886 days to go! :(

We will only fly with Virgin so it looks like i've got to stalk the site and check flights as soon as 11 months hits then.

As for the universal tickets they work out quite a bit more than virgin package ones as we get 14 days with virgin for £380 for all 3 of us and for 4 days it is £350! We don't do consecutive days as we go one day out of each of the 3 weeks.
Is there a magical site I am missing here?

I am loving all the advice I am getting here. Thanks guys :goodvibes

I use Travel Republic for tickets but possibly cheaper elsewhere, 14 day Universal tickets are £112pp(£336 for 3) for this year too early for next year yet.

So I have checked the prices non package and got
Flights = £4,181.37
Hotel WDW tickets & DDP = £6,898.11
Universal Tickets = £336
Airport lounge = £66

Total - £11481.48

Package with Virgin for all above was £ 11,811.63

????? I'm rubbish at this lol

Over 4k for three adults flying is madness even for people like me who will pay over the odds for Virgin and convenience. You can do better than that. Keep surfing :)

If you always fly with VA then you will have spare airmiles?

3 x Miles & Money in PE for 30th Sept for 22 nights = £3,224.37 +
22,500 miles, just 1 day earlier.

But as we are saying, you can't just look at todays prices, you have to book when fares are at a low.

£2,126 (£1805 Miles & money) in economy. I have travelled in all classes, Eco, PE & Business, PE is not worth double to me. For £4500 you want to be looking for a deal in Upper or BA's equivalent. I know many have got a one way flight to Ireland this summer and got Upper for around £1,000pp (although that is messing around)

I know many prefer PE but I don't see a big enough difference myself, I am over 20 stone, Son 6`3" and we are fine in economy. If PE is £50-100 extra OK but not worth anymore than that to me.

One of the stipulations for our holiday is that we will fly VA in premium economy.
I don't have any airmiles to use so it is just money for us too. It's not that we always fly VA. We have only been twice before but both times were with VA. It's not like
we go every year as you can see by my signature. LOL
We love VA and with our many special circumstances they have been fantastic and so accomodating.
So that's my excuse for being dense and not looking at other airlines.

We can keep an eye on the flight prices and see what they do over the next year and hopefully get them at a better price than they currently are.
I mean we have an age before we need to book anything. well over a year to see how the market works and find my feet at what I am doing.

I have started looking at different ways of booking this holiday and doing it all seperately seems cheapest. I am just worried I'll be one of those people who has forgotten to book something major.....lol. I've heard the horror stories.

Whichever airline you fly with I highly recommend registering with their frequent flying club.
For example just 1 return economy flight with American Airlines give you enough miles for a free nights hotel worth around £50.
A return flight in VA economy gives enough miles for a Miles & Money fare in PE. As my last post showed this can save around £300pp in PE.
They are all free to register with and usually valid 3+ years.

Many people like VA, I used to myself, unfortunately over the years their service has deteriorated and I don't rate them any higher than any other airline anymore. I would 100% rather fly Delta Business class indirect over VA direct in PE. Often a similar price but lay flat seat instead of a few inch larger than economy.

I have just checked an aparently I did sign up for an airmiles club (who knew? LOL) and have 10840 miles which aparently isn't enough for a discount on any PE flight (I did a miles and money flight search) I'd need to buy some more miles to bump it up to be enough but think it'd still work out about £2-300 cheaper.
I am not sure how we got those 10840 miles, but assume it was on our PE return flight last time we went. Just didn't realise I'd signed up for it. :confused3

I think it only gave me miles for my tickets and not my sisters who I travelled with and booked tickets at the same time as???

You have to register each traveller with their own account to claim the miles. So unfortunately 10840 would only give you enough miles for 1 M&M fare in PE.

OK thanks I didn't realise that. Oh well. It's too late to claim for the miles now but we know for next time.
