And I think us "novices" still stand half a chance with a good camera.....at least with digital, we can delete the bad ones! We're bound to get some great shots, though.

I like that. The law of averages are on our side. :thumbsup2
I have a Nikon Point and Shoot I like but always think I want a DSLR but I am afraid I would just get tired of dragging it around.
That and after having a Nikon for 5 years I still cannot figure out the settings.
I have some wonderful pictures of a perfect fishing pole and a COMPLETELY out of focus whale in the background. :sad2:

He wants to start in working on projects at the shop, but the doctor asked him to give it at least another week. It looked like the doc would have liked him to wait even longer, but I think he knew if he told my husband to wait, he's one of those who would go ahead and do it sooner, anyway. :sad2:
His middle and ring fingers are now the same length as his pinky finger...it will take some getting used to.

Good to see he wants to jump back on the horse!

:rotfl: :rotfl: I have LOTS of pictures like that. I think the SLR will help with that somewhat.....but when you only have one chance at a whale rising up out of the water, that just might be when the classes will come in handy! ;)

I hope no one minds ... I had to bring these images back ONE MORE TIME cuz they're so happy! What a wonderful bunch of kids ya have here Steph! And they're nice pictures too capturing the creative energy of the moment!

Thank you!!! We are a VERY happy family! They are great kids....maybe that's why we had so many! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

We are kinda in the same area. Let me know when you get specifics. We might be interested. There are a decent number of us DFW'ers, could make it a housewarming/DIS Meet combo.:)

That's exactly what I was thinking! :thumbsup2

Tracy, that's an AWESOME picture!! What kind of camera did you get?

Now to just get me to DLand or WDW so I have some good subject matter!

It's the Nikon D40x. I have quite a few that turned out well. I hadn't uploaded more yet, but here's a few more.

Oh Boy! I actually get to reply on 7 questions which were not originated by ME! Thanks Andrew!

1) Favorite SMILIES.... well... I'd have to say something that moves and pokes a little fun too... lke the Albert Einstein images with tounge sticking out

2) Well - in recent memory I'd say it would have to be the one that got me censured by the DIS police... yanno... the Union Jack designed candy bikini briefs

3) My favorite question(s) were ones with a Monty Pyton like origin - like "what is your favorite color? BLUE... er, no RED.... oh Nooooo! ArrrrgH! To understand this you're gonna have to rent the movie if ya havn't seen this before.

4) Ooo... the 1st kiss. I don't actually recall THAT as it's sort of a vague and distant memory. There wuz a lot goin' on when that 1st kiss happened. I CAN say that I have only kissed my spouse - as she was the ONLY young lady whom I ever kissed, dated or held hand with.

liar.gif.jpg

5) Those treasure chests they had on the ships a few years ago filled with plastic gems... well... we bought a couple in our early DCL cruises - but in recent years we resisted and ... well... one of the kids slipped a few gems she found on the floor into my pockets. I found them later in the evening and did not bother returning them. I know - technically it's petty penny ante theft - but if I did not do the deed then I believe technically I'm still .... INNOCENT! Now-a-days I do NOT allow the kids to slip out of a store with anything and I've obviously admonished them about taking things found in a store. We take NOTHING... except money (coins usually) found on the floor. Once, Julianna found a $20 bill in a swimming pool at a hotel. No one else was there so we did keep that one.

6) Nothing ... unless you're gonna count that Bently Azure I picked up in Grand Cayman a couple of weeks ago. So HEY!, I got it fer chump change - stuff like dat doesn't have to be mentioned.... does it?

bently.jpg

7) Ahem... currently I am free of pending litigation. I remain SCOTT FREE and INNOCENT! Well... at least free of pending litigation which I'd be contesting that is. I just got a ticket for running a red lite which I'll not be contesting.

strad100.jpg

OK... enuf with trying to catch up a bit here. I gotta go now.... cheers til later this evening! ... maybe I'll be back to lurk while I continue to read backwards... :surfweb:

Good answers, so your not going to declare nicking Minnie Mouse off the ship!

Me too! We were also chosen for one of the DCL House Parties! Can't wait to share our photos & DVDs (and to make some BBCs, Konk Koolers & Palo's chocolate souffle') August is soooo far away!

Tracy...those are great! That gives me some encouragement....my new one is the D40X also. :yay:
I just wish they'd turn off the street lamps when they're doing the fireworks. :headache:

CONGRATS!!! :thumbsup2

I found out this morning that someone that lives less then 10 minutes from us was selected to host a DCL House Party. I signed up on the site and put a blog message asking if she was going to be inviting outsiders to her party. We pass her housing development everytime we go to the mall, which is very often these days!!!

