We had a wine tasting event on the 2005 EB repo. It was a total pain for the organizer, long story, but very fun for us! Everyone brought a bottle of wine from their region of the country and sent her the info ahead of time. The event was in Rockin' Bar D and she had it all set up beautifully. I am no good at estimating, but I would guess there were at least 150 - 200 people who participated and close to 100 bottles of wine to sample.

Michelle--

Since you have experience with this event and know some of the pitfalls, can we nominate you to the planning committee?

What is this. Usually when a major storms hit, the maternity wards in 9 months are filled. But not with this group of DISers. You East Coasters are putting up about 6 pages an hour.

How do you expect us at work to keep up?

Hope everyone is staying safe and warm.

 Jeff,

Safe and warm here buddy!!!

Well this East Coasters DH is working - no snow days for our men in blue. And as usual, I am multi-tasking, DISing, studying, cooking and watching TV. DS is outside playing in the snow - the the ice finally changed back to all snow and we're supposed to get another 4-8 inches of the stuff - bleech!

I don't have much time to post on this thread or even follow it :sad1:
but I am also joining all of you on this cruise. We have 2 adults, 2 kids 13 and 11 by that time in a cat 6.

I have emailed Lisa our information and wanted to thank her for keeping this list and all the information that I am sure will eventually be there

That is just the cutest thing. :goodvibes I am going to have to tell DD about her so that she can start emailing again. She liked that last cruise. Your DD will be in the 8-9 group in the lab on this cruise, right?

Yes she will. She will be soooooooo excited! :goodvibes

We're already at capacity for a non-suite stateroom. We can't add another child before cruise time.

Although, I bet a lot of people are enjoying having a snow day on Valentine's day.

Yeah I was pretty excited to have a snow day. Iwoke up at 5:40 to get DD up for school but checked the TV and saw we had cancelled. I am very surprised they cancelled because it is Counting Day and also because we had 2 days last week and Utica hardly ever gets snow days. We have been known to be in school when every school district around us is closed. WE live one mile from Rochester and they are always closed and we are open. Go figure.

Except now I don't feel very well, thinking I might have caught something my DS was dealing with this past weekend. At least I won't spoil Valentines Day since Mark is still out of town. But he did get me some beautiful roses for the day.

Our school is using yesterday's attendance for count day. I heard that Detroit will use tomorrow for their count.

I still came into work today. We leave next Thur for our cruise and I hate to use all my personal business days this early in the year. I like to have a couple of days so I'm not out of time just in case.

Wyandotte use to be the one that always would hold out too. But the past couple of years our superintendent seems to go with the rest of the area. I'm sure it's a tough call to make.

The days of Snakebites, Alabama Slammers and T-Kill-ya shots are long over. It's beer and wine anymore with an occasional Konk Kooler or Painkiller tossed in. It's not like I can't hold my liquor as I get older. I just prefer to be able to hold my head up the next day.

I didn't try a drink until after my 21st bday. I have always been a cheap date since half a wine cooler or a weak rum punch is my limit. There is only one beer that I think tastes good...and I can't remember what it is. LOL! It has been so long since DH has had it. He drinks Corona now. I do know that we picked it up in Canada.

Just got back from taking Angelina to school, luckily, the school is just around the corner from us, I still can't believe they actually opened the schools today as the roads are a mess.

Oh well, I'm in the house until it's time to pick Angelina up this afternoon.

:confused3 I just don't get it. We're about 100 miles north of you in the Poconos and yesterday at 10am they announced early dismissal. THERE WASN'T EVEN A FLAKE OF SNOW IN THE SKY!!! By 8:30 pm last night, when there was less than an inch, school was already closed. It's snowing again, after 4 hours of sleet, and there are already closings listed for tomorrow. :confused3

I know that is their policy in PC but don't know if they have control over the situation in CA at the port. CA handles some things differently...like people wit passports going thru a different line for customs than the ones with BCs.

Doesn't everyone have to have passports by then?
