So I saved $520 dollars yesterday...
I didn't buy a beautiful little black beaded dress at Ann Taylor ($450 ) and I didn't buy this one either

This one is only $80, so I might go back and get it if it's still there in a month & I would have it hemmed just above the knee. Both would be great for TOAL.

See, I'm frugal.

not sure why the photo link isn't working.

OMG I did that one year in my SAHM days. I pre-baked 9 gingerbread houses and a bunch of gingerbread men. It was crazy, but fun.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Mike.

I figure if you can't find at least some humor in every siituation, it's time to give up.

I'm glad Jay is OK, Stace & I'm glad you popped in. We missed you around here.

Great dress :thumbsup2

Mike so sorry to hear about your Grandmother!

Stace I am also sorry to hear about your DH's accident! Best wishes for a full recovery! :wizard:

Celestine I hope your Grandmother is well soon! :flower3:

Welcome to all the new posters! It's nice to see posts from some new people. Not that you "old folk" aren't great, but the more the merrier! :dance3:

I am so busy this time of year decorating, shopping, wrapping, cooking, etc. I don't know how you all do it! :confused3 Oh well tis the season I guess! :santa:

Can you believe it's snowing again? We already have more snow on the ground than we got last year & it just keeps coming! I'll take Florida...snakes & all any day!!! :cold:

Me either........ From time to time I will come across a little snake in the curb meter boxes, my skin crawls everytime I see one.

Although, one time when I was reading the Buisness Book, I opened the lid to one of our pit meters and saw a very large black snake, it must have been 8-10 feet long. I nearly passed out when I saw it. I called a co-worker and got the hook off his truck and was able to grab a hold of the snake and let it go in the field, about 50 feet away, from where I was working. From that moment on, I check out each meter pit before entering.

Last spring we had a litter of Huge black snakes born under the slab out front of our house. They were disgusting. Squirming all over the garden. :scared1: Seems we have a "birthing center" under the front slab. The year before was skunks. One night I turned on the light to find about 10 skunks crawing around in the garden.

Okay, so a thread with more than 82,000 posts is a bit intimidating, but I"m here to say that we just booked the Eastbound PC cruise! We are beyond excited! We wanted a Cat. 9 but there was only one 11 available. We took it and will continue to look for a 9. If we don't get it we don't get it...we're just thrilled to be onboard! There will be me(43), DH(42), DD(16) and DS(13). :wave2:

:welcome:

It's 82,000 pages of fluff.

Me too! We were also chosen for one of the DCL House Parties! Can't wait to share our photos & DVDs (and to make some BBCs, Konk Koolers & Palo's chocolate souffle') August is soooo far away!

Dh is looking forward to some Bahama Mamas, Planters Punch and Rum Runners!! :rotfl: :rotfl: I have quite the collection of different DCL/CC cups to use! :rotfl: :rotfl:

I have a few Disney recipes that I am going to dig out -- not the souffle though since I'm not a chocolate cake fan....... Actually I'ld rather have a cookie then a piece of cake! :rotfl: :rotfl:

CONGRATS!!! :thumbsup2

I found out this morning that someone that lives less then 10 minutes from us was selected to host a DCL House Party. I signed up on the site and put a blog message asking if she was going to be inviting outsiders to her party. We pass her housing development everytime we go to the mall, which is very often these days!!!

What a fun way to meet some new people that are DCL fans!!!

How Neat!!! I was tempted to sign up but never did!!!:headache: Tell Samantha, John and I would love to visit but we might be stuck at your house for days.:woohoo: :woohoo: We might not want to come back to the land of ice and snow.:lmao: :lmao:

I guess you don't want to hear that today it was in the high 70's...... It is supposed to get down to the 50's for Christmas. :rotfl2:

I don't know what is worse. Those black slimy snakes are what we see now and again. One was living under my wood deck out back. We would see his head pop up and it creeped me out. Haven't seen it for a few years now and thinking maybe he moved on. Hopefully. We are near a state park and have lots of critters at night. Once we had 2 racoons fighting in the tree outside making a racket.

pirate: ing, BEEcause that's the cutest thing I've ever seen!!

