Lisa,

It depends on how fast the raft is, but we would take DS in a second.

We took him on a two hour or so (12 mile) raft ride down the Colorado from the base of Hoover Dam in Las Vegas and he loved it.

If the sights are cool and the ride is not to wild, it would be fun.

DS was 4 at the time.

Yes, that is the question. DD doesn't like coasters & DS use to but he didn't in December. :confused3

When I started saying BIP I honestly thought those were the first three letters. Never stopped to spell it all out before. It's like code for the spell. ;) Nothing bad was intended by it. :goodvibes
I totally knew you'd misspelled it. but then others kept spelling it that way LONG after it was well known that I didn't care for it. :lmao:

No he stayed home in OKC. The worst part of the trip was that my 18yo girl dog died while I was away. We were very close.:sad1:
So sorry.
Paula

BIP, were you asking about diving in Acapulco?

My BIL dove in Ixtapa (north of ACA) and said the dive was o.k. but not great. You don't get the colorful fish like you do in the Caribbean. Plus, you can't go as deep.

We tried snorkeling in Puerta Vallarta and Huatulco and that wasn't good either. Both times were in shallower bay areas, but there wasn't much coral.

You may want to have your DH wait until the Caribbean, but unfortunately there is only Aruba that we stop at.

Ah, good info to know.
So you can't go as deep in some places and the diving isn't as good?
The thing is- when I look for info about dolphin swims, so far all I come up with is Aruba! If aruba ends up being the only good place to dive AND the only place to do a dolphin swim... we're going to have real problems over here....... LOL

so is that "bippy" inside the captain's plane messing with thy controls?

Has anyone stayed at the Courtyard Anaheim at DL Resort on South Harbor Blvd? It says that it is right across the street from the park. Right now it is between that & the Fairfield Inn down the street. TIA.

Sorry Lisa, I haven't done those two, but I've done those chains and always had good luck. Clean and comfortable. I'd look at a map to see if they are "right across the street". We've seen some that say how close they are, but they're not. I would say if they are between the HoJo and Disney Way, you're right where you want to be. Even if you go as south as Katella, you should be in good shape.

We've only done the DL Hotel and I think it's the Howard Johnsons (Mousesavers had a good rate there and always seems to).

If it is more of a "float" down the river, then I think you'll be fine.

Even with a 2 rapids, it shouldn't be too intense.

Good Evening, I have been lurking on forum threads seeing if I missed anything:rotfl2: Does anyone know if Ducky Williams will be on board with us??? I have sailed with him two out of two times. I am hoping for three out of three.:thumbsup2

Many, many, many posts ago I believe I read somethng from UK Andrew about doing a dolphin excursion on Puerto Vallarta? I don't believe it was in a lagoon but he said his family really enjoyed. Maybe by 08/08 there will be dolphins at CC???

Hey we have a theme going. There are at least five of us with gross Amtrak stories. You all made me feel better because my story always made me feel embarrassed and soiled (pun intended) :lmao:

Hello folks...

... just checking in ... I set up a new computer for the kids and potentially - the parents too once I move the wireless hub back here so I can hardwire the cable modem into this computer (it had no wireless antenna). I hooked up an old 19" CRT for it and hooked up a 19" LCD for one of the notebook docks. I'm still using the little notebook LCD screen. Everyone seems to be happy now with their equipment. Later tonight I'll install office on the new computer.

So - in O'BWVs' posting it seems several folks have shared horror stories on AMTRAK. Evidently, my posting about taking a train cross country has encountered some resistance and criticism. Maybe now would be a good time to say - I was rying to be helpful.... that's all.

I am just working my way backwards here a couple pages before I step out to run errands.

TTFN...

I think they would if they are old enough to go ...I dont know if there is an age restriction or not ...

pirate:

Just looked at the Princess site and it said the minimum age was 12. I thought it would fun for the kids but if the age is 12 it may not be that tame.

Nooooo...it wasn't like that at all. Being wenches and all, a conversation started up about travelling, blah, blah, blah, Amtrak toilet horrors, Andy's flying horror, blah blah blah. No need to be defensive at all.:)

:mickeybar ......................... :tiptoe: , psst? ok wenches , while

i got the rest of the crew distracted...when are the times when
only wenches here?.....no reason per say, pirate:

Take a look at this website. They are based in PV. You might be able to get your dolphins in there.

http://www.vallarta-adventures.com/

They say they do scuba as well, but I don't remember Banderas Bay being that clear. We went in October one year at the end of their raining season and the water was murky. They said it was because the rivers run down from the hills into the bay and they bring the mud down. Since August is pretty much in the middle of their rainy season, I think the same would hold true.

The Beast is a classic. Just took my daughter on it last fall, she was almost 8 at the time. I wasn't much older than her when it was built. Kings Island was just purchased last year by Cedar Fair, which owns Cedar Point, Knotts Berry Farm and others. Cedar Point's about 3 hours from Kings Island. When you do your tour, you can buy season passes good for all. Check out the animation on the new coaster opening this year at Cedar Point called Maverick, it's a launching coaster (similar to Rock N Roller Coaster) with a 95 degree drop on the first hill (angles back in):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDqCvwb6e2k

Cedar Point also has the 120mph, 420ft high Top Fuel Dragster
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kCTlExoMbdM&mode=related&search=

And the 90MPH Millineum Force
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rSNKDMDMMo&mode=related&search=

How radical!

One of these days I'm gonna visit these parks! Thanks for the info! :thumbsup2
