9/1/07 Eastern on the Magic... Anyone else?

Hi Jackie, got your PM and PM'd you back!

Unfortunately I haven't booked any excursions or Palo yet because this is our first Disney cruise. No worries through, I'll be able to do that on Sunday and I'm sooo excited!

Your girls are lovely and seem to be similar in ages to my boys. My boys are 13, 15 and 17. Two graduate this year, my youngest from middle school and my eldest from high school. Lots going on at home right now with all of these events going on as well as trying to plan the land portion of our trip at WDW. It'll be here real soon though, only 77 days to go for us, woohoo!:goodvibes

OK - what's everyone doing in St. Maarten? We're at a loss over what to do. The kids kind of restrict what we can do (ages 6, 6 and 5). How about beaches? We're docked there all day long so we need to do something!

Any recommendations?

Hello! So who's on the west coast that's a first time DCL cruiser? Tonight is the night we can book Palo!

We plan to do some shopping in both Phillipsburg and Marigot. and go to orient beach. We also are limited by a 3 year old. I hear orient beach is beautiful but kind of tourist trap. Also has some nudity, I have been told to stay to the north end of the beach for more clothes. I don't think my 3 year old would even notice the lack of clothing though. But I have been assured by my researching husband that Orient beach is one of the most beautiful in the world. :confused3 Maybe he just wants to see some nudity :sad2: Well anyway those are our plans.

So early this mornign I did all the registering. BIG MISTAKE! I should have been booking Palo reservations! At 9:30 pm I logged on to see the dates and times and literally, there are no available reservations for brunch or high tea the entire cruise! And dinner ressies are very, very limited! I'm frustrated. :confused3

Anyway - what's everyone doing on Castaway Cay excursion-wise?

I also heard that Orient Beach is one of the most beautiful beaches ... a week or so ago I decided to warn my dd's about the possible nudity on St. Martin ... well the 12 year old FREAKED!!! She wants NOTHING to do with seeing ANY of that and she says it's GROSS and she's not going!!! Oh GEEZ!! We're in TROUBLE!!! Well, she has a couple more months to prepare herself and get used to the idea!!! I did hear that nudity of any kind is NOT allowed on the Dutch side ... is this true??? Anyone know for sure? :confused3 So ... I have Dawn Beach on the DUTCH side in our plans. (You know that no matter where we go the first thing she is going to see is a topless woman or a butt!!! I just KNOW it!!!) :lmao: So, if you see a hysterical 12 year old in St. Martin during our cruise ... she's mine!!! ;)

We are Castaway Cay members and I couldn't get my brother and his wife added to our Palo/brunch reservation either :sad2: All brunch and high tea ressies were gone QUICKLY :( And this was before they were opened to everyone!!! :headache: If they are still interested, we are going to try to add them once on board ... we'll see! :confused3

Don't beat yourself up. I was up at midnight doing it and they were gone then too. I have heard that they only put a certain percentaget of fessies online, so as to not shut out people that don't do the internet (hard to believe such a thing still exists). Depending who you are talking to I have heard oly 30-50% are put online. Guess we will see you in line at the Palo reservation desk that afternoon. :dance3:

I didn't realize how long it had been since I looked at this thread!

We just finalized our day @ St. Maarten.... the 2 things we absolutely HAVE to see/do is 1.) watch a plane land @ Maho Beach (and of course hit the Beach Bar there!) and 2.) my 7-yr-old daughter wants to go to the "Naked Beach" (Orient) so she can take off her swimsuit and swim naked!:lmao:

All the reservations/plans are made for the week... now it's just the waiting game. Man this BLOWS!!!!!

How many days left until we leave!!!!!!??????:headache:

That airport looks awesome, I want to lay on that beach and just watch them land, outta be out of this world.

Just about everything is done... Palo reservations, shore excursions, I started to pack a little bit..... Can't wait to receive the cruise documents in the mail! It's right around the corner!!!!!
Melinda

Around the corner? Feels like forever to me, 7 weeks and 4 days! I've printed out and signed cruise docs so really nothing to do for 6 weeks (then I can start packing at least). Actually, over the door shoe holder is up and I stuff things in there occasionally so guess I am packing too. The waiting IS the hardest part.

Glad I found this thread!! I posted on the other one out there, but can't find that anymore.

We're so excited, less than 2 months away!! It'll be me, DH and DD who'll be 3 weeks shy of her 3rd birthday.

I wish there was some way to combine the two threads for this sailing, but I just keep checking both of them.

What plans does everyone have for the Ports of call?

We also have a three year old so we may taxi to Sapphire or Coki beach in St. Thomas, and we have a private driver/tour in St. Maarten. We'll just go with the flow at Castaway Cay.

The only worry we have is that we just hope that the ship is ready to go since it will just be back from the Transatlantc crossing that same morning.

We, too, have a private tour scheduled for St. Maarten. Who is doing your tour? We ended up going with Joyce Prince. At St. Thomas we've hired a private charter to take us over to St. John & around. I've started putting together some of the things for the trip (snorkel equipment, toiletries..etc...) Can't wait to get on Board & get a drink in my hand!!!!!

Looking forward to meeting everyone,
Melinda

We are going with Beau at No Rush Tours. He seems very flexible so you can see whatever you like, but his standard tour pretty much covers the whole island

How funny! We actually contacted him 1st on a reccomendation and he was already booked! Obviously by you:) Joyce operates the same way.... for example, we told her one of our "must see" stops is Maho so we can see one of the planes land.. we are really excited about being able to see so many things on St. Maarten. We'll have to be sure to meet up afterwards and swap stories!:thumbsup2
