I think I read a thread about this last week--- I was looking for disney 1-800 # for booking. Thanks for the help.

According to some other threads they disconnected the toll free numbers. I don't know of any new numbers.

Just a note. I tried calling this number this morning and was told it was only for people from a certain group (sorry I couldn't really understand which group it was as the cm had a thick accent).

I called the 1-800 reservation # given by Lilolvr. I talked with CM with accent and after questioning him several times, that particular # is for McDonald's Employee's only.

He explained that everyone else has to call the regular 404-xxx-xxxx #.

Thanks for the help everyone :)

Sorry about that. I thought that was a good number. I'll keep searching.

yes i just called that number and was told that they only help mcdonalds employees at that number. i am so sad. I am now not able to call during the day. Have to wait till night time. This sucks.:headache:

As noted now by people trying to call that number, the 800 numbers were never intended for use by the general public. So, they are either getting shut down or apparently the CM's on the other line aren't going to be helping people who aren't supposed to be using the number.

:) It is a touchy post for some on the boards. Maybe you didn't read the previous posts about the toll free numbers :) No worries if you can get them great;)

Maybe the McDonald's number could be removed from the other post so others don't try and use it and have the same problem.:)

not trying to stir the pot, but why is it a touchy subject on the boards about an 800#.:confused3

Ive been on here for maybe two or more years and haven't heard or known that this was a touchy subject. Not like is is pool hoping, or refillable mug question. :confused3

agreed, not touchy at all.

Most of us have cell phones with free long distance/unlimited night calling.

That said, why not use your cell to call the "407" number, later in the evening??

And for those who don't have cell phones/unlimited plans -- calling cards can be had on the cheap, these days.

Well last week there was bunch of post about the 800 numbers not working. A lot of people were rather rude about even though they said they wasn't being rude just pointing why Disney shouldn't have toll free number. One it cost too much & it would be pass on to the public. The list goes on. Try to do a search for it. You can try this post >>http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=23815443#post23815443&highlight=any+toll+free+numbers

I agree with you it shouldn't be & Disney should have a toll free number now I said it my view only:lmao:

to answer your question I work in surgery and my phone does not get a signal. ANd I do not get off till late so wanted to call during the day when the call hold time/busy time was not that bad. Yes I have a cell phone and can call on that but the fact and what i said in my post was i was wanting to call from work during the day.

oh I was just wondering. Sorry and thanks for the update. you know the dis boards are great. I love getting on here for advice and tips, but it is getting to be that you really have to watch what you say on here. People get so mad and people feel attacked. Me too.:sad1:

Funny thing about the number I was using was given to me by a Disney CM working at the travel Company. It wasn't a TA 's number I have heard what a travel agent number sound like. lol. Yes people on here most are nice & will answer you but others take delight making you feel like you are commiting a major crime. :rotfl: Now I will be hit for this :lmao:

And not at you but using a cell is great if you got the minutes but my cell phone doesn't work in our house:sad2:

You know, it's not even really the toll-free numbers (that were never intended for use by the general public - had to get that in :)) that are the 'touchy' issue; it's more that despite knowing this, many posters continue to insist that it's fine to use and share these numbers.

Disney Accounting isn't stupid. Any business with WATS (toll-free) lines is billed per call per minute/unit. It's pretty obvious that they're auditing the phone bills, and shutting down the lines as each gains in popularity. The lines they can't shut down - like the McDonald's one - they're still not allowing the general public to use.

Of course, anybody who does want to use that particular number could always just get a job at McDonald's :teeth:
