i am almost a nyc person i was born in Yonkers,Ny, but now We live in Fishkill so we are somewhat close to each other...

And BTW all you Brooklyn/Staten Island/NYCer's out there - I'm originally from Queens - LIC/Astoria area. I no longer have the accent most of the time but give me a drink or two and it comes right back out!

Hi old neighbor. I grew up in Brooklyn and moved out to LI in76. My best friend moved to SI, back to Bklyn,then SI and NJ. Now she amd my mom have the real accent and my kids get a kick when she says cawfee (coffee).I never really had a bad accent but as you said, get me off guard and sometimes it does slip out. We'll have to see who has the best terdy terd street

Wow, they just plowed my street - we barely go an inch of snow, the plows don't usually come out until we get three inches and we don't get plowed until two or three days later! These guys are desparate!

I've been here almost 19 years now, I moved here when I turned 20. The reservior is beautiful - I forget where but there are pics of the towns that are buried under all that water, before they build the reservior. Supposedly there is an airplane down there also.

That'd be me. I love my cawfee and I nevah met a "R" that I liked or used. Think Barbara Streisand in Funny Girl - Hello Gorgeous. That would be my accent. Like I said I wear it proudly. My DH grew up around the corner from me - no accent. Go figure.
