to see it.

I don't think I can be any help with graphics, but I do like the fine print with the name.

I was just talking to John and told him that we have a name now. I told him the whole name so that he will include the tag line in the graphic. He said he'll see what he can do with it. I said it should have Mickey in it talking like a pirate, maybe with a parrot. Anybody have any other ideas of what they might want to see?

Ok, here's a thought... I can't get the wording to look "right" when I tried to come up with a design, so if you want to use this pic, here ya go! ;)

Good point. You are motivating, Karen! :goodvibes Going to make the drive next week after T'giving. Guess I'll never get anywhere thinking about it. LOL.

I love the Mickey head with the pirate bandana, and several of the other Mickey pirate graphics. Cool!

How was everyone's weekend? We were going non-stop. If one kid didn't have something going on, the other one did. Parties, soccer games, sleepovers, chili socials, the list goes on. I am tired, but it was a fun weekend. A friend of mine did a Steve Spangler Science party (if you haven't checked out his stuff, it's a really fun website) and I got to help do a bunch of glow experiments with a group of kids. Pretty cool!

Now that Deb's conducted a serious meeting :rotfl: I guess we're officially Mickey's Talking P.I.R.A.T.E.S.

So goodnight fellow P.I.R.A.T.E.S.! :cutie:
