Stephanie!

.... That's not polite to say things like that! <chuckles>

Thanks for coming to my defense about dial-up connection.<chuckles> I told you I was cheap!!!!:lmao: :lmao:

OK/...

I'm using a library computer and I've reported the stolen card charge officially. Now waiting for processsing and return of funds. The rep assurred me there is no liability for unauthorized charges - especially with my circumstances.

So - I gotta get home to prep the pot luck picnic dinner grub = and meet our friends who are riding in with us at 4....

Happy birthday top everyone I've missed in the past few days!

I hope to recover my notebook computer tomorrow evening!

And a wish for a pleasant day to all - coast to coast and around the world!

I am so glad all your issues are getting resolved with the card!!! I would be scared to death.:scared1:

Good luck on the notebook recovery!!!:thumbsup2

No Austyn will be starting 2nd grade as well. Her birthday is the first week of September and we started her early. She is big for her age and did well in
1st grade. She is the youngest in her class but you would not know it by looking at her.

Thanks for sharing the pictures of your family:grouphug: and the park pictures.:yay:

A few pics from the oil tank fire. The first pic is of the NBC 10 news helicpoter that was over our house. I saw a total of 4 news helicopters when I got to the interstate overpass. The last pic is the traffic backing up on I-295 near exit 23, which is two blocks to the east of our house.

Great pictures you took Andy!!!!:thumbsup2 You could retire now and be a professional photographer!!!:woohoo:

WOWEEEEEEEEE Sooz thanks ever so much for posting such a great picture of Roger!!!!!

Okay MR. Who is that hunk????:confused3 :cool1: How do I not know who he is???

:rotfl: I found out a few months ago that one of my very good friends still had dial up AND was paying for a second line for the computer! :sad2: I forced her to get DSL! LOL! She is very glad that she listened to me. :rotfl:

Cheryl knows I love her and we are allowed to tease each other. ;)

Feel free to tease me all you want!!!!! :goodvibes There is a lot to tease about!!:lmao:( I do know you love me:love:) I did try to get DSL but I would have to switch phone companies!!!! I have Comcast for phone so I have to get cable hook-up. I just hate paying $40 a month for me to play on computer. I am switching to cable hook-up next January so I can get my excursions!!!!:yay: :yay:

Cheryl, how was HP5?

And from last night you mentioned that you walked 4 miles, just out of curiosity how long does that take you?

Harry Potter 5 was my least favorite. It really dragged for a long time!!:rolleyes1 The last 45 minutes was great!!!!

Okay do not laugh:rotfl: but it does take me one hour to walk 4 miles at a 10% incline on my treadmill. I could never bike 20 miles a day like you do.:sad2: Walking is easier on my knees.:goodvibes

Isn't that a nice feeling????:cool1: :cool1:

Yes! Yes it is! :thumbsup2

I'm so happy today! I made my reservation for the beginning of Nov. at SSR & my waitlist came thru today! I'm soooo glad we don't have to worry about switching resorts or anything. :woohoo:

But I gotta say....man is it hot up here in the office! I got the AC going downstairs but only window fans up here. I told DH we are getting AC up here soon! I wonder if they're running any end of season sales yet? :confused3

Sacramento set a new weather record today. Rain fall. 0.01"!! (yeup - one one hundredth of an inch :rotfl2: ) We had a thunderstorm last night that dropped a little rain. A very little rain.

Those of you sending rain our way? Please try harder! :rotfl:

I was on the news tonight. The mandatory spay / neuter bill was pulled from the legislature today. They wanted reaction from a local breeder and somehow I got pinged. I gave them lots of great ideas on how to solve the problem, that doesn't require additional legislation. And what goes on air? Local breeder doesn't want to pay increased fees. Pthththt.

I think they just wanted to get background footage of the dogs playing in the backyard.

Good nite Arlene!
Esteri, what time is your flight.

We fly out at 14:30 (2:30 pm) on 9/1.

Should we be happy or scared that Whoppers employs a microbiologist?

Whopper are one of my favorites. Not certain how I feel about them employing a microbiologist only when there are problems... Tell me, anyone know if they've got one on staff now??

We missed Arkansas on this one. We did go through it on

The Great Two Car-22' Sailboat-7 Month Pregnant Woman Cross Country Adventure Through The Deep South in July Move

San Diego, CA - St. Pete, FL 1998

Just be happy I wasn't blogging that one...it wasn't pretty!

Oh! There's a story here! Tell us, tell us!

We loved Turtle Talk w/Crush! In Feb '06 we were there for Elvis's b-day! He was wearing his b-day pin and Crush choose him to talk to! LOL! Claire was NOT happy! LOL!

Ahhhhhh. That's the secret. DS5 loves Crush. I was going to have him get his birthday button in MK, but maybe he'll celebrate his birthday at Epcot instead.

The difference between Northern California & Southern California is the difference between Georgia & Pennsilvania (almost). East Coasters forget (or never did realize that) the state is so big.

That's great! I'll have to remember that example.

When I was an exchange student in Finland, by host family asked me how many times I'd visited New York. I grew up in Seattle. They were astonished when I said I've never been. "What? How can you live in the US and not visit NYC?" So I carefully got out a map, measured, and asked them how many times they'd been to Saudi Arabia. "Saudi Arabia? Never! It's too far!" "It's the SAME distance from Seattle to NYC." :rotfl:

I don't think they ever really understood how large the country is until then.

Yes, the wind is blowing the smoke to the east, our house is southwest of the tank farm, so far, so good.

Let's hope it stays that way. After looking at those pictures I don't think you want to be down wind!

just got back from taking DS#1 driving.. he did fine until we got to parking at Wal-Mart..started to pull into a parking spot and he pulled too far forward before starting to turn in and he was too far over and he was gonna hit the parked SUV.. For the first time I yelled big time.. but he stopped and backed up and then parked great..

I wonder many greys hairs for that episode??

He probably won't have very many. STs are pretty resiliant.

I had DSL a few years ago (when AOL provided it through SWB) but it was so unreliable and had poor customer service. I switched to cable and I am happy to pay the $40+ each month for the fast, reliable service.

Dail-up? I'd rather not even get online. I do not stay at hotels that do not provide high speed internet. :surfweb:

OK, I'll let you in on a little secret: I've never been to NYC *or* Saudi Arabia. NYC's on the list of places to go (as are New Orleans, Tokyo, Vermont, Williamsburg, and Fiji) Saudi Arabia isn't.

Hi -
I admit I procrastinate - but for anyone planning on losing weight - getting in shape - etc. for the TOAL - get started. Oh - I'm really talking to myself - I was keeping my work-out schedule sporatically - so now I'm leaving in a month & am kicking myself for saying - oh I've got plenty of time. Ha - and spandex in August won't work. Well, I'll see how well I can do in a month.

Every day I say I'm going to start tomorrow and then that ice cream monster jumps up and then I'm telling myself - you can start after this bowl of ice cream. The worst part is I lost the weight in 2006 and put it back on in 2007. So now tomorrow I'm going to start the Grandma Diet. Both daughters and the two grandchildren (2 & 4) arrive in Florida for a month. I'm hoping chasing after then will kick start this weight loss. All I have to figure out is how to resist the ice cream - for some it's cake -- for me it's ice cream.

Actually I was amazed when I was living on Long Island that even tho we were around an hours drive to NYC, there were people who had lived on the Island their whole lives and never got close to it.

I guess it's the same with alot of us living in the Orlando area that haven't been to the world either:confused3

Cool! These kids are going to have a blast with so many on board in their age groups! So, is your 6 year old starting 1st grade? Kylie will be starting 2nd grade this fall.

Is Kylie a girl? Miranda, my youngest, will be in the 2nd grade too.

There is something about the cold creaminess of good ice cream.I can pass on the cake for a nice bowl of ice cream.Luckily there isn't any in the fridge at the moment.I'm really trying to stay away for a while. It's my only vice.

We can't get DSL here for some odd reason. I love having cable, but my computer is still a bit slow. I think I really need to clean it out. It's very bogged down with a lot of useless stuff I don't need. My email acct. is the worst! I don't know how to get my emails do delete automatically after a certain time. :confused3

I'm the opposite. Not a big fan of icecream & I really don't like store bought cake, but put a pillsbury or betty crocker cake in front of me & I'm a gonner.

I'm really trying to be good too, but I keep finding excuses to be bad. :rolleyes1

Wwhen I went to Yellowstone I bought the annual park pass. Figured it might get us out to door to Yosemite, which is only 2-3 hours away. You know, you're never a tourist in your own area. :sad2:

I just bought dixie cups for the kids visit. That way I won't sneak their ice cream. I can't resist Publix's Raspberry Roadrunner Yogurt. I knnow every says at least it's yogurt. We started with the same flavor in their ice cream then switched over to the yogurt because it was better for us. But I can't have it in the house. Being a hour and a half away from WDW, at least I'm further away from Ghiradelli's than you are. I don't think I could live so close and resist the urge to visit too often.

In honor of those movie goers among us...

Why did the Pirates like Harry Potter?

Because he had a ScAAAARRRRRRRGH!

Well, my downfall isn't sweets - its a slower metabolism AND pasta & wine. As long as I exercise & avoid pasta I can do okay. Well, the wine is out now too. (for now) I left my roller-blades in So. CA - so its dog walking & staying on my work-out routine. And salads - lots of salads.
I didn't realize our metabolism slows as we get older - I sure do now!

So true, when we lived in the Philadelphia suburbs, other than one visit to the historic areas when the girls were young (Independence Hall, Betsy Ross House, etc.) we only went when we chaperoned school trips. We should have made and effort to go into the city more. We were only 2-3 hours from NYC and Washington DC and we didn't get there often enough either. Oh well, regrets don't solve anything I guess I should just learn from my past mistakes and make an effort to get to know my new home state better.

Oh! There's a story here! Tell us, tell us!

There's a lot to the story, but I'll just stick with: we had 2 cars, we had a 22' sailboat that I wasn't ready to sell, I was pregnant with oldest DS (born Aug. 30) & we had to move from San Diego to St. Pete. So we each drove a car, DH pulled the boat, the boat shifted on the trailer in Las Vegas (where they had never seen a sailboat before), and we drove through the deep south in July. We stopped off in Vegas (where DH ran something called the Mojave Death Race), Grand Canyon, Mesa Verde, made a left turn in Albuquerque, Graceland, Vicksburg & New Orleans. In about Memphis, I started swelling. By the time we hit FL my legs were the same size from the top of my thighs to my toes, and I had carpal tunnel so my fingers stopped working by New Orleans. Oh yeah, the one and only time I've ever been to both Vegas and New Orleans, I was pregnant! When I went to my 36 week appointment the doc told me to pack a bag because it could be any time, I hadn't unpacked from the trip let alone my household goods & we had nothing for the baby!

When I was an exchange student in Finland, by host family asked me how many times I'd visited New York. I grew up in Seattle. They were astonished when I said I've never been. "What? I know I've posted it before, but I love this one:

I am right there with you. I've put off getting serious about my exercise because I had so much time until the cruise. Now I leave in a little over a month and have probably gained a few pounds rather than lost any!
