quick question
Hi! I'm new first post.tell me if i'm right please.I gather that renting points can save approx 1/2 off the room rates @WDW vacation resorts. However,it looks like you actually pay more if you rent points & say use them to stay @ the Polynesian,as opposed to the rack rates.Does anybody agree?

I like the Polynesian but I have three son's & a suite @ the Polynesian ,for A week, would be a bit much.Looks like one of your vacation resort properties would be a much better value w/o sacrificing any quality.

Thanks for any & all opinions.Al

Renting points to stay anywhere other than a DVC resort is not a good value - it will almost always be better to pay cash for non-DVC resort rooms.

IMHO, a 2 bedroom villa would be the way to go for a family of five. None of the DVC resorts are located on the monorail, but the extra living space, washer/dryer, fully equipped kitchen, and jacuzzi tub more than compensate. If you choose the BWV or BCV, you can boat or walk to both EPCOT and MGM and there are also many restaurants within walking distance!

Best wishes -

In my oppinion a DVC resort 1-2 bedroom villa is definitely a step up from a room at the Poly!

I agree, but the OP has a suite reserved. I'm sure those are much nicer & larger than the "regular" Poly rooms. Even so, I still think a DVC 2 bedroom villa is a better choice. Of course, I am biased, LOL!

Best wishes -

You have other options, like connecting rooms, which a lot of people do with a family of five. Often connecting rooms are less expensive than a suite.
