May I share that my sister in law has had terrible migranes - and she's tried all sorts of remedies and theraphies (misspelled?)... and supposedly one of the homeopathic approaches says to do away with all aspertain (again, misspelled?) as some studies suggested some who sufferred from migranes used a lot of the stuff. And my SIL does in fact use a lot of aspertaine.

If you're one of those - try weening yourself of it for a few weeks to cleanse your system of it - and maybe your migranes will clear up?

AND note... I am not biased here ... and am encouraging you to try weening and/or read the studies on it. SOme studies refute my assertions while others support it. Either way who cares what any study says IF your migranes subside with elimenating aspertaine?

Here are a couple links to stidies:

Who else????? What other bases do we have covered?

Myself : Hospital Pharmacist, might be good to have a licensed drug dealer when we are in Cartagena. :hippie:
DW: Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse (Well she will be going along for the ride)

Andrew: What a nice piece of art.:thumbsup2 Did they allow you to take any of the menus? Or do I dare say Take what you can?Great to see you posting here.............Hope your family can come on this cruise.:goodvibes

You have to ask your server and they should hold them for you, on early sitting they are used again on late sitting and then the server forgets, for all the ones I obtained I asked!

Sounds like me and my DH
DH is an otorhinolaryngologist (ENT doc)
I am a SAHM but my career is ER nurse. Thats why I said I hope we don't need my career. We do travel with every kind of suture, glue, med, and inhaler known to mankind though.

OKAY Crash---I'll go first!!!!!We met when DH was in med school and I was working in OB at the time and he would stay and talk to me into the evening and have dinner with me. (That was if I got dinner). We have been married 15 years. We met in TX which is where I am from and moved back to Michigan which is where DH is from for residency for 5 years and now we are here in Orlando. Been here 13 years.

So - remember - you supply the quarters and I'll volunteer to do your laundry on the Magic - just you'll have to sign the "hold harmless" waiver first... <chuckles>! See what a nice guy I am?

ooooh how many Mickey bars w/sprinkles per load....

I'll sort & leave sticky notes for the settings, of course....

BTW if i get on this trip, I have a degree in landscape architecture working on my prof licensure this year. I am currently working in planning.

My former hats include:

Customer service rep for Springs Window Fashions (the Bali/Graber blind people)

Church Secretary

Loan Operation Clerk (Review new loans; satisfying mortgages)

Also worked at Hechinger (my first real job in HS and helped pay for college) as Front End Supervisor

My DH is a Architecture Draftsman.

Coolest part ---alright not the coolest part but it was pretty cool for an ER junkie like me) was Blake my youngest developed a nasty cough that was going around the kids club on the last cruise. She started coughing so hard she threw up at one point while she was in kids club. Because of the whole Norwalk thing she had to be seen in medical before she could go back to the club so I took her down and the nicest (and cutest but we won't go there) Stacey---puts Luka to shame---------okay anyway------finds out that DH is a doc and me an ER nurse and wants to show us all the medical area including the morgue and all the critical care beds they can operate at any given time. Their equipment was impressive top of the line. Ability to do just about anything!!!!!!! It is good to know!!!!!!!! They were so nice!!!!!! He kept trying to talk Dale into doing some weeks when he retires. How fun would that be?????Alright how fun would that be for ME?

... assuming a significant other is in the equation... how did you meet? Any stories to embelish?

My Dh and i met my Sophmore year at PSU. I met one of his friends through my computer lab job (work/study) with what was a precusor to today's internet (an old VAX server).

I went with said friend to DH's apt for a night of drinking. It never worked out with the friend but DH began e-mailing me and the rest is ....history.

We've been together 15 years. Married for 10 of those years.

DD is 13 (don't do the math.:rolleyes1 )

You know you kind of look like you should be one of the main mates----Barbosa, Davy Jones, ...........DH will be "volunteering" as well:lmao: :lmao:

You know Todd you asked who I was going to be-----are there any blonde hair blue eyed pirate wenches? I may have to do a dark wig huh? I will have to watch it all again and see what is plausible.

Your tour sounded really cool! Although I'm glad I've never had the opportunity to see it! MMMMmmmm Luka . . . sorry I was distracted for a moment . . .oh look, shiny things . . .

We got a smiliar private tour of the bridge from Capt. Thord after he and DH talked "sailor" on formal night & at the CC reception. He showed us around the bridge and chatted with us up there for about an hour. :sail: (So glad I talked DH into wearing his dress uniform for formal night instead of renting a tux!!)

