Say, does anyone know what the door sign rules are? DW wants to know how much can be covered? She's already planning out the signs :joker: but we need to make an extra banner as SIL's princess: birthday is 8/31!!! We'll have to find her some Piglet gear :goodvibes

Boy, I have a ton of reading to do.:coffee:

I just wanted to post this.http://disneyinvitations.com/panama/menus.pdf
Someone posted a link to the menus from the last PC sailing. (not sure if they are from the east or west repo)

That is great! I have the pictures of the actual menus showing everything for each night of the cruise but am waiting for the DIS gallery to come back up to post them.

Well, I finally got the banner to work in my signature. Now I feel like I belong here! :cool1:

You can pretty much cover the door as much as you like, but it is best if you don't use tape.

Oh my. I have literally been trying to catch up (here and there scrolling and reading!) since like over 5hrs ago. This is really too much. I had to make notes to keep up with what I wanted to post/respond to/etc! :rotfl2:

-diznyfan68- if that is true about not assigning staterooms until final pymts are made- I'm not sure we'll be on this cruise! Because I'm not paying for the cruise until I know for sure our staterooms are close to one another. If we made pymt in full May 2008- would we be able to get a full refund if we got our staterooms and realized we couldn't go based on the assigned rooms? I don't think so. So who would pay in full without knowing the rooms they are getting when they have more than one room and need them close together? Bah humbug to that idea. I hope they don't really do that!

- goofyforlife- did the transfer cost you mentioned include not only getting to port in Ca but also going from PC to the airport after the cruise? I wonder if they do transfers from airport to DL, DL to port, then port to airport? Oh and I also need to make door signs this time!

- DU booked me for 2 cat 5's for almost $18k even though they weren't supposed to be booking me! I received an email from them today. I had requested a quote awhile back but then emailed them about transferring from my TA to them and then on the 25th of Jan they said they couldn't do that so they'd cancel my request for a quote. I guess they didn't cancel it- and I must have been last on their list to get 2 cat 5's (2 adults in one room, 2 adults/1 child in the other room) for $18K! Good grief- the person that got the cat 1 room only paid $19K! That's what I call an outrageous price for cat 5's- atleast in my opinion.

-Stacey uhoh... what few little problems are you having to iron out? (what, me nosey? surely you jest)

-
Thought you might appreciate the quote so you can see the picture again.
Lisa, you thought right!

- paid my deposit so we're good to go- as long as we can end up getting staterooms close together later! My TA also said that we got cat 6 instead of 7 probably because that's all that was available at that moment- but she said she has me waitlisted for cat 7 AND she said that if we were to switch to cat 7 that the pricing for it would be at the same tier we paid for the cat 6. She couldn't tell me what tier we're at for our cat 6 and 11 right then (?? no clue why she couldn't) but from what I'm reading we're probably somewhere around tier 2. So in other words if she switched us to cat 7 we wouldn't pay the price for 7 what it is NOW, we'd pay what it was at the time we booked the cat 6. Does that sound right to y'all?

-mcmse2003- we're late dining. We have older children (at the time of the cruise they'll be 8,10 almost 11, and 14.5... we did late dining last time and I know we couldn't deal with early dining. It's too much of a rush for us for late dining as it is! So maybe we can link up early diners and late diners later on. :)

- note to self: must by Disney PJs that fit because all my other PJs don't fit anymore and somehow I don't think I'll fit in with extra large tshirt and yoga type pants which is my normal bedtime attire.

-jonesing- thanks for the airport information!

-raise your hand if you are on this cruise and you were on the May/June 2006 blabbermouths first double dip cruise! I'm just curious who all out there was on that cruise too- even if I didn't get to see you there.

-goofyontheHiSeas- seriously, if those CJS pajama pants hadn't been size small I'd have snatched them up for DH.

-what exactly does it mean if I'm actually excited I'll be on the same cruise as VerandaMan and family? He's like a celebrity now or something. LOL

- Lisa- will send you the info later, just need to get the pictures together to send also. Thanks so much for doing this! I think it's going to be quite a job since our group is so large! One question though- what is late WLE listed after dining???

Now I need to go update my sig! Y'all give me a second to do that- I don't want to come back to a 1000 more pages, y'hear me?

I'm still wading in paperwork but I took some time out to skim the posts. I'm excited about this cruise because the few times we have sailed when there are a lot of DISers, we haven't had time to participate in the group activities. On this one and the Med repo, we will have two weeks...yay!!!!!

lbgraves, I remember you with your nice, organized binders on 12/9...I can just imagine what you'll be packin' on this one! I was very impressed at your organizational abilities.

windermerejudy, I saw something about Ohana...is that in Aug. before the cruise? Heck, we should go there and party earlier...like this month maybe!! I love that place, but it's so hard to get ressies there (and probably even harder for me...I'll have to share my funny Ohana story later).

I am recovering nicely from the long workday, but we sail on Sunday so goodness knows that will be the ultimate recovery. :cool1: :cool1:

Thanks for vouching for me and my green binder last month, Barb! LOL! What a trip that was.

LOL! I graduated in 8/88 too.

Another '88 college grad here too! I was on the six year plan though because I decided to get married while still finishing college and it slowed me down a bit. I had to learn to bring home the bacon, fry it up in the pan and never let him forget he's a man! College kind of took a back seat that first year.

I'm still trying to perfect that frying thing!

I just ventured over to the regular boards and saw it posted that DCL doesn't plan to assign staterooms to anyone with a GTY until after final payments have been made in May 2008 - blech!

That is usually how it happens. Most people on our 12/9 with GTYs didn't get their assignments until a month or even less before.

Cute! "D A" is for Debi Ann and "Huffy" is for Huffman. And yes, I do ride a scooter...a Pink princess: Buddy125 named "Tink" But I' getting ready to trade her in on a 250cc motorcycle. Of course, I may have to put that off now to help pay for this trip....nah!:p

You go girl. I got my 883 Harley last year. We can go riding some time.

Ok, not to say this is not true, because it may well be. However, if this info is coming from one CM in DCL Ressies, I would want to clarify with a supervisor. I have had a rude awakening this week, and it is; some CM's are very knowledgable, and some just misunderstand the info they are given and pass that misunderstanding onto the us, the customers. And, some CMs just plain don't know what the heck they are talking about and decide to "shoot from the hip" and say what ever they feel like.

Even this morning, when I called to see what was going on with the Cat 4GTY, I had a CM tell me there was no such thing as an IC waitlist for this cruise. Nope, doesn't exsist. She says, "I have been here 3 yrs and at a another cruisline for 8 yrs so I know what I'ma doing and I can tell you there is no wait list...EVER". Asked to speak w/ a super and of course she was incorrect.

Yes, unfortunantly it has been that way since we have been cruising DCL since 12/03. :sad2:

Hi fellow baystater! How do you like this snowless winter so far? I'm loving it, but I don't ski. I just pretty much hibernate all winter long. :cold:

Yes I saw the stupid cartoon character they placed all over Boston on light bright screens scared the bajeebers out of a lot of people. I missed all the ruckus yesterday, because I was a bit busy booking a cruise!

And BTW, I saw that lil' grumpy was also trying to kiss up to our friend from Boston in the Suite. I'm going to see if I can set up a teeny weeny-meet & I'll be the one with a new best friend! :rotfl2: Personally I think we might've scared that person away talkin' about pirating the suite for a partaaay! pirate: :rotfl:

Well, since I am a skier I can't say that I am exactly thrilled. We have a week booked at Loon Mtn for upcoming Feb School break so I would just like one really big storm between now and then. After that, Sunny, clear skies & 70's please :rotfl: . I don't think I'm asking too much.

Did you see those guys on the news...thought it was a big joke :sad2: .

Yes, definately a mini-meet is in order. I have been going to area DIS meets for a few years now and the running joke is to bring the Mods attending the meets a gift (sorta a pay homage thing - all in fun). I think a really big kiss butt gift is in order here (are ya listening, RJAYL :listen: ....pressssents -she says in her Homer Simpson voice):rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Please allow myself to introduce, umm, myself. We are, tentatively, joining you on your foray to return the Disney Magic to its rightful berth. (I say, tentatively, in the sense that I have yet to figure out how to pay for this trip, although stock fraud is not out of the question, and we have to figure how to deal with our children missing the first week of 1st grade, 7th grade and 9th grade, but we have nonetheless placed our deposit on a pair of cabins (CAT 11 and CAT 6) and closed our eyes to the number of digits to the left of the decimal point on our quote).

So, who are "we"? "We" are a family of five from Chicagoland (GO BEARS!) and this will make our fourth Disney Cruise. I will, if they are nice to me, be bringing along SWMBO (a.k.a DW), DS-to-be-14, DS-to-be-12, and her royal highness, the Princess (DD-to-be-6).

I've read enough of the posts to get the general idea of the conversation (rum good, DCL reservations bad) and look forward to meeting y'all next summer.

That is usually how it happens. Most people on our 12/9 with GTYs didn't get their assignments until a month or even less before.

Oh please don't say that.
If that is truly going to be the case, I better not get my hopes up for this cruise. Because we simply CAN NOT go if we don't have rooms near one another and I'm not going to pay in full with no chance of refund if we cancel, before finding out if our rooms will be close to one another. That's a bunch of bull making the entire ship (or there abouts- very few people early in the morning were able to actually get stateroom numbers- most got gty) wait that long to find out where they'll be. now I'm bummed.

Ah the good ole days! I vividly remember watching Donny and Marie on TV and then lip-synching their album into a wooden spoon in front of a mirror. I also had a major crush on Shaun Cassidy, especially on the Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries!

Who's Shaun Cassidy?
:lmao: :rotfl: :lmao:
