We have early dinner seating, would it be tacky to change clothes before going to the show??

On non DCL cruises we would not change before the show. It made it seem more special, to dress up for dinner and a show. But on DCL I saw many people change before the show. I even did change on a few nights. But on formal night, I kept my formal on since that was the only night I was wearing it and I wanted more than a hour and a half usage out of it.

Happy Birthday Linda!!!!!

It is my understanding that since the boat goes to Cartagena, you need a passport, even if you don't get off the boat.

I can't believe people are even thinking about leaving the country without a passport!

Planning is going great..I have my dress/tiara (both disney fairytale line) and we have our rings..I'm all set!

We are starting to look/narrow down venues now....so many choices!

Anyonw who planned a wedding is there a question you wished you asked a vendor/venue but didn't while planning your wedding!? I would love to know...making sure I am covering all bases and questions!

Stop by the room say hello...our room is just a walk in closet (lol) but we are on the ship!

Definately join you for some wine!

Okay well don't be surprised if you get a knock on your door some afternoon! ;)

There a couple of things that got really got screwed up at our wedding including the main dish. I asked what Chicken La Reine was & being young & naive I didn't realize it was basically the same damn thing as Chicken a la King, except it was for the queen "La Reine". But when I asked the coordinator what it was she specifically said it was an herb chicken. So I thought okay, that sounds basic enough for all my guest to enjoy. But when they served dinner, I was extremely upset and very loudly stated, "OMG I'm serving chicken pot pie to my guests!" Everyone heard me so it was I mortified on so many levels. Plus my band stunk big time & I wish I had really put my foot down with DH & insisted on a DJ which is what I wanted to begin with. My uncle got up to sing at one point & nobody wanted him to get down from the stage because he was so much better than the band. :lmao:

But all in all, the ushers put on a dance show, my brother-in-law got up to do a hilarious joke, and everyone told me it was the funnest wedding they've ever been to. I already mentioned what happened in the lounge after my wedding (for the new people....it involved multiple arrests but DH & I were not involved) & that added a big of excitement. People still talk about my wedding to this day, but maybe not for the right reasons?  Anyway...my point? Don't sweat the small stuff....it all works out in the end. ;)

First cruise I had my hair done at the spa but it took longer than I thought it would, so I didn't have time to change before the show (we had late dining obviously) but I wanted to change & I was a bit out of place, because everyone was already dressed. Since then, I just do my own hair because it wasn't worth the stress or the price.

I have something you need!!! Just something for the critter in your signature.;) :thumbsup2

Another update complete, this one courtesy of (the incredible, phenomenal) Craftymouse .....

CARTAGENA

One downside, she makes my OMD (Obsessive Mouse Disorder) appear in the normal range!!!

Only kidding, but she put it together since about 4 this afternoon!

Wow. Very cool.

All of you were so kind to wait for us to return from our trip to DL today before starting the pirate: run. It has been raining around here since Thursday and the crowds decided to stay home today. We walked on everything from Space Mountain to POTC. Went on Buzz lightyear 3 times never stopping in line. We had lunch as it started to sprinkle, so we decided to make a short day of it and headed home. About half way home it started raining and all are glad that we are warm and cozy in our jammies.

Here is a link that explains where you need a passport
PASSPORTS

If I'm travelling off US soil I need a passport! LOL! DH and I get our kids passports when they are young so that we are ready for a trip on short notice! LOL!

OOOh good idea, do laundry on the night before we leave Disneyland - only I am at Hojos, I will have to look into whether or not there is a laundry facility available there.

There should be since they have a lot of families staying and going to DL.

It's got nothin' to do with Pirate, but it sure is funny....

Abbott and Costello in the 2000's
If Bud Abbott and Lou Costello were alive today, their infamous sketch,
"Who's on First?" might have turned out something like this:

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Very funny Esteri

I had been planning on changing before the show:confused3
But that could change:rolleyes:
This will be my first cruise with a formal night, so I'm not sure how long I will keep the dress on:confused3 (At least long enough for a picture:goodvibes )

Kevin and I were discussing sending a box ahead this evening. He wants to buy the booze and pop here, send it,the costumes and formals to port and have them brought to our stateroom, because he seems to think that we can only carry on 2 suitcases a piece. :confused3 I was thinking of just sending the costumes & formals ahead, then buying the rest in Anaheim. I thought we could just carry the 'beverages" on ourselves. What do ya'll think?

We usually change after dinner. 1) Saves laundry. On our 10 day Alaska trip this worked out well. 2) to be comfortable. I would much prefer to be in my shorts than in slacks and shoes.

Debi we too whatever fit in the back of our Odyssey when we drove to San Pedro in 2005. Stop at the curb and give it all to a porter. We never touched any of the bags. They don't care how much you bring aboard YOU are the one that has to figure out how to get it all in your room and live with it. :rotfl2:

It may just come to a dollars and cents thing, but what did Ben Franklin say about penny wise and dollar foolish.

It can be expensive to get a passport for a family of 5 or 6 ....

But then, in another year you will need it for Carribean ports too....

Oh, I forgot to mention that we finally got to go on Finding Nemo Submarine ride today. It was only a 10-15 min wait (only thing we stood in line for). It was great. It was the first time that my girls have every gone on the submarine ride. I can't remember when the last time that I went on the old ride. Anyway it was great. Much better than the one at Epcot. Alot of that had to do with being in a submarine.