And I bet it is a honey cake. Looks good.

DHs MRI staus quo so Dr doesn't seem to be concerned. I guess it is a good thing. But poor guy. He had to do bloodwork 2 weeks ago.for an upcoming visit. That went ok as the lab we use is really good. Last week was the MRI and they didn't do a good job with the contrast and really pin cushioned him. He was not in the least a happy camper  . Then today they needed blood again for med levels and counts and the girl couldn't get anything on the first 3 attempts :scared1: and finally after around 10 min, found a good vein on the 4th attempt. Idiot kept asking him "What would you like me to do?" Like he had a choice? Dumb Add!!! ( I was ready to tell her to ask her boss what she should do about not getting any samples) Needless to say he left with 4 cotton balls taped to both arms. He wasn't amused. At all. I'm thinking this is why we never see the same face when we go.:sad2:

I already have the 10 but it's the rest that won't go away.

Hey Pirates

There's a thread going on about the houseparties. Some folks are offering to invite DISrs.
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1662206

Might be worth checking out. I recall someone in Central IL and I think Ohio offering.

I checked the houseparty website and there are a few hosts in my area. Just have no idea if they are DISrs or not. I'm not brave like Andy. I don't want to post on someone's party site. But if I find a DISr in the area, I'd got for that.

Yes we have a 71 minute programme on Christmas day, ( no adverts-BBC) With 'better the devil you know' Ms Kylie. French maid is a good discription.

We have Torchwood 2 starting in two weeks and Martha crosses over from Doctor Who to Torchwood working for UNIT.

DW back in the Spring for 13 shows.

Well I am sellling these on Ebay for £1m, highest bidder so far, Mr G Brown of Downing Street.

Andrew...

... I think my best solution for getting caught up is simply to buy each season on DVD. That makes for the most enjoyable viewing for me. Alas, right now I'm finishing up on viewing a HEROES DvD set.

Oooo Look.,... it's only 196 more postings til the next sprint concludes. Anyone up fer a friendly little run?

Thanks for not including me in the certifiable!!!! How ever you did knock me down with your light saber.:thumbsup2 See below!!!:lmao:

Hey Cheryl....

.... I thought we had already been "certified" already! < chuckles > And on your discovery of a Jedi image with that alternative conclusion - that's hilarious! What a hoot! Here's another varient:

javelinforce.gif

And NO, we've not been certified .... yet. Lil'G hasn't declared anything about us yet. So we're still more or less normal and .... INNOCENT. :goodvibes

Monica, to tell you the truth I can't believe I did it either, usually I'm not that forward about things, that's one reason why I didn't send in an e-mail to even request to hold a party in the first place. My personality type tends to turn inward when I am in a crowd of people, even with people I know. That's one thing about the boards, I can share my inner most feelings better in the written word. I'm usually pretty good in a one on one situation after I get to know someone, but put me with a group of people and I turn into a wallflower................

Thanks so much! You certainly are a welcoming bunch! I've taken 6 cruises but never really participated in the group stuff as I always felt like I was breaking into an established group. It is so much different here! Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm looking forward to meeting each of you!

Michele

Michele...

... well now, you're now officially a member of the crew! I'll bet you've never heard about the British navy prowling the docks and essentially kidnapping folks to "press" them into service in their navy? Those shore parties were called press gangs. An' you can now consider youself pressed into service as our newest member of the crew! < wink >

einstein_winking.gif

I do believe you'll find everyone to be cordial and fun - if not a bit gregarious and even rediculous sometimes. And... as for anyone else lurking and musing whether they should or not post a greeting ... well please do! As we could use a few more "hands" on deck to join as active crew! < wink >
