Ummm did I totally miss something on DWTS - when did Ian and Cheryl get kicked off? I can't believe I lost a week! I was at the airport on Thursday and saw a cover with Apolo, Joey and Laila but don't remember missing a week!!! Help!

Ian and Cheryl are still on (at least they were dancing last night and scored 58 points) unless you are giving out a spoiler we don't know about???

So DW is all  because I got a speeding ticket the other night. A real ticket this time. I was going 70 but he wrote it for 60 in a 55 zone. $60 fine, 1 point. Not that I case 'cause I don't think NM and CO trade points anyway.

I'm debating whether I should take photos of that stretch of road because there are no speed limit signs from the intersection to where the cop was sitting in the median. The road is twice as wide as the interstate and in just as desolate area. DW says to suck it up and pay the ticket. :teeth:

Lets see if this works:

Cool - thought I'd pulled a Rapunzel for a week. I know I'm  but didn't think I was that  :rotfl2:

P.S. - no one is allowed to talk with DH on the cruise! :lmao: You don't see him - he's a figment of your imagination! See the pictures above? He's there - he really is! He just prefers to be the strong but silent type. AND...he joined Enna in the  program! ;)

Lisa and I were talking about Dancing With The Stars Last Night. Apollo and his partner did the H-O-S-T-E-S-T Cha Cha I ever saw.:woohoo: On if the judges said it was too hot for that kind of dance.:scared: My DH was just intruding on my thoughts. I was better off when I kept this site a secret.:rolleyes1 :hug:

I also think Apollo was HOT last night!!!:woohoo:

Also gotta say - while I never cared for the character Steve Sanders - he has begrudgingly won over my admiration. He seems to try so hard I sometimes feel as if they're just being too tough with him. He's do good for not being a dancer. I for one - admire him.

I just happen to have the hots for Apolo more! ;) Lisa I think he's around 27 or so - single or so I've heard. As for that dance, haven't seen the show yet but caught the link on YouTube - they sure don't look like brother and sister anymore!!!!!!!!!

As Carrie Ann said- its hot in here!!!!

As for the Song - Salt-N-Pepa Push it Real Good - one of my favorites and guaranteed to start me dancing in a heartbeat!!!! You should all see me legs pedal on the stairmaster when this comes on!!! (Insert TAZ image here) :rotfl2:

I never could figure that out about NJ...the first time I visited there for an interview I stopped at a gas station with the rental car, got out, opened up the cap and MAN! You shoulda seen the attendant! I just assumed he was some kind of vagrant! But now, I noticed he had on a Mobil uniform shirt and then he started speaking, er, yelling ;) Farsi or Arabic all while pointing to the "full service" sign.

Later on I learned about the you-can't-pump-your-gas-in-Jersey business. My new firneds later told me it was because NJ residents weer too dumb to pump their own and would set the state on fire! :rotfl: :lmao: A guy at work said it was nothing more than an state jobs program.

Actually it's the NJ Gasoline Dealers Assoc that prevent NJ from going to pump your own. Powerful lobby group in Trenton.

I have been born, raised and have lived my entire life in NJ. I know how to pump gas. I pumped gas at my Dad's station while going to school. A few years ago, I was in Ohio with a co-worker. I pulled in to a gas station to fill-up and get directions to the hotel. I ask her to fill the car up while I go inside. She stands there for a second looking at the pump and the gas cap. I look at her and ask if she knew how to pump gas. Nope. Born and raised in NJ, it was not a skill acquired. Needless to say we did gas pumping 101. Got back to the office a few days later, I made up a training certificate and left in on her desk.

I better not tell you Hazel filled up our car today and the cost was $24.02 reg gas @ $2.879 a gallon for full service, we don't pump our own gas here in Jersey.

I filled up 2 wks ago and it was $3.19 - I can't remembe when it was under $3.00!!!
I do remember when the gas stations became self-serve. I went to my regular station and waited and waited - then my girlfriend noticed the sign - "self-serve only" - well, the 2 of us got out and just stared at the car & the pump - neither of us had a clue. A very nice guy took pity on us and showed us how it worked!!!!

I've just done a quick calculation and I've worked out that a gallon of petrol (gas) here will cost you roughly $8.55 - no comparison !!!

David

I can only imagine how that would cripple this area - very little rapid transit. As it is we're considering a hybrid for our next car - something Very fuel effecient.

