It's after 11 - I've turned into a pumpkin. Good night everyone - see you on the flip!

:flower3: ..is that where spring hiding? [the flip side pixiedust: ]

Must be somewhere...anywhere but here. That stinkin' groundhog must be laughing his you know what off right now. Weather forecast here is calling for below 0* and more snow. Yech.

DARN...only 1 number....guess i'll have to pay for the cruise the old fashioned way.....:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Guys, someone just forwarded it to me. I have been working on other things for the board. I can't help but feel that maybe I shouldn't work so hard to keep this thread going so that it doesn't get shut down like theirs did.

I also do not want anyone to think that I am just targeting someone. I have tried to reach out to bridge the gap and actually found that the people I have chatted with aren't "bad guys" and have the same hopes about this cruise being a great family vacation just like I do. I agree that we are going to have to figure out some way to be decent to each other on the ship for 15 days. I have been told that we shouldn't have anything to worry about.

I don't go around making wide far out decisions on my own on the boards. The rules and guidelines are set by the owners and it is my job to see that they are kept in the cruise forums. I agreed to do this job on my time because I enjoy the DIS boards. I do not get paid for this in any way. I do it because I like to help people get ready for their cruises...especially that first one...and I have always had what I believe is a better cruise experience because of the DIS group that we have cruised with.

The fact that someone is trying to ruin that for this cruise is very upsetting to me. This cruise is going to be what you guys want it to be no matter who else is on the ship. I just don't understand why someone continues to do this.

1) What would you take - lump sum or annual payments?
2) What would be the FIRST application for your 1st dollar of proceeds?
3) Where would go on your first trip with the proceeds?
4) Would you continue working or maintain the MAJORITY of your routine?
5) What charity or non-profit would be the 1st beneficiary of your windfall?
6) Would you do anything special with the proceeds in the near future?
7) What would be the most crazy thing you might do which otherwise would be far fetched to consider now?

Hum....

1) Lump sum
2) Fund the new caritible organization I registered before I claimed the prize. (Why pay all those taxes? Not certain it would work though.) Some portion would be kept for family though.
3) Homeschool the boys and take them around the world. SLOWLY!
4) Continue working until all the tax entities get set up. then? Well, I'd have a whole new set of working problems wouldn't I? Especially since my new charitable organization would hire me to dole out the money.
5) A Matching Grant to our school which is building a new high school, and redeveloping the campus Early Childhood and the lower school areas.
6) Build a cabin on the family property in the Cascades in WA. (It's got a million dollar view - and needs a cabin to match it.)
7) Buy my husband the Biz-Jet he lusts after - and the lessons to go with it. :rotfl2:

After I read through ketchup today, yes. That is such a great rate. It will probably be just Julia and me...now way DH can get off more than two weeks in a row. We'd be looking for someone to hang out with (but only if you wanted to, I'd understand if you have family time). Are you staying there?

Sounds great.
It will just be me and the kids the majority of the week. Jeff will fly in on Friday (or possibly Thursday night if he isn't asked to work Friday or wants to fly that late) because we also can't really afford to have him off another week before the cruise.

Okay so the numbers are going to be announced in a moment and you'll all get to find out if your cruise is paid for by moi, if one of my tickets wins. :lmao:

Hey they just said that in Texas ALONE, in the hour from 7-8pm we sold over 1 million tickets for the lottery tonight. Well a few of those were mine, I bought mine about 7:15pm after I dropped Ruby off at church. :rotfl: What's really weird is I did one quick pick and then 5 that I picked out the numbers myself- which were all our ages plus one number different on each one (the 6th number). The quick pick numbers were almost all the numbers I picked! 4 numbers were the same as mine and the other 2 were only 1 number off from my numbers. Strange.

Well see, this is why I haven't played the lottery in over 16yrs. I didn't win JACK!

I only had one number on a few of the cards -ONE on each and it wasn't the mega ball- so I win zero $$.

:grouphug: I for one appreciate everything you've been doing - I'm sure it can't be easy - my sincere and heartfelt thanks. I think that I speak for everyone who has posted tonight that we intend on continuing to take the high road and that we won't turn it into an us vs. them thing. This will truly be a TOAL to remember.

Lisa -
I don't understand a lot of the history here, much less some of the politics either. All I do know is that I enjoy this board, this thread in particular. IMO I've found you to be fair, helpful, supportive and honest. :grouphug:

Thank you Lisa. We know how much time you put into this effort as a volunteer. We have a wonderful, fun group of people here and nothing is going to ruin this cruise for any of us. This is our trip of a lifetime and I think we can and should just ignore anything negative that gets thrown our way. That is what I intend to do. No one is going to rain on my parade, and don't let anyone rain on yours. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

If i could add something here as a member of this thread as well as your last thread (the 12/9 DISGeeks). Never have i seen someone so determined to make others happy, sometimes at her own expense to ensure their cruise was what they expected. Just because one person out of so many of us has an issue shouldn't deter you from having fun along with the rest of us. I am quite sure that if you were doing something wrong your "Boss" would clip ur wings, and he/she hasn't yet. So lets let it go...pass it on to your friends across the WWW (the other site) and lets get back to the important stuff:thumbsup2

like getting me a ROOM NUMBER :rotfl2: :lmao:
