All of our dog grooming places are called "SPAS".
I own my own pet sitting business and alot of the times I have to take them to get groomed.
I call it "Fluffed and Buffed!.
They come home looking beautiful. We even have one company that come to the house and grooms your pet.
Now, if we are counting RECTANGLES and not SQUARES, then there would be 118, I think.
I'm coming up with 118 also.
Here's my calculation:
V=Vertical
H=Horizontal
12 - 2x1 V - larger squares
12 - 2x1 H - larger squares
4 - 2x1 V - smaller squares
4 - 2x1 H - smaller squares
32 total 2x1
16 - 3x1 both V and H
12 - 3x2 both V and H
28 total 3 tall
8 - 4x1 both V and H
6 - 4x2 both V and H
4 - 4x3 both V and H
18 total 4 tall
That makes 78 elongated rectangles.
Now, since all squares are rectangles (but all rectangles aren't squares) you need to add the 40 squares to the total.
That makes 118.
well....at least you and I are enjoying this....
eta...okay Joel is still playing, too....
Question for all you really smart tech people from this really, well let's just be kind and say, ignorant person....
MS Outlook - how do I block an email address so I am no longer bothered by this pestery person?????
I haven't seen Office Space...It looks funny though.
ohhh, I want to see The Departed
In between heating up my Donato's and doing some work. I am finding it humorous that there seems to be one group deciphering hidden squares and another group making up movie
quotes.
Ignoring the inner boxes, it's 1-squared + 2-squared + 3-squared + 4-squared for the main box. (You are counting the 4x4's (1) + the 3x3's (4) + the 2x2's (9) + the 1x1's (16)) so that is 30.
Then for the inner boxes, it's 1-squared + 2-squared (or 5) times two.
30 + 5 + 5 = 40.
That's my final answer.
Although there still aren't any squares.
Maybe we should count rhombuses (rhombii?)