Though I do remember full service stations as a child, the only nostalgia I really remember re: gas stations would be when Arco invented the one-stop robbery marts: Arco's AM/PM stations. First they stopped taking credit cards and went cash only (and back then you only used your ATM card to get cash from the machine). Then they beefed up the convenience store aspect. Then they went 24 hours....food, gas and cash 24/7!?! Yeah, several were robbed immediately :lmao: :sad2:

Filled up the other car Sunday for $3.09 thanks to the bonus discount. The grocery store automatically gives a 3-cent discount when you use your loyalty card (yeah yeah I know the arguments against those cards). The discounts went a way for a while due to some CO lawsuit about predatory pricing. Evidently it is illegal to sell items below cost so those gas discount programs came to a halt. But the people revolted what with the higher gas prices and the legislators--fearing for their jobs--made the practice okay insofar as gas goes. The same rule prevents WM from selling those $4 prescriptions...they are $6 instead. Well now that the program is back, for every $100 you spend in the grocery store during the month of May you'll get an extra 7-cent discount for a total of 10 cents off the price of gas. So the $3.09 price makes them cheaper than Sam's (we don't have Costco...yet).

Laura--It was just announced on ET a few minutes ago that Apolo was celebrating his 25th Birthday backstage after the show last night. Just saw this on the US Olympic website about Apolo:

Height: 5'8
Born: 5/22/1982
Hometown: Seattle, Wash.
Resides: Colorado Springs, Colo.

$8.55 a gallon for gas??? Is that why everybody drives tiny cars in Europe? (OK at least in movies they do - I've never been so I don't really know)

Our cheapest gas is $2.89 up here. And let me say again IT COMES FROM HERE!!!!!!

I love the TV news stories that ask when people will stop driving as much. I really CAN'T drive less. No public transportation to work or anywhere else I go. If I wanted to drive less, I'd have to move & that seems a lot more expensive than $3 a gallon gas.

I know - I'm moving anyway, but you get my point.

:headache: ,,,,i hate it , when they do something new to our
internet connections/phones ....as always, they broke something
where they had to come back....2 young guys, linebackers type.

....in a blink of a pirate: eye, our lil' jack russell burst~ out
the front door....i could see that look in his eyes, of wanting to
chomp....the intruders~:dog: & :scared: .forcxing me into a
dive , just one mili-sec. quicker than him. thanks godness....
this had $$$ lawsuit....the one worker asked if i used to play
football...cos he never seen someone moved so quick...truth
is, $$$ a great motivator. but not at a price, ripped right thru
my :mickeyjum jammies, & i have a whole new set of bruises...
i am way toooo old for this! :sad2: ..anyone like a free,
cute and very protective puppy~ :dog: ???

now iam "feeling it".... , sore all over.

[ her hair is growing back...& it still has reddish ~ gold type highlights...
 , just like her grandmother...& daddy (used to be). the gentleman
besides her, is the Irish dancing champion of the world...from IRELAND.
~ they wanted him to do the "lord of the dance"....but he turned it
down, to teach children...:wizard: , some are not driven by money.

{wish i could say the same, :rolleyes1} ..the program was in town,
and alot of the professional dancers~from riverdance, came over to
help the kids put on this show....:thumbsup2 , that was really neat to
watched! * what i feel really sad about....our local school refused
to let jordan leve 2 hrs early to continue her lessons...to me, its
a part of her heritage...and we felt more educational..but we ended
up in court...:sad2:. i dislike poltics. ]

I'm sorry you're sore, but you had me :rotfl2: :rotfl2: . I needed that!!:thumbsup2

I was ironing last night while watching DWTS. I could decide what was hotter, the iron or Apollo doing the cha-cha-cha. It was steamy.

No kidding! What I wouldn't give to be able to dance like that! Wow.

I've been giving serious thought to getting rid of the BIGMOBILE...the Yukon XL, and getting a small sedan. Costs me about $90 to fill it up.:sad2:

Hi Everyone!

Well I took my DS to the Dr. and missed the run for the pirate. They are much more few and far between now :lmao:

Hope everyone is having a great Tuesday ugh!

Came home with four scripts for DS...nasal spray, eyedrops, and two ointments for the contact dermatitis he has under his arms ewwww. It seems he may have developed an allergy to anti-perspirant :scared1: :scared1:
