Well THAT's good planning on their part!!

DS's school was late on getting the word out today too. He is off.

The main school system in our area, Milwaukee Public, was adamant last night that they were NOT going to close today. Well at 4:30 this morning they decided to close the schools. Guess they must have got a lot of flack.

It was -14/-32WC when we got up this morning in MKE. Out by us it was -20/-39WC.

Yeah, yeah, yeah...Don't brag...While I sit here shivering bacause it's MAYBE 20 degrees here in my office!!
OK, so it's not THAT cold. But I just checked the thermostat, and it's set at 75, but it's actually 45!
I guess it worked too hard over the weekend...At least it's not 7 degrees like it is outside!! ACK!

Well, break is over and here I go into the "FROZEN TUNDRA" hope I make it through the day, I should though, I have three layers of clothes on!!!

BTW, I will be using your 3 layers of clothes excuse to explain why I look heavier after 15 days eating all that food on the Magic. Unfortunately, I won't be able to peal the "layers" off that quickly.

Yeah, I think I would just stay in bed...under the covers...with my laptop...
I don't think my car would start in temperatures like that! LOL
It hesitated to start here this morning! I can't imagine THAT cold!!

You know, I complain, but I'm actually really glad we're having a good hard freeze. Maybe the allergens and mosquitos won't be quite as bad this spring and summer!

I was just reading an article last week about how the NFL donates the useless merchandise to a charity that gives it to people in needy countries. The article had a picture of some guy in Uganda with a "Seattle Seahawks NFL Championship" hat.

DMIL thought DFIL paid deposit and vise verisa (sp sorry) so thier room got cxld for not paying the deposit they realized this morning and when they went to call it was too late
my sis has a room however i dont know if it a quad to book DS in i guess ill find out in the next couple days
im not gonna cancel now ill wait it out hopefuly a room will open for them

Hopefully it will work out for them. When we went in EB in 05, I tried for what seemed like months to get a room. I think we finally got one about 4 months out.

and i thought it was cold where i live in new jersey at 13 degrees

Yeah, that would be a great thought, but being the nice DH that I am, I took DW to work today so she didn't have to park in the far away parking lot. (her company has 5,000 employees, so a very large parking lot). And in doing so, we had to wake DS up. Oh well, guess he doesn't get all the joys of a school cancellation day.

I'm seriously all glassy-eyed right now, trying to ignore the fact that I can almost see my breath right here at my desk...
I'm now relaxing on a deck chair, deck 9 , with my ipod, a good book, and a cool drink in my hand...

Well that didn't take too long to catch up - only 10 pages from when I signed off last night until this morning.

I thought it was cold here at 9* this morning - it was in the -teens last night with the windchill .

I've got my little space heater cranked up here in my office. We decided this year that we would attempt to do our part to help minimize global warming and keep the office at 68* during the day and bring it down to 60* at night - needless to say, my office was 50* this morning but has now warmed up to 71!

Schools were not closed here either - I think that for some reason they think we are going to get clobbered with some major snow, so their holding on til the bitter end. All it means is these kids will have 6 snow days that they are going to get back by extending spring break and Memorial Day weekend.

Well I have to do some real work today so I can earn the moola to pay for this "Trip of a Lifetime" - have a great day everyone!

I've got my little space heater cranked up here in my office. We decided this year that we would attempt to do our part to help minimize global warming and keep the office at 68* during the day and bring it down to 60* at night - needless to say, my office was 50* this morning but has now warmed up to 71!

I have a little space heater here too, but it isn't mine, it belonged to the person here before me. And the plug looks a little dark and burned. I'm thinking maybe it's not safe to use...LOL

So I'll just be cold...better than burning the place down!

Good Morning for sunny SE MI! It's -4* with a wind chill of -25*! But it is sunny. All the school districts around here are closed, including ours. I heard at 6 AM told dd and went back to bed for an hour than called in to work. I guess it is going to be a quite day there a lot of people have called off.

Ok, temperatures below freezing and we just had a freakin' FIRE DRILL. Smart idea -- send everyone out in the cold. We did just announce we are laying off 3500 more people -- maybe they think if we catch pneumonia, they won't have to pay severance.
