This is a great picture on another thread.

This is what I call a towel animal. Our room hostess Lydia did this for our 20th anniversary.

Beautiful day here, sunny, cool and a bit of a breeze. Going out back to plant a Blue Spruce that Hazel received as a gift a few days ago.......:goodvibes

Edited to add, looks like the DIS clock was reset, my post time actually matches up with my laptop time, what do you know about that..............:lmao:

Ok, I need to post just to check that out. :rotfl:

Andrew--thanks for sharing the video clip. I bet those onboard were happy to see dry land again...........;)

I hear you. Reading some of the live threads made it sound like it was pretty rough sailing in parts. I guess that will make it all the more memorable, though.

In today's New York Times magazine supplement, "Summer Travel," there is a terrific article on Cartegena. Called "Colombian Gold," it starts out "In a country scarred by decades of conflict, the city of Cartegena was spared the worst. Now its long-overlooked mix of Caribbean beaches, colonial architecture, beautiful people, and a nightlife that never stops is makng it South America's next big thing." One visitor described the city as "like Istanbul but in the Caribbean . . . all those massive walls, but instead of calls to prayer it's salsa music everywhere and at all hours of the day."

I'll see if I can get a link to the article, but if you have a chance to pick up the Times today, this article is a keeper.

If they are flying home they can also look forward to some trans-Atlantic turbulence as well !! :rotfl:

I wouldnt do it, the Atlantic is one big place and I wouldnt want 6 sea days in a row, Its the Magics second time of course she was made in Europe.
Try this link:

Click on the slide show, enjoy the pictures, and then you can click to read the article. There are also some older articles about Cartegena on that same travel guide.

Thank you, How are you? are you going on your cruise?

So far, it looks almost 100% sure that I will be heading out (with my youngest daughter) June 8th on Explorer of the Seas . . . fingers crossed! Good luck surviving your last week before a fabulous vacation on Majorca!

Thank you for that. I know a gal who grew up in Colombia and Cartegena was their annual vacation spot. She says we'll really enjoy it!

Thanks for that confirmation -- the beautiful pictures in the NY Times magazine really made me think it will be a wonderful stop, and one I might not have made it to if DCL hadn't picked it as a stop on the repo . . .

I have been there on a Princess cruise and enjoyed it, its the place to get Emeralds, great views from the hills near by, old town, old colourful buses.

Beach wasnt so good!