Good Morning Everyone!

As my butter melts just wanted to say hi to all.

Making gingerbread this morning for houses and gingerbread men (and women). I bake all the pieces to the houses and our girls put them together with royal icing then decorate them.

TTFN

Can You Adopt me?????:confused3 You sew costumes, and make gingerbread houses.:cloud9:

Thanks so much! You certainly are a welcoming bunch! I've taken 6 cruises but never really participated in the group stuff as I always felt like I was breaking into an established group. It is so much different here! Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm looking forward to meeting each of you!

Michele

We are glad you feel comfortable here!!!:flower3: :yay: :yay:

This is the camera that I recently got. I love it!! It's taking a little time for me to figure out all the settings when I try to be a bit more manual, but I got some pretty good pictures on our recent trip to WDW.

Wow Tracy!!!! You could be my photographer for the EBPC.:woohoo: Just post all the pictures under my photobucket account.:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Well...

.... may I offer to roll out the RED CARPET in welcoming you to our pleasant little madness here! < wink > actually we're not all engaged in maddening diversions... well... at least Andy is a straight shooter but I don't know about Cheryl and I. And Tom, Andrew and JR... they're all certifiable. assuming we can get Lil'G to sign the committment docs! ;)

So...

Thanks for not including me in the certifiable!!!! How ever you did knock me down with your light saber.:thumbsup2 See below!!!:lmao:

Tracy, your pics are beautiful, thanks for sharing!!! :thumbsup2

I know, funny isn't it???

I think I can put up with seeing snakes if it means I don't have to shovel or deal with the sn*w and ice anymore!!!!!!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

I hate snakes as well. The only time we had one in the house was in NY. A small snake got in the kitchen and I quickly swept it outside but DH and neighbor decided to really get rid of this 12" or so harmless snake. I won't go into details but the excuse was so it wouldn't get into DDs sandbox.
Here in Fl I have had one living out by the A/C unit as we occasionally see it's shedded skin. The Gardner upon describing it told us it was harmless. Here is one for you Andy. The harmless snake was coiled up next to my front door with the end of a frog sticking out. :scared1: I was bringing the dog in from her walk at the time and that was the only way in. I figured since it was busy with the frog we could make a mad dash in the house. By the way that was the last time we saw it.

Happy Be-lated Birthday Rich

You guys are so lucky. Is anyone having one in the Orlando area?

Wow Tracy!!!! You could be my photographer for the EBPC.:woohoo: Just post all the pictures under my photobucket account.:rotfl2: :rotfl2: [/IMG]

I was our group's official photographer for the Med cruise. Our friends' camera stopped working in Rome so everyone was saying "Tracy, get a picture of this!" "Tracy, get a picture of that!". You wouldn't believe how many pictures I have of the train in Villefranche :lmao: :lmao:

Actually, the thing I really like about the Nikon is the speed that it takes pictures at. Once I get it all figured out, it'll be great but some of the pictures I have of the fireworks were in such rapid succession that it makes you feel like you are there watching the fireworks all over again! Now if they were just a little clearer :rotfl: I'll figure it out soon. I took about 200 pictures at Illuminations (which if 10% are good, I'll be surprised) and about the same at MVMCP where many more are good. I'm learning :goodvibes

OK so 'Who' is the Doctors new assistant? She will help him step back in time on Christmas day, and her latest single is about 'two hearts'.

DOCTORKYLIE.jpg

He had a follow up with the surgeon yesterday and he's doing really well. They are still swollen from the trauma, and that will take a while to go down. He was told to start soaking them in warm soapy water, to get the stitches to start melting. The doc says the incisions are closed nicely and he'd like to see the stitches melt, rather than have to remove them. There are at least 15 teeny, tiny stitches on the ends of each finger.
He was told to start to "exercise" them....wiggling, making a fist, etc....what little there is to do with them.

I am glad to hear Jay is doing much better!!

How Neat!!! I was tempted to sign up but never did!!!:headache: Tell Samantha, John and I would love to visit but we might be stuck at your house for days.:woohoo: :woohoo: We might not want to come back to the land of ice and snow.:lmao: :lmao:

Your pictures are wonderful!! Yal might just have talked me into it.
Of course it might be a replay of Pirates Night. I managed to change my camera to video to see Pirate Mickey coming across and then they turned off the lights for the fireworks and I could never find the setting I needed for fireworks. :sad2:
Does the D40X have the video option too? I have used mine in a pinch and am very surprised how well it worked.
