Hi Everyone!!

Welcome Home Paula, Laura, Mark, & Tom, Peter & Johnna!! So glad you're vacations were great!!

Yikes what a busy weekend....Can you believe we finally unpacked...TODAY! Shame on me! Well I'll never win any Suzy Homemaker awards that's for sure However, we did host a small get together last night for my MIL & SIL birthdays. My darling MIL turned 89 during the week. Bless her soul! You should have seen me literally throwing the suitcases in my bedroom and closing the door! Yesterday we (as in me and the kids) applied for passports, that took nearly two hours, then we had to get a new battery and an oil change for Taryn's car, oh and of course I had to buy birthday presents for my MIL and SIL, then host the small party.....well you get the idea of why I couldn't unpack yesterday

I have to catch up here, missed a few days, then I'll be back!

Peter & Johnna thank you again so very much for your gracious and generous hospitality!!

Later Gators,
MR

Hey MR - I just took my DS down to apply for his passport on Friday. How long did they tell you it's supposed to take? They told us 4-5 month. But I think most people are getting theirs in 3 months, even with it being real busy right now. We did it at the post office and I noticed they were pushing overnight shipping there and back. I think that 4-5 month quote was padded so they could generate some extra fees for the post office.

I just read in our local newspaper this morning that the passports are taking about 10 weeks to process right now. I guess it could vary in different parts of the country.

Oh No Monica I hope what they told you is wrong. They told me 10 weeks. I have 18 weeks until my Aug cruise and although I don't need the passports for that cruise they took our Birth Certificates to process the passports. Right now I couldn't get onto any cruise ship! Well I guess order another copy of our birth certificates if it comes to that. 4-5 months seems like forever.

Listen guys, for those of you who haven't gotten there passports for the TOAL yet.....I think you'd better go soon!

Hey!
I can’t believe that my first post on this thread is going to be about a dog and not Disney but ohh well!
I’m not sure if you are looking for a puppy or not but my DH used to work with a woman who was very involved in a boxer rescue in New Mexico. Not sure where in OK you are but we made the drive from Albuquerque to OKC when our son was born and it was not THAT bad of a drive. But it might have been the excitement also!! Her group is rather nutty about placements but I know they have driven good distances to place dogs. As for the age, she has had several litters of puppies so you might be able to get one rather young! If you are interested let me know and I can give you her information, I’m sure she would be glad to talk to you and give you more into!

Gabbie...

... here's the link to Boxer Rescue of Albuquerque : http://www.albuquerqueboxerrescue.org/ and while I was at it I searched for Boxer Rescues in your area - and I came up with this referral to an organization in TULSA that fosuces on rescuing Boxers: Tulsa 918-814-3047 info@tulsaboxerrescue.net http://tulsaboxerrescue.net/

We rescued our Samoyed and he's been a wonderful mamber of our family. That is... after he dug clean through to the metal of my car door the 1st day I had him AND... he was a rascal every nite we had him for the first couple of weeks. He stole all kinds of food stuffs including one nite where he nosed into the pantry and got inot some dried scallops my spouse had picked up on a trip to Hong Kong that were about $100 a pound. My spouse started screaming and yapping when she discovered the new Samoyed chewing on them and he promptly rolled onto his back and started urinating to show respect for Mom the alpha dog! My spouse srceamed lounder prompting him to pee more vigorously! What a hoot! Then... on one morning we found he had gotten around some baby gates we had rigged around the kitchen and some time during the nite he went rolling around in the fireplace! Arrrgh!

But he's sooooo sweet! He does love stealing sweets - so I named him Sugar. That is after I changed his FIRST name which was "***" ... which my spouse choose for him on account of his taking so many chances with all the rascally things he had gotten into during those initial weeks. I renamed him on account of an employee I had who was giving me a bunch of problems as he had emotional aberrations which were not obvious in the initial screening and months with us. So I renamed our Samy from "***" to Sugar because "***" sounded too much like the bad employees' name.... which shall remain unnamed.