How we met: He was the cute kid who had a locker next to my best friend my freshman year of high school. My mom was nervous when he started calling my house because he was a sophomore & would be driving soon. :drive: We started dating my senior year - he was 18, I was 17. Been with him half my life as of sometime this year...I'm a word geek, not a math geek, so I'm not going to figure out the exact second.

Do I know this to be fact ?? NO ...is it possible ? YES shall we see or hear soon ?? I think so ..

Well... off hand ... I was just wondering if I had missed something that was otherwise emerging real news. And - so long as it remains a MYSTERY ship with an unknown name...

Let me be, perhaps, the first to say the new ship will be named either the Disney Pearl, Disney Bucaneer .... or the Disney Nautilus! Give me more time and I'll dream up 12 hundred more variations and I'll try to lay claim to having "first guess" bragging rights!:thumbsup2

Okay so we now have a known TA---Ivanova (Susan),
a lawyer or the likes in CBJHockeyNut,
either a mathmatician or a research scientist in Crash (sorry I shortened the name there but it sounds cool and its easy to write.),
an ex DJ who now has turned pirate----Disney Vegas1,
a website designer----BuddyBear.
Who else????? What other bases do we have covered?

Jazzercise instructor and Stay-at-home mom here... Too bad they took out the little room with mirrors from the fitness center, I coulda worked y'all out a few times during this 15night food fest on a ship!:cheer2:

DH is a musician/singer masquerading as a college professor (in music at least) for a steady paycheck. He conducts legit & jazz choirs, writes tons of music, performs, adjudicates, etc. Just don't ask him to sing karaoke. Unfortunately. He likens it to asking a dentist you meet at a restaurant to look at a sore tooth!

Crash--so glad to hear you are in the clear from the fire. :yay:

Marcy

I love seeing behind the scenes, don't you??? It makes me appreciate all that they do. The most fascinating part about the medical facility to me was that I always think of passengers need but he said their biggest patient load by far was CM's as their family doctor, endocrinologist, dermatologist, ENT, ortho, They have shot clinics, health screenings, .....When you see the few hours that it is open.....that is because the rest of the time it is open for CM's. I always thought they just didn't work many hours.

Your tour sounds very cool.

Where was it that used to have the pictures of the staff quarters?

Marcy--- I need that workout. Can we try water aerobics in the early am in the Quiet Cove or Goofy? How about marathon walking on deck 4???

How funny!

Well... we have a certain number of folks involved with medicine in my family (maybe more on that later if I get the whim)... and in particular your story brings to mind that my spouses' brother who is closest in age - well he's a 7 board doc (int med, ped, pulminologist, ped pulminoligist, MPH, critical care, ped cirtical care) who teaches (what do you call it - is he a resident or what?) at one of Harvards' teaching hospitals - I think its' one of the Womens' hospitals; and he does research work for the Channing Laboratory - which is supposed to be the premier research lab for Harvard. Well... my story goes that this well credentialed doc was practicing in Honolulu at Queens hospital, and single when he decided it might be a fun diversion to be the ships Doctor for a voyage or two on one of the American Hawaii cruise liners that circled the islands. He had fun and nothing memorable or newsworthy occurred - but he counts it as an entertaining diversion when he was not on duty. Plus he got more or less a couple of free cruises.

I would certainly consider doing it - without consideration for the actual ramifications - alas... they probably don't have any "free" ride and "fun to run" positions for people with my kind of background. I'm such a bottom fisher... like my spouse... our ears always perk up when we hear the "free is good" thing mentoned! <chuckles>

I haven't done much Jazzercise, but I love aerobics classes. Sounds like a great SAHM-get-out-and-talk-to-grown-ups job.

Sign me up for your on-board class - we'll just take over a space. There's enough of us - take what you can and all. pirate:

I'm one of those crazy people who works out on the cruise. Helps make up for the umbrella drinks, nightly bottle of wine & 6,000 calorie a day diet! I never let my family use the elevator either!! I never sleep in (no matter how much I want to , no matter how much I try) and love an early morning deck 4 jog/walk (I'm NOT a runner!). I really wanted to do the morning yoga class on CC, but I was like 30th on the waiting list for that one!

Ha! Problem with the water aerobics is that I can't touch the bottom of the pool (adult pool) as I am... ah... vertically challenged?!?! (not quite 5' tall).:rotfl:
But I definitely will be one of the walkers/joggers on deck 4! Join me in the ams!

Yes! I being out and around adults... and the music we get is really current--very fun.
If there was a space and a simple soundsystem I would love to teach classes aboard...for free even! Mostly because it's my favorite way to work off that wine package, umbrella drinks, choco souffle, and morning buffets too!
:yay: :cool1: :yay: :Pinkbounc :bounce:  :cool1: :yay: :yay: line us up!
