Happy 2008 - the year of our rum-drinkin', cake eatin', piratin' TOAL!

We had a nice night. DH won the family air hockey tournament - the stinkin' swabbie. The boys made it all the way to midnight & they are still sleeping at 9 am. We don't have much in the way of plans for today. At some point DH is going for a run and the kids and I will either skate or bike ride, depending on what the trail looks like. The boys got Rollerblades for Christmas. We're excited about watching the outdoor NHL game this afternoon & I'll watch the Rose Bowl. I grew up in Ohio, but I'm an Illinois fan - my dad was in grad school there when I was born. Oh, and I'm making traditional-good-luck red beans and rice for dinner. Yum! Much better then MIL's pork roast and saurkraut

I have been lurking and have seen everyone's beautiful dresses and thought I would share mine.

Dress 1 I wore on our Western this year, and the only issue I have with it is that it is too short. It comes up to my ankles in the front and drapes down in the back. It doesn't look bad, and it does help not having to trip over it while walking. Although I had to hold the back of it a little as the train part of it kept getting stepped on. It is very disney though, that's what I love about it most.

Well, we're finally back from my parents and I have all my regular equipment back.

Santa left Issac (DS6) a really cool card in his stocking this year. Don't know if you remember that Issac insisted on giving Santa his card key from the Magic last year so that Santa could go on a cruise. Well, here's the reply...

Just want to wish everyone a HAPPY NEW YEAR and all the best in 2008. The TOAL is only 230 days away - but who's counting We had pretty boring NYE here. Watched a few DVD's and then on the computers a bit. DH and I weren't paying to close attention to the time and DH heard some fireworks going off. NYE is our special night as that is when we met each other for the first time - 18 years ago - we got married 10 months later.

I think I've got my signature figured out, so I'll see if it works with this post.

Has anyone who's booked to go on the Jolly Pirate Sail/Snorkel found out about their cancellation policy - if you decide to do something else?

DH & I had been friends for three years, but we started dating 18 years ago last week. We waited 3 years & 10 months to get married, pesky college and whatnot got in the way. When is your anniversary? Ours is Oct. 8.

I am working today got to get my year end closed out. We leave for vacation tomorrow morning so I probably won't get a chance to post again as
Alan and Adam aren't packed. So tons of last minute things to get done. I'll share some pictures of Costa Rica when we get back. I still haven't decided if I am bringing my laptop, but I should. I bought Alan a really small camcorder for Chhristmas that you just download to the computer it only holds an hour of video--guess I just talked myself into it.

May 2008 bring health and happiness.

OK, we're signed up for the Jolly Pirates. No confirmation yet, but I hope we are in. I had a moment of panic. I didn't put in a second choice for date, because, well, I do't have one! The site bonged at me to choose an alternate date. I thought 'Ohhh Nooo it's all booked up!' But then when I put the exact same date in as my second choice, the reservation went through.

DH was impressed that I saved $20 (online booking discount). I tend to tell him how much I save on these vacations, not how much we spend!

My sentiments exactly. 2008 - Year of the TOAL

Here is a picture of the dress I got this summer for $10 at Kohl's. It is a little big, but by the end of the cruise it might fit! Is it OK for formal night? I am not much for long dresses I will never wear again (unless I talk my DH into another cruise).

And here is the puzzle my DD finished this morning. I gave it to her for Christmas. It is one of those photo mosiac puzzles.

Me too and just because I'm paranoid. The date we are in Aruba is 08/28/08 correct ? I have this nightmare that I book the wrong date and by the time I figure it out it is too late

I have stayed out of the Aruba pirate trip as my DD, gets seasick on smaller boats, she is ok on the Magic but is sick on anything smaller.

Us too - DD gets ill on small boats. It is hard to get her on the tenders too but we usually ask if we can board last right before it leaves

Tigger Tails are my son's favorite. Personally I don't care for the orange colored white chocolate. I much prefer the fudge covered marshmallows. Same thing as the Tigger Tail, but milk chocolate fudge instead of orange white chocolate.

I don't think we are allowed to have multiple threads for the same cruise. I have a feeling that may get closed.

I understand that with the size of this thread the actual excursion discussions can get lost. But our great webmaster is very good at summarizing all the information on our website. If you don't have the information on it, please pm Tom31b for more info.

Thanks, she loves them. I also bought her two others, she can't wait to wear them. My biggest concern is that they fit! With puberty and growth spurts, but I made sure they all had room in them. Thankfully with receipts Kohls will give me all my money back!!

I'm very hesitant to book the Jolly Pirates. I just can't book this far in advance unless I know I can cancel. I know they said it would not be a problem if the ship didn't make the port. But my issue is that I don't know if I will make it. I really won't know for sure if I'm sailing until I make final payment in May.
