8 passenger van rental via L&M

We usually have 6, and rent a minivan. With a wheelchair along, it is a tight fit. This year we have 7 people, and the 8 passenger van seems to be a better option. L&M has one. Does anyone have any codes for L&M, or any suggestions? I read somewhere they give a 10% AAA discount, but I am unsure how to get the website to give that to me. I will call them and ask.......

I know they pressure you on additional insurance, so I will bring proof of that with me. I know they are not National, but I am willing to put up with some aggravation to get that bigger van.......

I have to tell you that we have had very good experiences with them. This past May, we had a car booked with another rental company. We get there and the line is huge and slow moving. We go over to L&M and there is no line. We show them our rental agreement for an 8 passenger van and they beat the price. We had two drivers and they also did not charge us the additional fee for the second driver. There was no hassle about insurance either. The van was new and in great shape and we were out of there in no time flat. Great experience.

VinnyNYC, we have rented from L&M quite a few times. The vehicles have always been in great shape, no hassles, no long lines and we have yet to have a bad experience with them.

I have rented from L&M many times over the years. Never had a problem. I always bring my insurance papers, sometimes they ask, sometimes they don't. They have never given me a hard sell for insurance either. Very quick and I have never had to wait in line.

Patty3, what was the other company where you had a 8 passenger van booked? I can't seem to find many others with this vehicle. I also looked at large SUVs like Surburbans.

We booked the car rental through Member Services and it was Alamo. As I said, when we got to their counter, it was packed. It was the biggest line and not moving. So, it was then we headed to L&M and they gave us a better rate and we were out of there in 5 minutes, it was great. I will definitely use them again.

Does L&Mm charge for mileage? It looks like they DO. Hmm. We are considering renting 2 cars, it might be less than the van.

Unless they changed their policy since February, I never paid for mileage. But I never rented a van.

if your a fla. resident, you get a 100 miles per day. if your a non-fla. resident, its unlimited miles

We have always had unlimited miles. I would not worry one bit about renting a car from them. We have rented from them on two occassions and they were great both times, short lines and courteous staff plus clean new cars!
