Many, many, many posts ago I believe I read somethng from UK Andrew about doing a dolphin excursion on Puerto Vallarta? I don't believe it was in a lagoon but he said his family really enjoyed. Maybe by 08/08 there will be dolphins at CC???

Well wouldn't that be nice! But I won't hold my breath on that happening...

Nooooo...it wasn't like that at all. Being wenches and all, a conversation started up about travelling, blah, blah, blah, Amtrak toilet horrors, Andy's flying horror, blah blah blah. No need to be defensive at all.:)

Thanks for the clearification...

I am just checking in before goin' out for last minute errands - and while folks are still awake and around coast to coast...

Now... back to my drifting backwards ta see what's gone on today...

:thumbsup2

The Beast is a classic. Just took my daughter on it last fall, she was almost 8 at the time. I wasn't much older than her when it was built. Kings Island was just purchased last year by Cedar Fair, which owns Cedar Point, Knotts Berry Farm and others. Cedar Point's about 3 hours from Kings Island. When you do your tour, you can buy season passes good for all. Check out the animation on the new coaster opening this year at Cedar Point called Maverick, it's a launching coaster (similar to Rock N Roller Coaster) with a 95 degree drop on the first hill (angles back in):

Cedar Point also has the 120mph, 420ft high Top Fuel Dragster

And the 90MPH Millineum Force

Those are some pretty wicked coasters, but how about these at Magic Mountain in Los Angeles (well Valencia really). Any coaster enthusiasts who are planning a few days at DL prior to the cruise should consider a trip to Magic Mountain as well. It's about 1 1/2 drive (could be less without traffic).

After riding this, my son and I declared Tatsu our new curse word.

Then there's X the Xtreme Coaster....can't really describe this one, like nothing I've ever riden.

We did the stingray excursion on CC in 10/05. The 'big boss' from the Living Seas was there since it had just begun. We had a great chat and she said that if all went well and the feedback was positive that they had intentions of expanding. After all, would it be like DCL to miss out on taking even more of our $$$? :rotfl2:

Has anyone stayed at the Courtyard Anaheim at DL Resort on South Harbor Blvd? It says that it is right across the street from the park. Right now it is between that & the Fairfield Inn down the street. TIA.

We stayed there for one night last Sept. We really enjoyed it. The hotel is rather new. It is Not across the street from the Parks. It's more like 2 or 3 large blocks away. The rooms are comfortable. Here's a photo of the room I took. Only bad thing about the hotel, only one elevator.:scared1: So it did take a few minutes to wait for the elevator.

I am ssoooo not folding laundry right now.

BIP! I can't believe you caved!!

Snorkel/Scuba - not for this wench!!
I can't explain it, I'm an adventure junky - skydiving (check), Arctic Ocean Polar Bear Plunge (check), surfing (check), whitewater rafting (check), bobsledding (check), rock climbing (check), double lutz (check), you get the idea...

I'm a good swimmer, very comfortable in the water, but something about snorkeling FREAKS ME OUT! And FORGET scuba! I think is has something to do with the lack of peripheral vision & rendering just about every other sense useless.

I went to MM as a kid and that was the first place I'd ever heard the term "white knuckler" ride. I had a blast with my DMom. Haven't been back in about 20 yrs though.

You could use this type of seat. Might cushion the turbulance.

I just had to say I showed this to my spouse and she roared with chuckles. What a riot... especially with the little brown balloons!!!

Edited in... My daughter just saw this image of the balloon toilet and she's giggling her head off!

You really should reconsider. DH talked me into trying Scuba about 15 years ago. I couldn't master a snorkel so there was NO WAY I was going to scuba. To make a long story short, I played in the pool with the tank, regulator and mask. Breathing with a reg is soooooooooo easy! And my mask has panels that do allow for peripheral vision. It is paradise! And I would imagine hearing the bubbles under water masks hearing in a much similar fashion to falling from a perfectly good airplane. :rotfl2:

Take a look at this website. They are based in PV. You might be able to get your dolphins in there.

http://www.vallarta-adventures.com/

They say they do scuba as well, but I don't remember Banderas Bay being that clear. We went in October one year at the end of their raining season and the water was murky. They said it was because the rivers run down from the hills into the bay and they bring the mud down. Since August is pretty much in the middle of their rainy season, I think the same would hold true.

Thanks again for the info!
So if the water is murky- I assume it is murky where they do the dolphin swim too? See I can't handle murky water while swimming with dolphins. I need to be able to see thru the water to make sure where the dolphins are (and where anything else, including tiny fish, might be near me).
I was thinking it would be clear water! ack!

Alan and Adam would probably love to go. They look too wild for me.

Good Evening, I have been lurking on forum threads seeing if I missed anything:rotfl2: Does anyone know if Ducky Williams will be on board with us??? I have sailed with him two out of two times. I am hoping for three out of three.:thumbsup2

no info - but I am really looking forward to the possibility!!!!:)

We did the dolphin swim in Alcapulco in 05. It was alot of fun. The price included an individual pic and video for all. I would recommend it.

I'm not much of an adventure junky. I was a tomboy as a child but a very careful one (ie: no stitches, no broken bones, etc. LOL I did the same stuff as my sister but she was always getting hurt-I was just "careful"). My husband is an adrenaline/adventure junky- but not me... I'm like the opposite of that. I like fun stuff that is SAFE (ie: rides at Disney for instance). So I guess I enjoy things that are fun and can be adrenaline pumping but only if I don't have to WORRY about what could go wrong/etc. Because worry I do... worrywart by nature.

I could probably handle rafting but the rest- forgettaboutit.

Snorkeling only bothers me because of the fish. I have a big phobia of sharks and water where sharks "might be". I grew up with Jaws and apparently it affected me. So I snorkel, but I get kinda panicky while I'm doing it.. I push thru the panicky feelings and do it- but I just don't think I could do the really deep water like with scuba diving and such and like swimming around under there with big fish and small sharks and stuff. When I snorkel, I can snorkel until someone mentions a barracuda nearby, for instance. Then it's all over for me at that point. LOL

I've swam with dolphins quite a few times, mostly in Mexico (Yucutan). Now that I'm thinking of it, the water was always cloudy, to say the least. A lot of that has to do with the depth of the water necessary for the dolphins. And yes, there are little fish around but they won't bother you at all.

And to address your fear about sharks...dolphins attack them. They apparently saw Jaws too and don't like bullies either! :-)

finally caught up - but am gonna have to say hi and bye!!!! - way too tired..

thank you all for the laughs - and the great info today!!!:thumbsup2 :)
