Did everyone see this?

New signature guidelines and they are going to be automatically enforced. The board is going to cut your sig down to the right size. It will just cut off anything you have that is extra and doesn't fit.

Guess I better work on my because I know it's too tall when you consider the text and the pics. On the tech board I saw an example of the maximum space your sig could take and it was just enought for the TOAL banner.

Good job Todd.....keep it up

I noticed that the website links to a discount coupon for HOJO's - it is good for 15% off the Best Available Rate. The coupon says "Offer Valid for Reservations Made before Dec 31, 2007". You present the coupon when you check-in. I sent an email to get a confirmation that this means that it is good even if the reservation is made for 2008 and they replied "yes" (I am a little anal because I like to get email confirmations for everything).
We have never been to Disneyland and I am trying to decide between HOJO's and the Tropicana. We want to be within walking distance of the parks, but I do not want to pay to stay at one of the Disneyland resorts because we are there for such a short time and we will not have time to spend using the resort facilities. If anyone has an opinion between these two resorts I would love to hear it.

I've stayed at both. HoJo's has a loyal following, but honestly, between the two, I'd choose to stay at Tropicana. For me, all I need at DL is a decent room to sleep in. I'm never there any other time.

HoJo's rooms are bigger and their pool is nicer. But that's all they've got going for them in my opinion. Oh yeah, and the manager Willie is great and will go out of his way to find you a discount. If I can't find a room and one of my preferred choices, I'll email Willie and see what he can do for me. No more discounts available for this time frame though, it's packed with cruisers.

The Tropicana is a closer walk to the parks. Only by about 5 minutes (maybe less) but it sure makes a difference at the end of the night. Also, Tropicana has a continental breakfast. It's not much, muffins, coffee and juice. But its enough to get us started and hold us over for an early lunch. Every room has a microwave and fridge. (At HoJo's not every room has both).

I think you'll be happy with either hotel. For me it would probably come down to price. But HoJo would have to be significantly cheaper for me to choose it over Tropicana (or Carousel, Camelot, BW Park Place, Dessert or Fairfield Inn).

:welcome: aboard to all the newbies.

Have a great Tuesday

 Cheryl--I've been switching between Thera-Gesic and Castiva, they both seem to help to some degree, but I get the best relief with my infrared heating pad which I am using right now, it's a shame I can't have that strapped to my leg all day........what a sight that would be :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Top o'the mornin' to you all, especially Andy!

Howdy! How's life in DC? :goodvibes

grumble grumble grumble

You guys are soooo demanding. It WAS a clean image... and yer all grillin' me on account of it's nefarious source (which I failed to notice).
It's all circumstantial I tell ya!!!
I maintain my staunch INNOCENCE.

The photo source was just too good to pass up pointing out to my fellow pirates. Who can blame me?

Indians 4
Sox 2

It's Tribe Time Now!

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I gotta say though, the Indians are looking really good. They deserve to win tonight. I don't know what the heck is wrong with the Sox! It's hard to believe they lead the division all year. :sad2:

Sox are gonna need to come up with a pitcher or two at some point.
Ortiz making an out by getting hit with Manny's batted ball might just be "The Curse of the Bambino" moment of this post-season if the Tribe pulls this out. How bizarre was that??

Of course we have our own more powerful, but lesser know situation to deal with: "The Curse of Rocky Colavito"

Well....According to thecourtstreetshuffle.com, there are still 21 establishments qualified for a shuffle stop. However, a large contingent of those seem to be more food and drink/sports bar/pizza establishments. I was one year behind the grandfathering of the drinking age, so during my tenure, the OU drinking population went from about 75% of drinking age down to about 25%, so that did impact the bar scene.

The long-gone Greenery is now the "Blue Gator" offering "premier Cajun dining, martini and wine bar where you can relax with your friends and have an upscale drink." Can you imagine eating dinner at the Greenery? ...."Um... yes...can I get a pitcher of Brainstompers with my catfish?":rotfl2:

...and a side of Kamakaze...

Do you have to sit upstairs if you are under 21??

I would so, NOT eat anything in that building!

I can't remember the name of the bar that was in the basement next to the Greenery, but I think it's a tattoo parlor now.

