Just came across from something interesting... I know you are planning a DL DIS meet. Are you all aware of the Happiest Picnic on Earth Celebration at Disneyland. This sounds like fun. They can accommodate 100 to 1000 guests. Would you like me to investigate further???

Would this be the same event that the website we were spammed about last week is planning? If so, I think that it is only fair that people know who else will be there if they sign up for this.

Hey, I take that back! We must just be in the "d-list" or something because at 4:29am CST I just received the "info" email about the new ships... Little do they know that I've already got the info on the Disboards.... they are too slow in sending the info! LOL

I must be "Z-List" then because I got nothing. I get daily spam from DisneyShopping.com about their latest discounts, but nothing from DCL or CC.

Love the great news about the 2 new ships Disney is building. Now I can die in peace. Of couse after I've done every existing itinerary they will have to offer.

Let's see....its Friday which means......I need to pack and head to the airport in a couple of hours to run away to Disneland for 5 days

The question is... how many thousands of posts will I have to catch up on when I get back on Wednesday evening? Maybe I'll just have to take a 'puter with me LOL

Some of us on this thread are part of the other group as well. I was planning to do things with both groups.

I don't think MJ was talking about merging the two groups. When she said she would call to gather information, I assumedupsidedow ) she meant info for this group.

I'm sure whoever puts this together will be asked for a date and time that they are interested in. There may or may not be a conflict.

I think it's strange/odd that several hundred people will avoid something just because a few people had a problem.

If it's something you're interested in go for it. Who knows if or when you'll have the opportunity again.

Whoa, I got all serious and even more verbose than usual (for me) in my last post. sorry... I promise that's the last on the subject from me. I tried to be extremely brief on how I felt on the matter when it was first brought up... but then I had to "go there" in explaining how I really really feel on the matter.

I totally understand where you are coming from. Will my daughters be vaccinated? That will be up to me and their doctor to decide (hopefully). It is really sad that our government has to step in to help raise our children because there are so many who fail to step up to the plate!

I would like to offer my opinion on this from a medical standpoint. First, I do not agree with government mandating vaccinations, except in the case of communicable disease that can spread in schools (Measles, Mumps, Hepatitis and yes even Chicken Pox's). I will return to chicken pox later. Second point and the most important is that you are all missing the point of the HPV vaccination. You are all under the impression that it is for the protection against the STD Human papillomaviruses, which it is. The problem with this is that it is not intended to stop the HPV as a STD (like a syphilis or GC vaccine) but for the prevention of cervical cancer in your daughters. It just happens that there is strong evidence that suggest that HPV is associated with cervical cancer. Yes the vaccine is new. Yes the vaccine does work. The problem that the public has with new vaccines is that you think that one shot should take care of the problem. With any new vaccine that stimulates the bodies immune system is that we are not sure how long the immunity lasts. Vaccines would never be marketed if they were required to determine what the 10-20 year outcomes of vaccine were required before marketing. This vaccinine has the potential for preventing a certain kind of cancer in your daugthers. Down the road a second or third booster may be required. If it is, would you not be willing to have your daughters receive a booster to prevent cervical cancer. Why am I harping on this? I have seen too many young and older women die of cervical cancer during my time in the hospital. 10,000 new cases will be diagnosed this year with at least 4,000 deaths. The vaccine needs to be administered early for that immunity to be developed. If you wait too long to administer it you may not be successful in stopping the virus. It is not about STD! It is about protecting your daughters form cervical cancer. I would also advocate the vaccination of boys as well to try to end this disease, but insurance companies will not go for this. The dicision is up to you as parents on whether you want to protect your children.

I think there is tremendous misinformation on this vaccine. It is tough that it is sexually related and the goverment is in on it. That turns a lot of people off and they do not necessarily listen to the benefits.
Reality is, especially in Texas, there are a LOT of kids who are not in situations where they receive proper parental supervision- they are the ones that need it the most.
