Well, now...if we're going to throw practicality out the window...and money is no object whatsoever...then I wouldn't even NEED a car...because I'd be living in the ResidenSeas!!

A girl can dream, can't she????

You know I have seriously considered selling everything and just renting a storage for clothes. Then just spend the rest of my life and money cruising.

Now this would be my dream come true Laura. You know I've always been very practical when it comes to cars. Really I just look for a good value and a safe mode of transportation. Nothing flashy here I'm afraid. I guess I've just never felt the need to be defined by my vehicle.

But, if I could have any car I wanted and throw practical, frugal and family friendly considerations out the window, that would be the car I would choose!!!

Mary, if we win the 300 million lottery.......I'll drive your new ZO6 to you !!!

Mark

I really could use a break today. I had several huge time out incidents with the kids running amok or tormenting one another. It's been a 6 ring circus here at times. Even the dog has been looking at me with those sad eyes.

Hang in there, Tom... There *are* days when duct tape starts looking like a good idea. On the bright side, the kids should be both distracted & tuckered out by the AYSO gig, so maybe the evening will be better. Good Luck pixiedust:

Those are really cute, but really tiny:)

Hence the need to wait for the sprout to leave. Who knows, by then maybe something better will have come along.

You & me both! I remember reading an article somewhere that some seniors in the UK were retiring to cruise ships, because they cost almost the same as a good retirement home, but kept them out & about. Something to think about when I get that far along...

Well I just had an annoying experience! On Fridays in the summer, a little local grocery store down the street from my office (about 4 short blocks) sets up a grill and serves lunch. I usually walk down there to pick up my lunch and it takes about 15 minutes - 5 minutes to get there, 5 minutes to get my lunch, 5 minutes to walk back. Since there isn't anyone else in the office today, I had to close down for the 15 minutes - but Friday's tend to be quiet to it isn't too big a deal.

Today I walked down as usual and could see as I crossed the river that it was running very high and fast. There was a fire department official that had just pulled up and was looking at the bridge and the water. Since he was holding a roll of yellow tape, I stopped and asked if they were going to close the bridge and explained that I needed to walk back over it in about 5 minutes. He told me they were closing it to cars, but foot traffic wouldn't be a problem. I went and picked up my lunch and when I got back to the bridge it was totally closed off and being watched by a police officer (not the fire guy I talked to) - this was only about 5 minutes later! The police officer insisted the bridge was completely closed to all forms of traffic.

I did manage to get back to the office by walking upsteam to the next bridge and then back down. It probably isn't the end of the world that the office was closed 30 minutes instead of 15 - it just REALLY annoys me that a public official lied to me!

PS - still no luck finding a copy of HSM2. None of our friends seems to have taped it or TIVO'd it or anything.

Disney has been repeating the movie.

My father in law was in a private assisted living facility. It was more of a house than a "facility"....just beautiful and I think he was soooo lucky. But he was also lucky that he'd made some really wise investments when he was younger. It did cost a pretty penny!

Unfotunately, when I looked at the schedule - last night was the last one until September 8th. Since our cable has been out since yesterday afternoons storms (still is) - taping it last night wasn't an option.

However - DIS people are wonderful and it looks like we are going to get a copy to watch! It will have to travel half way across the country - but I can at least tell DS that it is coming.

Isn't it time for chat? Or has it been so long since I've been there that I've got the time wrong?

Stace that is so true! There are some wonderful assisted living complexs here. I think it is great that you can bring your own furniture and mementos from your home. We have been trying to talk my grandma into moving to one, but she isn't budging (stubborn!) But they do cost ya.--but the ResidenSeas sounds like a great option too.:)

Jay says he wants us (who's US...it'll be MINE) to have one before we're so old that we look like all the other old people around here in their hot cars. LOL

I'll take one in RED!
