We really do need to find out if the port will let us bring bottles on board or if we need to smuggle the wine/et al in our luggage..

:scared1: :scared1: I hadn't considered that :scared1: :scared1:

I like to bring some booze aboard, not only to enjoy on our verandah, but mostly so we can use the $$ for pics & excursions.

Did I mention I'm cheap with a capital C

Except for the actual booking of the cruise.....

I think I have alot of kindred spirits here in that respect! :rotfl:

Just got back from taking Angelina to school, luckily, the school is just around the corner from us, I still can't believe they actually opened the schools today as the roads are a mess.

Oh well, I'm in the house until it's time to pick Angelina up this afternoon.

Exactly why we won't know until the first MR cruise that summer.

But they've done cruises there before. This is not like it's the first time so we need to wait until the first cruise there in 2008... it's been done before so SOMEONE out there that went on those cruises already knows the answer to this question.

On our 2004 Lost At Sea Cruise there where alot of posters and DHs named Bob. After a while, all the men were just called Bob....whether they like it or not......made thing really easy, only had to remember the women's names :lmao: :lmao:

Most of California is smoke free - restaurants- malls. You will find select hotels that do have smoking rooms.

Happy Valentines Day
to all

Paula

Yeah! Today is my Friday.TGIF:thumbsup2
I almost feel guilty it's nice here today. I hope everyone stays safe today and doesn't do something foolish like go driving on the ice!!!!

Now since you are all stuck in the house today, I'm sure it will be impossible to catch up tonight. Have a few Dr. runs tomorrow am but will catch up with everyone:goodvibes

Well gosh that stinks. If people are already mad is it really a wise idea to then punish everyone by making it where they can't rebook onboard for another cruise after that one was messed up by weather? I'd have been furious not about the weather but about not being able to rebook onboard!

In order for this to happen, the abuse the CM was receiving was terrible. :( Donna left the desk in tears a couple times because of the people yelling at her. I don't feel that anyone has to tollerate that kind of behavior. I think that people were able to call in after they got home for a few days to make reservations with the onboard discounts in that case because of the extreme circumstances.

I've read several trip reports and threads about the 2005 repo. I don't recall anyone saying they had a problem taking drink onto the ship.

I'm trying to figure out if I should pack the items in checked luggage or in a carryon.:confused3 (soda, water, and liquor:banana: )

RayOVac!! :lmao: :lmao:

Wanna hear something funny.......the blender has a rechargeable battery pack. I don't even need batteries!! But it's funny and we'll keep it going!
I'm not sure how long the battery lasts before it has to be recharged, but Enna knows how to get power out there on Secret Deck 7!!

People are so stupid. You take a cruise during hurricane season -- what do you expect? Sunshine all the time?

It's like people they showed on the news complaining about the flights being cancelled yesterday. You can't win -- last year they were complaining that they hadn't shut down the airport when they had that crash at Midway that killed a kid.

I don't understand why they were picking on her? She's just the lady to make reservations for future bookings... right?
I don't understand anyone making a fuss over weather because that can't be controlled by anyone bug G O D, but at the very least take complaints (justified or not) to those that are there to handle such customer complaints... not the lady that takes future ressies for future cruises. For crying out loud. What was wrong with those people?

(and they got free drinks too. I mean geesh LOL)

Ps. I would have been fine once finding out I could just call later to get the same onboard rebooking discount/etc. Personally I wish they'd do that all the time- like a week or something afterwards. Such a pain to have to take up part of your vacation time to book the next vacation. Sometimes the lines were long, repeatedly, so it's not like you only spent a few minutes trying to rebook onboard.. could take days of trying.

You have to be since the cost of the room exceeded our vacation budget! :scared:

You are so right.
You can't win with some people.
Those same people irate over not stopping at some ports due to weather would be the same ones having a fit if they HAD tried to go to those ports and had some kind of problem/etc.

I recently sold a pair of Lakers tix on EBAY for about $550... not much thinking there... and if you had a pair of Police tix that could fetch $1500-3000...why couldn't you just sell the set you got and replace them with lesser tix and pocket the difference ... and in effect get a free Police concert? Granted ... not in the same location... but the arbitrage opportunity seems good.

You're well on your way to becoming a pirate, mate. :rotfl:

The way demand's been for the Panama Canal cruises....I've wondered what my cabin would go for on E-bay (if it could be transferred).

That's true, however I don't want to base my decision on what someone was able to do there three years before. I am interested in how the current staff is handling it when we go.

Oh sure, that's funny. But I bet if we guys started calling all the women "Bip" we'd never hear the end of it... :lmao:

Oh. Well I guess I didn't expect things would be different than then, I suppose it's a possibility.