The Dugout. Nothing quite like a bar with 6.5 foot ceilings. I spent most Thursday evenings there for Rugby Beers.

The Nickolodean is gone, but there's a BW3 across the street.

BW3 would have been nice. Do you remember the Beach Club that was down that way - with sand on the floor?

Some of the traditional favorite's are still around...like the C.I., Cat's Eye, Junction, Pub, Tony's and the Union.
Those were my hang outs!

Ok...how about the drink specials though? Like:

$1 buys a plastic cup that can be refilled with draft beer for 50 cents all night (Pawpurr's)

$1 shots for the Ladies on Wednesday nights (Courtside).

$1 Martini's on Friday Nights (BW3)

When I was there Pawpurrs was Greek - we avoided it like the plague.
I don't think I even want to know what a $1 martini tastes like.

Not sure you can beat nickel beer night at the Nick.
Does the Junction still have Quad Night? That was always fun...well except for one night...moving along....

Ahhh, The Junction. I'd know that awning anywhere.

Wow.... I'm getting wiggly agitated at NOT posting an image with this. Now I know what CRACK addicts go through when they are in rehab. <chuckles>

It will be OK Crash, I hear there is crack available in chat.

:thumbsup2 Captain Mickey salutes you Todd on being smoke-free for 5 weeks!!! :thumbsup2

Just for all of you that have been keeping track , I am at the 5 week point of no smoking   , Ive started cutting down on the meds to only once a day and now sometimes I even forget to take that ...I think I am pretty much free from the bad habit , there are times though just for a few short seconds I wish , but then the urge is gone and I am soooooo over it now ...

pirate:

Great news Todd. Sometimes I can't believe how long it is that I stopped. But you are on the right track.:thumbsup2

I wish I had only 4 more.......................I have 5:sad1:

Wednesday is my Friday so I only have 2 more days this week:banana:

Vacation bids roll out on the 22nd. It is for the first week but my manager and I are trying to get my 9 days in one swoop. Won't know til 11/8.

We are also at the Hojo and will be arriving mid afternoon on the 15th.Still going over options for getting to the hotel from LAX.

Another beautiful morning here. Open windows at night and my electric bill is going down:cheer2:

Julie, I read your advice about transfers from SNA to DL. Thanks!! :thumbsup2 I'll probably be hitting you up to repeat your ideas when we get closer to the TOAL.

Yes, this thread will head seriously into trip planning mode closer to time . . . we will almost certainly be flying into Long Beach (LGB), since that's where JetBlue goes and we use them whenever possible. We are also going to DL after Christmas and I can report on the taxi cost from LGB then . . . SNA is even closer so everyone could count on a lower taxi cost from there. We can also look into the costs of car/minivan service closer to time and post that for everyone.

Ahem. Yes. Well. My source seems to be offline.

Ok, so here's (a bad) one:

Q: What is a Pirate's favorite toothpaste?
A: Dead Man's Crest

Q: Why?
A: Taaaaartaaaar Control

I start therapy tomorrow, and then have another appointment later in the day....so I don't know if I'll be able to pop in or not. Will ketchup eventually, I suppose.

BRACK....I was just thinking of you the other day also. Great to see you!

Paula......LAX to DL.....SuperShuttle is probably the roomiest, and least expensive. And if you want a private one...won't make any stops other than your own, and no one else to have to share it with, it's only a few extra dollars. I always do that, and also pre-reserve online. :thumbsup2

Good luck today Stace!

Speaking of SuperShuttle, does anyone know if they will take you from your hotel to the port?

Our cruise is only 7 weeks away :woohoo: and it looks like our granddaughter (and her parents) will join us at WDW after the cruise. :cloud9:

Brack did you see the discount fares avail through DU for $599 each for cat 12.

My DS will turn 14 in December and he wants to take his friends to The Melting Pot and then back to the house for video games and a sleepover (minus the sleep of course;) )

I love Melting Pot... A little pricey but very good.... Don't forget to register on their website for a free dessert w/ purchase of dinners.

I have to say though it could get pricey to take a bunch of friends.
Ours doesn't let you even share a meal amongst 3 people (even though it would feed 3) without extra fees.

Stace, thanks for the info about SuperShuttle. I'll check into that.:goodvibes

Hope your pt goes well today:hug:
