We are planning on doing laundry as well...I am worried about luggage space because I am a shopper! And between DL (may mail stuff home b4 cruise) and a cruise..I need all the space I can get!
I think our room is next to the laundry...so I think it would be simple to do laundry at random times!

Chrissie

Ditto here with the laundry. No way would I have enough suitcase allowance with a 21 and 18 year old girl to bring enough for almost 3 weeks....just think of the shoes alone, we will need a bag just for those....one good thing though, at least we are all the same size. Plus my husband's scuba equipment is a suitcase alone.

Finally caught up.

So now its off to get some stuff done, since I am taking the day off, I can't sit here all day on the computer, unfortunately.

Have a good day all! :cool1:

Make sure you keep an eye on the weather over the next week or two if you are heading to WDW, Tropical Storm Dean is headed towards Cuba or Puerto Rico and there is another system in Gulf that will likely form in next 48 hours (although likely headed for Texas)

You know, we have been at WDW in a couple different tropical storms over the years and we kind of like it! Not of course, if you have to fly in/out during it - but for visiting the parks. It always cuts way down on the crowds in the park - we just pull on the ponchos and have fun :thumbsup2

Okay, we will not be in full out pirate costumes - I do know how to sew but no one in my house would even wear them I am sure. The kids will have their Captain Jack hats they got at the World in Jan. We will all be wearing jeans and our pirate shirts we got from St. Maarten in 2006. That will make for a nice photo and sort of match the one we got taken in Jan. 2007

I plan on shipping costumes and formal clothes ahead to port.

I couldn't resist buying the ring for DW (her b-day is in 3 weeks) and they also had some POTC silver earrings :cool1:

Andy

Okay thanks!
No WAY can I pack enough clothes, undergarments, night clothing, etc. for all of us for 15 nights. That's crazy! We are staying a few nights at DL first- so I'll probably pack for 9-10 days and then do laundry about 10 days into our entire "vacation" including DL days. Maybe I can miss the rush for the laundry room by doing it that way. No one steal my idea. LOL

Yes, you can. And you'll have room in the bags for the booty at the end of the trip. How?

Disposable underwear and socks!

Shhhhhhh! Its secret. If he tells you he might have to kill you! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

He's the atypical government employee, knowledgeable and helpful! (I can say that as a gov't employee....) :lmao: :lmao:

Tom's in the same boat. Actually, there are lots of knowledgeable and helpful government employees but they either smarten up and bail to the private sector or someone realizes they are too smart. In that case they are promoted to GS-14 or 15 and then send them out for the mandatory Senior Manager lobotomy. The ones who make it through the lobotomy and can still function without drooling on themselves are named as agency heads and make the rounds on the Sunday morning talk shows. :rotfl: :lmao:

Me? I'm private sector but am surrounded by gov't folks. As one guy put it, Democrats or Republicans? Doesn't matter who is in the White House--the size of the government stays the same: Democrats have lots of gov't employees but Replicans like to cut the number of gov't employees--but increase the number of contractors. And where do these contractors come from? The former gov't employees of course! I know one guy who retired from DOD to collect his pension but came back into the office after a weeklong vacation wearing a Raytheon badge...doing the exact same job for more money and better benefits!

Just a quick hello to everyone. Hope things settle down a little after DD starts school next week.:surfweb: Have a very overdue Doctor's appt. today. I don't like the fact of having to see somebody new but oh well.:rolleyes1

Hope all is well with everyone and..............I just want to add that I will be bringing glow in the dark bracelets. I will hand out on first dis-meet, thought we could wear for pirate night. Any idea on how many???? Kids first then adults. It's on me, so far I have 75.:goodvibes

Oh and yes I have been busy working on puzzle, I am ahead of DD.:rotfl2: We are still working on fish mail, since there will be alot of it.:)

I've already picked up a shirt pattern for Kevin; Simplicity #3758 and Dress pattern for me Butterick #3906. Close to being done with the chemise of my outfit. Waiting to tackle the vest. I don't sew on a machine, so have to do it all by hand.

Wuf... I sewed one dress by hand - once! Never again. I'm actually kind of dithering about taking costumes for Pirate Night - We've got stuff (clearly), but it all takes a lot of space (especially DH's Boots). Oh well, I've got a year or so decide. :laundy:

Now that's government efficiency for you. <sigh> Our tax dollars at work.

We fly to WDW on Monday and we are nearly packed - well Helen has nearly packed. We leave home on Saturday and spend two days near Gatwick airport relaxing before the 9:00 hour ordeal across the Atlantic. I haven't told Helen I need to go into work on Saturday morning yet :scared1:

This will be the first time we have gone to America withouth Helen taking full advatage of our luggage allowance - we are actually down to three cases; Virgin Atlantic will want to know if she is feeling well :rotfl2:

Yeah, good luck with telling her about work...

Nine hours? I like to fly but man! I can't even imagine trying to corral DS2 on a plane for 9 hours without some ketamine non hand!

Hello quick post,

I have replied to the questions about Scuba diving on the thread on excursions for 2008 in the main forum.

On QVC right now...Disney Jewelry!!!!

:lmao:

uhhhh you know you can watch QVC live via your web browser?
http://www.qvc.com/videostream/vid_..._-WATCHQVC&cm_sp=TOOLBOX-_-TOOLBOX-_-WATCHQVC
Not only do you see what's being broadcast on TV, but the web page displays the information page about the item on-air and continuously updtates the page as new items are shown.

Plus, you can go back and see any item during the "show" (like Disney Jewelry, Wed 8/15/2007, 10 AM - 12 PM MT) by clicking on it's link.

Oh I want that! (is it bad that I'm serious??)

Okay raise your hand if you're NOT going to be in pirate costumes? If we're the only ones not dressing in pirate costumes we may have to hide out from dinner that night- or something. *pout*

I seriously wanted that ring too....and the matching pendant. Then I remembered that my DH would kill me if I bought more jewelry. :sad1:

The Moms and I will NOT be wearing pirate costumes. We have matching hats that we wear, and maybe we'll have pirate t-shirts....

But since we're only allowed 2 bags on the plane, we have enough stuff to pack w/o adding costumes. I can only get away with the extra costumes and shoes and such if the whole family goes. Jay and the kids never have as many clothes as I do, so I can always use some of their baggage allowance for myself. No can do when it's just me!

Don't remind me - and all the Premium Economy have gone already, on the day we want to fly :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

David

There not out until mid September. Eeven if booking by Virgin holidays they cannot confrim until then. They only have a pre allocation of Economy.

If booking on line check again 335 days out.

The good news it the steerage section on Virgin Atlantic's new A380 will be pretty nice...of course then you'll have to partake in the stampede as the other 554 fellow passengers all try to be first in the immigration line! :faint:

I've never done an East coast to West coast flight.

Do most flights have a stop over? Anyone know what a reasonable price one way ought to be?
