Some Lighthouse Point Port Adventures No Longer Being Offered?

We're excited to be booked on our first cruise visiting Lighthouse Point later this year. Since it was nearing our date to book port adventures, I perused the list of offerings ahead of time. I was surprised not all port adventures that are on the generic DCL list online were offered for booking when the time came but I found one that looked like fun - the Historical Nature and Awesome Buggy Tour – Per 2 Person Buggy (LPT16). Disappointingly, I received an email from DCL This morning stating it will no longer be offered on our sailing. Just curious if anyone has any info on why so many of the port adventures, specifically those including an ATV or Buggy, are no longer being offered at Lighthouse Point?

If they drive on sand/earth, maybe they are causing an erosion problem?
I was thinking along the same lines -- environmental or erosion and doesn't fit within the contract with the Bahamas for that location. And to my knowledge DCL doesn't actually run the excursion, it's contracted with a third party so it could also be an issue with the third party.

Did they really fit into the whole ecologically friendly theme?

I live in a tourist town that offers these... and they are always being crashed, a drivers license does mean you have the experience to go off road with vehicles that are prone to tipping. But if a safety issue, I'd expect them to remove these types of excursions from all stops.

But yeah might not be feasible to offer for a single ship port that isn't always in use? Right now they only have stops about three days a week, that would be tough to make money on. My guess is most the equipment is a year old now, and general maintance and replace cost are showing up.

Thanks for sharing your insights! If these are the case and it's not just for our sailing that they have been removed, hopefully DCL will remove them from the general Port Adventures page so future cruisers will be aware.

Just for the information, someone from our sailing (August 13, Magic) reported that this is cancelled as well.
