I love the name!! Would have responded sooner, but having issues w/ homeschooling the youngest child. Some days I want to go lay infront of the big yellow school bus!:crazy2: I guess I should go now and try to teach him how to use Punnett squares to show gene combinations. I know you guys are jealous that my life is so exciting. :lmao:
I don't generally care for alcohol, but I'm thinking a few drinks on the ship sounds great right now. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!

Almost jealous about the punnett squares... *almost* ;) I don't drink either, but I do love the virgin versions! pirate:

LOL, some days are just like that, aren't they? I love my kids, really, but there are days when I would join you in front of the yellow bus. And I don't even homeschool! My kids are probably thanking the Lord for that. :rotfl:

I had to look up Punnett squares, never heard of them. I think I slept through Biology. Pretty cool! I had no idea there was a name for that concept. I just did a little mini-lesson with DD10 and her friend.

Have you ever checked out the Steve Spangler Science site? Link here. They have such cool stuff on there. Lots of amazing experiments. Although he sells everything for the experiments, lots of them can be done with stuff around the house, and he'll tell you if you can make it instead of buy it. I have a little "machine" (read: plastic container with hose attached) that makes bubbles with dry ice vapor inside of them that my friend got me, the kids LOVE it. You can bounce the bubbles around with a pair of cotton knit gloves on. If you ever want to borrow it, let me know. I'll ship it to you if you don't mind paying to ship it back. :) It's very lightweight.

Stay away from buses for a few days! :rotfl:

HAPPY THANKSGIVING FELLOW P.I.R.A.T.E.S!
Hope you all are having a great day! I have most of my pies and the stuffing made. Clothes are laid out for tomorrow morning!! I think we will start at about 3:00a.m. :scared1: Wishing everyone a wonderful day and if you dare, watch those crowds tomorrow!

Hope everyone had a great turkey day. We went out to eat at the Stroudsmoor Country Inn in the Pocono Mountains, where we live. It was quaint and beautiful. Here's a few pics.

Their champagne by the glass was too sweet for my liking so I had a cosmopolitan instead.

My DH John and my stepdad Ray. It was just the three of us for dinner.

Melissa,
Thanks for the website. Since school's out I won't be near any buses. :)

Those of you who are going to Disney do you think you could post some pictures of the decorations? I miss seeing Disney decked out for the Holidays.

You can view the pictures online for free and order them from home. They can not just be downloaded to your computer unfortunately. So is you want prints you either have to buy them or the CD. The CD gives you the rights to them, so you can then download them and print and copy them as you like. Hope you have a great trip.

Hi everyone! Just popping in to say I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving, I'm still full, lol. I've got my "PIRATES" siggie, now comes the hard part....the waiting. Can't this ticker go any faster????

Hey everyone, just checking in. :) Can't believe it's been a week since I posted, that's unusually quiet for me. :rotfl: Time is flying by, which is a double-edged sword... on the one hand, I have no idea how I'm going to get all my Christmas stuff done by Christmas, on the other hand, those cruise counters are going down much faster than usual!

We had a nice, quiet Thanksgiving with much food, and I let a friend of mine drag me out on Black Friday... we were up at 3:00 a.m. :scared1: I wanted one of the Sears large doorbuster items, and even though I got a ticket for it and was 3rd in line to pay, they oversold them and gave mine to someone else who beat me to receiving. :headache: I was not a happy camper, lol. The manager ordered me one and gave me a $50 credit back to my card, so that turned out OK.

Did you all see the thread about the Wonder's mooring lines snapping and the gangways all falling into the water? Scary!

Hope you all had a great T'giving and are more prepared for the holidays than I am!

Yonkrs_Girl suggested the Promenade Lounge after the last dinner seating on our first sailing night, which sounds fine to me, but so far we haven't formally set anything up. :)

Hello Everyone! I have been a stranger lately with all that has been going on with my mom and her surgery and travels to and from NY to try to help out but I am back and ready to begin my posting madness! :rotfl: We really got to know the group that we cruised with in September through the Boards so I look forward to that again!

That time and place worked great for our last cruise for a Group Meet and some just popped by to say hello and others sat for a few drinks, etc.

I will be going back through the thread to catch up and make sure I didn't miss any newcomers to the Fish Extenders List, etc. but just wanted to stop in and say hello and that I am looking forward to getting to know everyone :)

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We are gearing up for my daughter's 6th Birthday Party this Saturday (she turns 6 today!) and then looking ahead to Christmas & New Year's Eve Fun!

Take care!

Monica

Glad everyone is alive and well! :) I found out last night that there were some cat 12's open (there were none available when I originally booked) so I "downgraded" (from an 11 to a 12) and have saved $500!!! Which means, I am that much closer to having it paid off!!! Yahoo! And on another related note, I happened to mention the price drop to my aunt and a friend and they are talking with their TA today to see if maybe they want to squeeze in this trip also... so, while I still get to have my own room (hallelujah!) I won't have to go "alone"! :bounce: I am SOOOOO excited! It'll be my birthday ALL week long! ;)

Hey Monica! Wondered where you had gone off to. Hope your mom is OK, and a very happy Bday to your DD!

Nvcruiser, saving $500 rocks!! What a great deal. Hope your aunt and friend can join you. If not, you know you have all us DIS'ers to keep you company. :)

Have a great day, P.I.R.A.T.E.S.!

Yonkrs Girl...where in Ga are you? I'm down here in Savannah, we plan to drive down to the port and stay at the Radisson the night before the cruise.
