Just put our turkey in the oven about 15 minutes ago, we like to eat early because we have a family tradition of going to see a movie later in the afternoon, this year we are going to see "Enchanted."

We're the opposite this year. Linda's working 7AM to 7PM at the hospital. I'm going to take the kids in to my work to finish some things up, since Saturday is my last day at that job!!!!

We'll have a small Thanksgiving dinner at 8:30 tonight. Tomorrow will be our family day, since we're all off from work and school. We're going to decorate for Christmas. b:santa:

Let me know what you think of Enchanted. We want to take the kids to see it.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving Gang!!

So ... yeah ... I assumed it wuz in good fun poking That is what this thread is for isn't it?at me about being "disturbed". Like tonite - I paused to show my BIL the posting I made with Alicia holding up the ultrasound of his son - and the first thing he quipped was "that I must have a lot of spare time". I was not really expecting that - especially since I had not mentioned that I had posted 3,000+ entries with images like that here - so I just replied that it didn't take very long to make it ... then I silently thought - well, gee... it must be tough for him to have no free time to engage in whimsical diversions.

I know a lot of folks get pretty busy with thier weekly schedules... as I used to be... and even so, I get pretty busy too sometimes. But, I had to wonder ... am I so different from the average surfer here? I dunn-o. Than after a moment of further reflection - I decided it really doesn't matter. Sometimes - like now when most of the family is asleep or going to sleep ... I take a little time to wander here - as well as with several other sites of interest. And I figure I'm OK doing what I'm doing. It's generally good clean fun. I'm usually not hurting or taking advantage of anyone - except maybe Cheryl when we taunt her about her old dial up line. < wink > I'll just continue doing what I feel like doing - regardless. What I post makes ME smile and chuckle... and if it brings a spat of soft giggling to YOU sometimes ... and especially IF sometimes your spouse or kids end up asking "what are YOU laughing at Mom or Dad?"... then it's worth doing.

Oh well... no offense taken. No worries. And - I hope everyones' holiday is ready for creating a memorable experience in the next few days. And, if nothing else - I ope everyone has a safe and relaxing break over the next few holiday days.

On a final note - as I am thinking I might just drop off to sleep very soon... I'd like to share that today we had a wonderful dinner at a place called Barducchis' (misspelled perhaps)... and an otherwise low intensity day. I head the new baby cry and complain for the first time. Otherwise he's been such a relaxed and quiet critter! He was shapingup to me as one of the most agreeable tikes I had come across in some time! But now that I've heard him cry in complaint - I know he is in fact quite normal.

Adios!

Tom, when my schedule gets so hectic that I really don't have time to play here ---I really miss it. I am so glad that I found you fine folks and I look forward to August when I get to sail on the Magic again, but this time with a bunch of pirates and wenches that are my friends.

Are we disturbed? I am sure there are some outside this thread that think so, but who cares. I do feel for the people that are intimidated by the sheer size this thread has grown to and I hope they continue to take the plunge and join in the fun (I feel that way on the 5 nighter thread--I just pop in and say hello sometimes) I hope this winter I am able to spend more time over there and get to know some of them better.

That's definitely the one AndyR used. Thanks for the heads up...I just ordered one. I'll have to take it on vacation in January to try out some underwater pics!

If my other digital wasn't able to go underwater I definetly would have ordered that!:)

And on another note before I turn in for the nite... if anyone sees any really hot BLACK FRIDAY ad items - please post them here so more of us will have a chance of getting them. I've gone to the black friday web sites with Alicia and we just did not see much of interest. Maybe I'm missing it all ... I dunn-o? We're looking for a nice middle of the road slim pocetable digicam for middle of the road cost. We've sort of decided that the old Canon pocket digicam we had appears to be LOST. that was Alicias' camera - so it's the biggest thing on our active list of interest. Believe it or not - I am mildly amazed at how much of a camera yu can get for between $75 and $150.

OK, TTFN!

I haven't seen anything to make me head out either. Meijers does have a digital photo frame for less than $30 bucks, that I may try to get I do have to stop there for bananas before I head to work. I've done quite a bit of on-line shopping for gifts--much easier and I don't have to find a place to park.:)

I have another funny one to share. Hazel and I had only been married about two months. We had all our Christmas shopping done early and the gifts were wrapped about two weeks before Christmas. Yep, you guessed it.........we opened our gifts two weeks before Christmas, oh the fun carefree years!!! :rotfl:

And wasn't it fun:rotfl: :rotfl:

Happy Thanksgiving
Everyone
I am thankful to have you all as friends.

Same here fo me Paula, Hazel can go to the stores, I use my laptop as much as possible. In fact, I just purchased our movie tickets for the 2:45pm showing of Enchanted for this afternoon. I get to the theatre, pop in my credit card at the kiosk machine, and out comes our tickets.

