Thanks, I'll tell her you cheered for her. She'll probably remember you. I'll just tell her you're that lady that came to take pictures of us at the dinner table on pirates night. :)

There were two different nights....Tropical, too, maybe? Oh well, just tell her that I'm one of the co-owners of Shutters, who paid a personal visit to her table! ;) ;)

Hey, I just realized that would be the year of our 22nd anniversary. OMG we will have been married a long time by then! LOL

2012 would also be the year our daughter graduated, but we'd rather cruise in 2011 because in 2012 (her birthday is in Jan) she'd be turning 18... and so she couldn't be in the teen group (and therefore bored?) and our next child would be just too young (IMO) to be in the teen group without an older sibling in the same group. 2011 our eldest would be 17 (in teen group) and middle child about 14 (depending on time of year- ie: also in teen group with older sister). So that would work for us! We can celebrate 20th anniversary late or 21st anniversary, right? LOL

Please, it'll be our 33rd!

Given the teen pregnancy rate, there is significant sexual unprotected sex.
I volunteered for years at a teen pregnancy home here in TX and say it 1st hand. Truly tragic.
I did not even know we had a high teen pregnancy rate in comparison to other states. :(

I'll join in with all the moms who believe this should stay 'voluntary'. I have enough complaints about my school district requiring dental exams every few years (and why do they need to be involved in whether my kids have bad gums or not) let alone something like this.
Slippery slope, no telling what all they'll start telling us is mandatory, in future years, in order to go to PS... yet we'll pay school taxes whether we take our kids there or not. :sad2:

Hey why did I get thrown in there. I never said one word.....Mykids have all been vacinnated with every available shot including chicken pox.....I will definitely get my daughter this vaccine when it is available here.

I think she just included you because you have a precious young daughter? :confused3

Well, actually it is the State of Illinois. Dental exams for kindergarten, fifth and ninth grade are required. I agree it is a 'should be' for the parents and I wish now my parents had been more inclinded to (my parents didn't like going to any doctors at all -- they were Cheap with a capital C) but I am tired of the schools and the government replacing parental responsibility.
Ditto

I received some bad news when I woke up this morning and have been trying to deal with that. DH's GM died Wednesday night. I haven't been able to reach him yet but the service wont be for a couple weeks. She will be buried with her DH in Arlington National Cemetary so we have to wait for an opening. Gram was a very sweet lady who I didn't meet until her DH died, but she and the rest of the family treated me wonderfully. We had just sent out our engagement announcements the week before his accident. She has been in a rest home for quite a while since suffering with alzheimer's. She died peacefully in her sleep, so that is comforting.

I just wanted you to know if I am not around much today.

Oh Lisa, I'm so sorry. You and your family will be in my prayers... I'm so glad she died peacefully in her sleep but I know it has to be hard for all of you to lose someone so dear. *hugs*

The person who posted this is also with the other site who is planning this. I don't want anyone here to be misled about what they are signing up for or who they are signing up with in order to get the minimum number of people needed to participate.

Thanks Lisa! :thumbsup2

Well woman, you only gave me pictures from one night (which was pirate night but we were dressed in our tropical outfits because by gosh I'd bought them years before and they weren't going to be wasted outfits! LOL). Where's the picture from the other night? I've been ripped off!!!!!!!
:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Should we really be calling them the 'spam group'? I thought it was just one person who went too far. I'd really hate for there to be animosity building up from 17 months before the cruise when we finally board and meet our fellow cruisers.

(Ok, it must be bizarro day. I am trying to be a voice of reason. Freaky Friday and where is Lindsey Lohan?)

My Blabbermouth pals will probably be glad to know that this means I'm still an official "Blabbermouth". I'm betting that at least 90% of the rest of my posts were/are there. Sorry, Captain!

There has been plenty of testing done on the vaccination. There has been at least 5-7 years. It works. The only question is whether the immunity will last a life-time vs 10-20 years. Only time will tell.

Ok, so this raises the question--If the vaccine only works for 10 years, and the girls are vaccinated in middle school, doesn't that mean the vaccine can potentially fail at a time in a young woman's life when she's statistically more likely to need that protection the most? :confused3

Sorry ----I really do not know what else to call them since you are not supposed to mention other sites on the thread......I do not even know these people but they have made their own bed........first hand knowledge is invaluable...........

Thanks so much! Appreciate the medical perspective in laymans terms.;)
I think there is tremendous misinformation on this vaccine. It is tough that it is sexually related and the goverment is in on it. That turns a lot of people off and they do not necessarily listen to the benefits.
Reality is, especially in Texas, there are a LOT of kids who are not in situations where they receive proper parental supervision- they are the ones that need it the most.

They may also be thinking of the things that we don't want to think of.....every parents' nightmare....molestation, rape, incest........the things we can't protect them from no matter what.

Amen, preach it sistah. LOL
(except it's even worse- here they are mandating it in 5th grade. 10yrs old. Not middle school)

What the fluff? Are you trying to say you don't love us here too? :sad1:

(I wonder what my statistic is over there... how do you find that out?)

Lisa--

I am so sorry for your family's loss. :grouphug:

Sorry if I offended any parents opposed to corporal punishment. (It is corporal punishment and not capital punishment, right? I always get those two confused when dealing with my kids :lmao: -- and here come those people from DFACS again). I'm an 'old school' parent.

We're already on our school's "list" somewhere. We once told a teacher that if she couldn't get our kid's attention, she had our permission to wing a chalk board eraser at his head!
Her answer? "I'm a bad aim. My luck, I'd hit someone else's kid!" :rotfl:

Okay, y'all be good today. I simply MUST take a nap. No sleep last night, won't get sleep tonight (little one's first sleepover with GS troop) and then saturday is one busy day for me! I have to get some sleep so I can stay awake during the performance sat night!!! I've paid too much to be snoring during it. :lmao:

(yesterday I got my hair highlighted and for the first time ever -slept thru every part of it! She was foiling, I fell asleep. woke me up to put me under the heat, fell asleep under there. Laid with my head in the sink to rinse- fell asleep. Blowdrying my hair, fell asleep. that's just not right. LOL)

Just put the emphasis on the cute, young, precious part...it was just for a visual. Besides, I didn't want Lisa and Shelley to think I was pickin' on 'em! :lmao:
