8/17/08 Captain Jack's Repossession Repo Cruise to PC thru TPC Part 2

Wow! I just caught up - this working all day really eats into my DIS time

So are we going to burn the lime-green shirts (I suspect DCL would frown on that!!) or are we going to pick a lime-green day when we all wear them? If it turns out a lot of us are going to DL the day before the cruise, maybe we could all wear them then?

Would you believe the first "pop/rock" concert I went to was Shawn Cassidy? I was forced to go - a friend had a major crush and her dad said she could go only if I went with her because he trusted me to be "responsible"! I think we were about 13. The experience so traumatized me that I didn't go to another concert until I was in college (Police, Billy Joes, Heart, and a few others.) Since getting married, we just never find the time for concerts - we sing in a choir, are heavily involved in a garden club and are renovating a 100 year old house.

I was telling DH about the earlier conversations about Andy Gibb, Donny & Marie, etc. He said to tell you that Marie was really nice and Donny was a pain in the neck. Back in college, he was the student manager of the theater/auditorium and spent a day there with them when they were performing. Donny wanted to jump and do backflips on top of the schools best Steinway concert piano!

All this probably dates us I graduated college in '88 and DH was '89 (yes, I am older than him.)

I spent most of this afternoon speed reading the posts. When I left work we were at page 499. Came home and caught up.

Ah the good ole days! I vividly remember watching Donny and Marie on TV and then lip-synching their album into a wooden spoon in front of a mirror. I also had a major crush on Shaun Cassidy, especially on the Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries!

Andrew - Sending good wishes to your DD (& DW too). DD had tonsils and adnoids removed when she was 5 and I remember how nerve wracking it was.

Lisa - thanks so much for doing the website - big undertaking and I appreciate the work that must have to go into it. BTW, I do child care and can tell you that foam soap is the way to go . It may cost a little more, but it's worth it. Make something smell good and kids will go for it.

Stacey - Did you hear about your Cat 4 yet? BTW, how is Lisa these days?

I'm still wading in paperwork but I took some time out to skim the posts. I'm excited about this cruise because the few times we have sailed when there are a lot of DISers, we haven't had time to participate in the group activities. On this one and the Med repo, we will have two weeks...yay!!!!!

lbgraves, I remember you with your nice, organized binders on 12/9...I can just imagine what you'll be packin' on this one! I was very impressed at your organizational abilities.

windermerejudy, I saw something about Ohana...is that in Aug. before the cruise? Heck, we should go there and party earlier...like this month maybe!! I love that place, but it's so hard to get ressies there (and probably even harder for me...I'll have to share my funny Ohana story later).

I am recovering nicely from the long workday, but we sail on Sunday so goodness knows that will be the ultimate recovery.

I just ventured over to the regular boards and saw it posted that DCL doesn't plan to assign staterooms to anyone with a GTY until after final payments have been made in May 2008 - blech!

My son loves, video games, swimming, music, movies pretty much all the typical teen stuff.

This will be our first cruise, but I'm pretty sure he'll want to take part in all of the teen activities.