At any rate,,, give rescuing a Boxer some consideration. With a little luck everyone wins potentially with rescuing a canine in need! ;)

gopher.gif

OK... I gotta run now. I'm trying to get rid of some gophers who are in the process of destroying our lawn and I need to step up my efforts! The bombing evidently had NO EFFECT! Anyone with any successful experience or wild eyed advice is truly welcome to help me with ideas or suggestions. I am going for poison and potentially new ideas now (Home Depot?) as I have a relatively fresh tunnel which I've uncovered. I was reluctant to trap the critter as the custom traps looked pretty large to work with for such tiny tunnels.

Right, that's what I've heard, 10 weeks = about 3 months....not 4-5 like the P.O. was trying to say. I just hope I get it by Aug 13!

WOW!!!!!

Only 10 pages to kechup on in almost two days.:confused3 We were actually visiting aunt in nuring home. So nice out we did some yard work when we came home. It got up to 60 today. :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Since the roads were getting so bad this afternoon with all the rain that has been coming down, after ST finished work, we just stayed in the mall and ate at Ruby Tuesday. Hazel and I had the lump crab meat sandwich, that was sooooooooooooo tasty, my mouth is still watering from it, yum! yum! ;)

Just saw on the news the rain here is expected to be mixed with sn*w showers before it moves out of the area sometime tomorrow. ........

I've had it with this groundhog thingy, I'm out to hunt him down!!! Hey, my "Ha! Ha! smiley" has been moved, I'm NOT a happy camper.............

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Oh Lisa sweetie, we need the birthday list updated on page #1. :upsidedow

As you can tell from my birthday post...we will not be here all week! DH (Mike) is out of the hospital. All tests came back fine & he is only required to take a baby aspirin a day. He keeps yelling at me to stop treating him like an invalid. He wants to hit the road & try to get beyond NJ before the storms start to hit. I thank you all for your kind words & support! Have a great week everyone!!! :grouphug:

Diane, have a wonderful trip. You all enjoy yourselves.:goodvibes

Listen guys, for those of you who haven't gotten there passports for the TOAL yet.....I think you'd better go soon!

nah.... i'm waiting till after xmas.....(otherwise we might have "issues" with me not looking like my picture)

Good afternoon all! I started scrapping our holiday book yesterday and pulled out all of the extra pictures today. I am sorting them & putting the ones ready to use into the photo envies that I have collected so that I can group them for the different books. The dining room table is covered with all of this. Not sure how much longer DH wont say anything about that. :)

Thanks for really making me feel guilty.:rotfl2: I have one page done from my first crusie two years ago.:thumbsup2 I just need to make the time!!!!

:wave2: ....guys, i thought maybe doing a "refresher post" so
everyone can see "me" better?

..we have no rooms assignments. however, we are supposed to
have 2 rooms. our plans on the 31st were as followed: we already
had a request....thru our dreams girl. then on the 31st, i was
trying for cat. 9, and never made it. so it came down to our dreams'
unlimited girl...who was able to scored! :yay: . so we have placed
a request on the aft, 7deck and 2 rooms together. however, our sons
are old enough to be themselves...it is not uncommon for us to seldom
see them unless we demand it. though they will be in their early 20's
@ the time of this cruise .."stunky teens" is a very accurate description
except keeping their junkie cars clean.

We transfered our ressies to Dreams with a girl named Tracy who will also be cruising with us. I was on the phone for two hours on the 31st!!!! I did score a Cat5 near middle on starboard side. I would prefer port but at this point I am just glad to be onboard!!!

:
while iam doing all of the postings..alot of the times iam sharing with my
lil'miss cutie. nor am i, in possession of computer skills....though we have
one since early..90's, it has been our kids..."toy". we "dreamed" of dcl since
the 80's...but were weary of the big red boat thingy. however, my wife
have done all our cruises since 99. [ iam just now trying to figure what
the heck goings on]. of course, there's one more of us...our lil' princess:

Our very first cruise was in 2005, 2006 and soon to be 2008. I never thought we sould like crusing!!:woohoo: I finally got DH to start reading a little on this thread. I keep telling him about everyone on the board. Don't be surprised if I get him to post!!!:cool1:

:
"people watching"....i had discoverd these boards a couple of years......
but it was hard to "see" who was what...so i was really paying attention
to those on the cruise boards...as we have had some weirdo experiences
on our cruises. based on that, is why i thought i give it a whirl here. i
believe the best of the best...is here.

I just discovered board on my last cruise. My last cruise was more enjoyable because of all the Dis friends. In fact we will be having a mini reunion with Daipp and Steph5. Maybe a few more if rooms open. I really agree we do have one of the best group of peopleon this board.:goodvibes :cool1:

i need some of Andy's enthusiasm....

We all could!!!!!

Evening all !!

Been a lovely warm day here on the east coast of the UK went up to 23 degrees :yay:

Spent the day doing the garden, planting flowers, and mowed the lawns.

David

Hi David!!! Can we get Helen to post of this board????:goodvibes

ok, we have done both early and late...dining, based on our current needs,
we chose late. when we do a cruise, we try to get everyone input in.
our first cruise had no plans...but in alot ways , it had many special moments.
therefore, we don't planned every day on an exact schedule. last cruise,
i really enjoyed wandering & visiting others all over the ship...using my
camera as a front....some even showed us their rooms...which was fun. *i
had no idea who this capt. crash dude was...but it was very self evident, he
was very nice and helpful to others....and totally  his wife/family.
you could tell..she tolerated his antics with lots of  . this made
sense to me.

& then there are a few..like me. [ if i was to chose an animal..porcupine
would described me to a "tee"] yes! i like sneaking in references of what
others talking about...for fun. i also "see" alot of animal types here.

then there are the truly teddy bears..types, like mr.V...i wish i was more
like him, but atlas...my needles get in the way. * my saving grace,
was to have been blessed with finding  from a true  . though
she does possess a few ...pointers ...my guess, for balance? i mentioned,
this, cos i leaned toward interacting ...with anyone...but i truly enjoy
meeting those seeking, sharing and respecting "individuality".

culture, and experiences ..are facets that i like listening to. what i also
see here, are strong family bonds and support. and i really happy to see
others taking active roles in their community structure...sometimes my
strong feelings will come out in a heavy presentation..sorry. this is the
way i live life..and my work is also ...in this very area. so daily, i running
into alot of the things that are popping up here...as to not mislead, iam
no expert, just expressing the input i see working.

..but being so cemented by aging, is also limiting to those sharing
similarties...however, i like hearing everyone feelings and their
expectations for this cruise. i like hearing families backround and what
each feels are important..cos we are doing the same things. more than
anything, it is making this cruise more special ,just realizing how many
fascinating people that will be on it. all i did before was let my wife
set things up, and went with her...well, i told you i was lazy. :snooty:

* so what i 've been posting, is ::yes:: , a reflection of what you
can expect..hopefully not anything,, to shocking. :flower3:

Hi LG!! I am looking forward to meeting you next August. Adam is looking forward to meeting your boys also. :goodvibes
and you know what we don't have a cabin number either:rotfl:

Speaking of birds....I have a psycho bird that has been trying to get into my house for the past couple of days. Keeps flying into my living room windows. I have even tried drawing pictures of angry faces and taped them up to the window as a deterant, but nothing is working. I think mapquest gave the wrong directions again.....

:rotfl: :rotfl:

O...M....G...!!!!!!!!!!! 4 TO 5 MONTHS!!!!!! We got ours last year before they changed the reg's (again!) in late summer/early fall for our Dec. trip - I had mine in 5 weeks and DH & DS had theirs in 2 weeks - this was after we were told 6 to 8 weeks.

And you know what else??? It was freakin' expensive!! Exactly $300 for the three of us...that's with one person with a 5 year passport under age 15 (but includes the pics) :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

I liked it with my plain old birth certificate and D/L thank you very much!
