THANK YOU.

DD- Still recovering, 2nd/3 weeks to find out of skin graft on ear has actually taken, everything crossed, know on the 1st if ok.

:grouphug: and :wizard: headed your way from across the pond!!! :goodvibes

The government recently calculated the cost of raising a child from birth to 18 to be $160,140 for a middle income family.
Talk about sticker shock! That doesn't even touch college tuition.

But $160,140 isn't so bad if you break it down. It translates into:

* $8,896.66 a year, or

* $741.38 a month, or

* $171.08 a week.

* That's a mere $24.24 a day!

* Just over a dollar an hour.

Still, you might think the best financial advice is "if you want to be 'rich', don't have children. Actually, it is just the opposite.

What do you get for your $160,140?
* Naming rights. First, middle, and last!
* Glimpses of God every day.
* Giggles under the covers every night.
* More love than your heart can hold.
* Butterfly kisses and Velcro hugs.
* Endless wonder over rocks, ants, clouds, and warm cookies.
* A hand to hold, usually covered with jelly or chocolate.
* A partner for blowing bubbles, flying kites
* Someone to laugh yourself silly with, no matter what the boss said or how your stocks performed that day

For $160,140, you never have to grow up.
You get to:
* finger-paint,
* carve pumpkins,
* play hide-and-seek,
* catch lightning bugs, and
* never stop believing in Santa Claus.

You have an excuse to:
* keep reading "The Adventures of Piglet and Pooh" ,
* watch Saturday morning cartoons,
* go to Disney movies,
* wish upon a star.

You also get to:
* frame rainbows, hearts, and flowers under refrigerator magnets,
* collect: spray painted noodle wreaths for Christmas,
* hand prints set in clay for Mother's Day,
* cards with backward letters for Father's Day.

For $160,140, there is no bigger bang for your buck.

You get to be a hero just for:
* retrieving a Frisbee off the garage roof,
* taking the training wheels off a bike,
* removing a splinter,
* filling a wading pool,
* coaxing a wad of gum out of bangs, and
* coaching a baseball team that never wins but always gets treated to ice cream regardless.

You get a front row seat to history to witness history:
* her first step,
* his first word,
* her first bra,
* his first date, and
* their first time behind the wheel.

You get to be immortal.
You get another branch added to your family tree, and if you're lucky, a long list of limbs called grandchildren and great grandchildren in your obituary

You get an education in psychology, nursing, criminal justice, communications, and human sexuality that no college can match.

In the eyes of a child, you rank right up there under God.
You have the power to:
* heal a boo-boo,
* scare away the monsters under the bed,
* patch a broken heart,
* police a slumber party,
* ground them forever, and
* love them without limits...so that one day they, like you, will love without counting the cost.

That is quite a deal for the price!

Love & enjoy your children & grandchildren! :love: :cloud9:

love this i had to copy this and send it to all special moms that i know hope ya dont mind thank you

Cool. What's he teach?

He teaches Exercise Physiology and Anatomy. He, SIL and DN live in Athens. Since he finished his PhD two years ago, he (jokingly) insists we address letters to him as Dr. I guess he's trying to impress the mailman.

I am SO very happy for you! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

THANK YOU Tag Fairy for including our superty cool friend. Your chocolate is on its way.

I think you better send the chocolate ASAP...at least according to the Tag Fairy!

Just checked the website,here's this season's lineup:

Heather Mills
Ian Ziering; "90210"
Joey Fatone; NSYNC
Laila Ali; Muhammad Ali's Daughter
Clyde Drexler; former NBAer
Shandi Finnessey; 2004 Miss USA and Game Sho Hostess
Leeza Gibbons; Entertainment Tonight Anchor
Apolo Anton Ohno; Olympic Speed Skater (US or Canada?)
Vincent Pastore; "The Sopranos"
Paulina Porizkova; Former Super Model
Billy Ray Cyress; Mr Achy Breaky himself.

Joey Fatone was aboard on the EB repo cruise in 2005. He hosted Who Wants to be a Mouseketeer and a couple of other things that my mind refuses to recall right now :confused: He and his family were all over the ship and we saw them many times at the pools. He was very friendly and seemed genuinely happy to be on the cruise.

And Vincent Pastore :scared1: for any Sopranos fans he played a character that I would get banned for using the name on this board and ended up with cement shoes on at the bottom of the ocean. I'm guessing he is the George Hamilton/Jerry Springer of this group.

I cannot post here much about this, some might put two and two together, but If she felt people on the cruise knew too much she might not go in the future,

Just to say its a recurring illness and is hard for all, her but particularly the Kids to cope with and it cannot be solved in weeks or months.

Against what others have posted they have been though, is one of lifes hurdels to get over, and bounce back from. Having Andys tenacity would help.

Prayers added to the :grouphug: and :wizard:

I really like Max for the Danny part. I think he is just cool enough and he has a bit of that beach boy type of shyness that is Danny shows when he is just with Sandy. Besides he is the underdog and he has a great smile.

I could never see him as Danny until he got his hair styled. :thumbsup2 I always vote for underdogs too. Sandy I am not sure of. No one blows my mind (My minds been gone for awhile) for Sandy.:happytv:

Here's one that describes this group.

Did you look up the lyrics or just spell it phonetically?:rotfl:

My OU roommate was an ExPhys major. Don't even get me started on all of my housemates taking anatomy together!

If I ever earn my PhD I'm going to make DH & DSs call me Doctor for at least a month.

Okay since everyone is gone now and I have taken to talking to myself and the kettle person.......

Squirrels were mentioned earlier....
Remember the hurricane triple punch to Florida....well my mom called me to come over as she had this "varmit"(TX lingo) laying in her front yard. I went over and there were these 2 baby somethings with umbilical cords still attached. I picked them up and brought them home and later discovered they were squirrels. I used to get up all through the night every 3 hours and hand feed them. I tried to get them to a wildlife rehabilitationist but since every squirrel, raccoon, possom, snake, deer, gator ....had been affested they had no room. Word got out amongst the golf course maintenance crew and they kept bringing me more.............I ended up with 22 squirrels.
Here are some pictures of their journey

This was during the last Hurricane and we had no power and we had to keep them in our bathroom.

wow....bet the kids loved that....did all of them survive?

I'm just smart that way. :lmao: :lmao: of course, I looked them up. Gee I couldn't type that fast let alone spell all those words. I think I have dyslexic spelling because I spend have my time posting, backspacing to correct stupid typing errors. you could never read my posts if I didn't. Thanks to Ispell.