We will be eating between noon and 1pm today. All I have left to do is put the dinner rolls in the oven. Oh yea, I need to get Angelina out of bed too.........

I have a quick question.

Who came with the silly rule/idea of eating dessert AFTER your meal.:confused3

I'm dying to start working on the Junior's strawberry cheesecake I picked up yesterday. :cheer2: :dance3:

One of my favorite sayings is: "Life is short. Eat dessert first." Words to live by I say.

I just got the turkey in the oven, now back to the rest of the fixins. Family will be here in about an hour. My mom is sick so I am not sure if she will be joining us. We started out with 10 people and looks like we are now down to 5! Lots of leftovers. And more pie for me.:yay:

I looked through the Black Friday ads and didn't see much I couldn't do without. May go to Kohl's, but not at 4 AM. There early bird sale is good until 1 PM so 9-10 AM sounds good to me. Maybe I will sleep in.

Just popping in to wish everyone a happy and blessed Thanksgiving!!

Happy Thanksgiving DIS Neighbors!

Cheers to pleasant company, cheerful conversation, chuckles and smiles all around!

That is - fun for all except for the "Big Bird"

I haven't seen anything to make me head out either. Meijers does have a digital photo frame for less than $30 bucks, that I may try to get I do have to stop there for bananas before I head to work. Yeah Paula,

I've been scanning the various ads online - and Alicia is beginning to look over the ads... and unfortunately there does not seem to be many fun things to torture ourselves over. It seems the only thing of interest she's found is at Walgrens'... a pocket sized 1.5" photo viewer for $10. Muted Woo- Hoos! So, having seen the in store ads - I began purchasing goodies online this morning. Just a few - one for the PC Secret Mickey (hope it gets here in time to wrap and reship) and now I've got my eye on a couple of other minor things. Not that there's much I've coveting - except maybe that Bentley Azure... or maybe that Pastrami Sandwich from Johnnys' Pastrami in Santa Monica. Not that I'll get the convertible or sandwhich anytime soon. Both of which Alicia told me flatly "no".

Oh - and Paula... that Digital Photo frame - does it accept memory cards? I saw one digital frame somewhere in the Friday ads which was limited to internal memory only. I'm not sure that would satisfy me - depending on the memory capacity. AND - I got a nice sized digital frame last year from Alicia - but it is painfully slow to render large file sizes - forcing me to resize everything I load in. It's been a bit of an inconvenience to set up - but when it's running I get all the fun of viewing the images without the hassels of viewing images otherwise.

So - our turkey is planned for supper tonite. Leaving us to relax a bit for now. We plan on going to the Zoo tomorrow as it's free - and today someone mentioned an arboreum to run through the leaves and such. For now though.... the kids are running around the house raising a ruckus.

edited in... it seems Alicia is drawing up a hand written shopping list of some sort. I love this girl! She's gotme driving her in the wee morning hours as my BIL is gonna watch the kids for a couple of hours in the early morning. I get to deal with the Boston drivers and Alicia is spared the burdon of parking - as I'll drop her off and drive off to a place to stop and wait for her to finish. I'll have my MP3 player and take in a book on CD (Stephen Hawken or Edgar Rice Burroughs) or ??? So - we should be done quick - and then we all head on over to the hospital to escort the new baby with Mom home! And - as previously mentioned - the zoo might get mixed into the schedule somewhere. But it's sooooo cold for us whimpy Californians!

TTFN!

I say someone who has their priorities messed up. Start with the good stuff then if you have room for other things, maybe have them. Or better yet, have more dessert.

That's not really a rule...it's more of a guideline!

And now for something disturbing.....I just couldn't help myself....I'm in that kind of mood

That's hysterical!!!!!!!!:lmao: :lmao:

I've been scouring the Black Friday ads online for a few weeks and have only found 1 item that I want to go get. A small wine refridgerator and there are 3 stores that have them on sale. The cheapest actually requires you to purchase a case of wine. It's not worth it to me, especially since it's not a wine I'm familiar with. This is not a must have gift, its just something I've been wanting, so I'll venture out about 8am or so. If there's one left I'll get it, otherwise I won't be too heartbroken.

Today, I'm about to head out to Kmart. They've got Pepsi on sale and I've run out. And I'll browse the buy 1 get 1 free board games. We won't be eating until 3 and I'm not cooking so I've got time to shop!

While Hazel was meeting her siblings at their mother's grave this morning, I was helping myself to a slice on the Pumpkin Cheescake, once again........

We just finished eating dinner, so for all intense purposes, I ate my dessert first today..............:woohoo:

We'll be heading to the movies in about an hour. Here it is Thanksgiving Day, and we have our windows open, it's going up to around 70* today, but it isn't lasting long, tomorrow's high will be in the 40's........:cold:
