Hope he is feeling better. My dd is at a neighbor's house today because it's a snow day!

Thanks ...since he is home that means I dont get my walking in today , which means more time in the GYM to make up for it ...LOL

Time for me to clean up this house. I swear IDK how the kids keep hiding my kitchen table every day. I put everything away but it reappears by bedtime. :( It's their homework & craft table. OY!

SO.... I have been thinking.... Bad thing to do, I know.... but... I am wondering if those of us that dress up as POTC characters with the exception of CJS, Pirate ES, Mr. Gibbs, etc, will we be considered piratey enough for a pirate night or will people just think we are strange?

And do true pirates care? Heck No!!!!pirate:

Morning All - we have a snow day, or rather I should say ice day, today. The sleet is coming down sideways right now. We are supposed to get significant ice build-up before it changes back to snow. My DH cleared the snow from our driveway this morning around 6 am and you can't even tell he did anything now.

I'm going back to catch up from last night.

You said it Lisa - it exceeded our budget for this year AND next year :lmao: :sad1:

Luckily we have our DVC so I won't be too deprived :thumbsup2

::yes:: gotta love the DVC prepaid vacation or I could rent my DVC points and pay from my cruise - NAH...

I hope all the sickies start feeling better today! (Just don't breathe too hard in my direction! :lmao: )

Snow's finished falling here, but it's COLD!! The main roads were mostly cleared by this morning when I came to work, but it was quite interesting getting out of my neighborhood this morning!! :scared1:
I just had to sort of roll through stop signs to avoid coming to a complete stop...LOL
Then the last small street I drive to get out of my neighborhood is a hill that leads to a stop light. I got all the way up the hill just fine and then had to stop at the light. I tried to keep inching my way forward the whole time (again, coming to a complete stop would be bad!! LOL) But then when the light changed, I spun out a bit and I was afraid I was going to run off the road, but I straightened it out and was fine...But no such luck for another driver...he ended up spinning around completely in the other direction!! :scared1:

So anyway, even though it's cold, the sun's out today and hopefully it'll melt some stuff by the time I go home. :thumbsup2

Was this a western in 1/05? I was on one that missed both ports, offered free drinks and then a few fights broke out.:scared1:

Yes it was in January 2005!! If you were on Deck 9 either before or after bingo that day, we were the red-eyed girls that the band referenced. ;)

I know so many people were upset over that cruise and that a lot of letters were sent to DCL complaining, etc. Um, hello.. you booked a cruise!! That means you're out on the ocean. Duh! Reason would follow that weather might play into where you get to go. If I didn't want to miss certain locations, I certainly wouldn't be booking a cruise! My friends and I just sat in the lobby that evening laughing and laughing at the people. We even nicknamed one of the worst couples, Mr. & Mrs. Craba**.

RayOVac!! :lmao: :lmao:

Wanna hear something funny.......the blender has a rechargeable battery pack. I don't even need batteries!! But it's funny and we'll keep it going!
I'm not sure how long the battery lasts before it has to be recharged, but Enna knows how to get power out there on Secret Deck 7!!

Yes. Repeat after me...

Enna has the power.

Enna has the power.

Enna has the power.

...or at least she knows where we can find an outlet.

That isn't so uncommon up there though. If that happened down here in NC they would call in the National Guard.

I remember going up to Waterville in the summer to visit my GPs. We were out in jeans & tshirts loving the weather...probably in the high 70s/low 80s. Everyone who lived there was inside standing around the A/C window unit complaining about how hot it was. ;) I just couldn't understand what they were talking about.

Yeah... not to uncommon but as we usually only get one day off from work for snow a year, this is great! Still have 2-3 months of possible storms and the possibility of another day off. This is the first time in a few years we've had an actual Blizzard Warning though. But it's now 11am and I think we only have like 2 inches of snow! LOL Supposed to get much worse but it will be hiliarous if it doesn't.

Just ordered hubby's Valentine's Day present--a stateroom credit. Hope he likes it!

OH! And yesterday I had mentioned that I was going to try that cookie recipe...It turned out I did not have the brown sugar. :sad1:

BUT I did end up making brownies...I adjusted the recipe a bit...added a little less cocoa, a little more sugar, and then I added about a cup of the chocolate/peanut butter chips...They turned out DELICIOUS!!!

Jen came home from work right before I put them in the oven, and she licked the bowl. She said, this is the best batter I've ever tasted!! Is this a box mix?!!? :faint:
I said "NOPE! I made it from scratch!!!" :teeth:

Happy Valentines Day Everyone!!!!

Snow day here today too. Nice Surprise this morning. We went out to clear the driveway and the snow had drifted off our drive on to the neighbors.:rotfl2: But we were nice and DS and I cleared their drive as well as the sidewalks in front of ours and their houses. There was about 10" on the front walk.

On our 2004 Lost At Sea Cruise there where alot of posters and DHs named Bob. After a while, all the men were just called Bob....whether they like it or not......made thing really easy, only had to remember the women's names :lmao: :lmao:
Probably why my family always responds when I call them "George"

Unfortunantly I have witnessed CMs being yelled at for far less. :( Some people have the "I PAID FOR THIS CRUISE AND I AM GOING TO GET MY WAY" disease. It is very sad. There is also nothing that GS CMs can do if it is raining outside or if the Captain decides that it is not safe to dock at a port...yet they are the ones who get yelled at.

The one time we stayed up in the Concierge rooms on the Magic, they had us meet in one of the bars, to help us make all of our reservations for our week. Hair braid, CC activites, stuff like that. It was really nice. Well, there was a guy there who had the Walt or Roy, (not sure which) and he was yelling at the CM because he had to actually come to the bar to make plans and they should have been coming to his suite to help him make plans. After all, HE was on vacation. I felt so bad for the CM she was in tears because this guy was so nasty to her.

::yes:: gotta love the DVC prepaid vacation or I could rent my DVC points and pay from my cruise - NAH...
Hmmm??? That might be a great idea. Have to talk to Disneypilots about trying that.

Well, I hope everyone has a great day today.
