i did end up calling the lady yesterday...and it was the most nerve wracking call i've made! i hate confrontations...i'm not good with them at all...but i didn't want to sound foolish. i think the call went ok, and i told her my feelings.

Hey Shannon - kudos to you - you'll never regret the choice you made. Another kudos as I too know how difficult it is to speak up - the heart pounding the swhooshing noise in your ears - the heat that makes you want to :faint: but you want to know something? NEVER NEVER will you regret it -and once you realize you did it once - you can do it again. It gets easier and easier every time - so - as you said - its the 'what ifs' that will kill you - and I and any future dog bite victim will thank you! You did good girl! Applaud yourself - you deserve it - and you did it w/o getting nasty - Touche!

Hello everyone!pirate:

Just got back from WDW last night. Glad to be back home but miss Mickey already! Had to drive through some of this storm. It's very nasty here in NYC today. My tulips did well. Just about ready to Bloom.

I'd like to thank everyone who participated in our DIS mini meet down in Florida. We all had a great time. Thanks to all. We had lots of cake. I was happy to finally meet you all. So many nice people. Special thanks to all with cameras. Thanks to Andy for posting pics for all to see.

I'd like to start thinking about another meet this August. We will be there for 10 days from the 20-30 of August. Preliminary dates would be Friday Aug. 24 or Sat. Aug. 25, at the Wilderness Lodge or Beach Club near their DVC Pools.

Let me know what you think?

Good to be back home hope everyone is well!

:)

Welcome back Pete! Glad you had a great vacation. So sorry I missed the mini meet. It looked like a lot of fun.

Don't forget to post a picture of your tulips....Mine didn't fair so well. I think only half of them are going to come up.

And another bull riding shot. The bull won, by the way...

I leave early in the morning to visit my family in Nebraska for a week. I should be able to check in at least once in a while.

Everyone have a wonderful week!!

What a great day we had today at the rodeo! Perfect weather, maybe a little too windy, but otherwise, great.
We had a chance to talk to Rocco Wachman (from CMT's Cowboy U and the Arizona Cowboy's College) a little more, and Jordan had her picture taken with him. She loves the show...and he was really nice.

Hi Stacy - your daughter is beautiful !- little tidbit - my DS was passing by and happened to glance at the monitor - he backpedaled and asked me who that was - I told him 'jailbait' (no offense intended - is this the 16yo right?) -he'll turn 21 in July and has a penchant for blondes - plus he just broke up with his 1-yr girlfriend so he's scouting - anyway, he just smiled and walked out of the house.

However, I won't be mentioning that you are coming out here next year just in case he changes his mind on the repo! - LOL - Just Kidding - really though - she is really cute and as the boys say - she's hot! So watch out - (as if I really needed to warn you right?)

Oh yeah - the mutton riding looks like great fun - I'm jealous of your sun and sky - it was windy today, cool and sometimes overcast here.

We hit America's Pet Expo in Costa Mesa and fell in love all over again with dogs - I have come to the conclusion however, that should something occurr to our 2 divas - I will go to a Siberian Husky Rescue Organization and save a life. I love puppies but all the sad faces :sad1: of dogs waiting to be adopted - my heart broke :sad1: - wish I had space for all of them

Hi pirate:s

I survived! The kids all had a blast! I had a great time too. I cooked for 100 people all weekend in a commercial kitchen. My chef parter is also a big foodie, so we made a lot of stuff up as we went along. How many Cub Scout gatherings have homemade ceasar salad with homemade croutons, spaghetti w/marinara & meat sauce (not from a jar), sauted spinach, normandy vegetables, and pound cake with macerated strawberries and chocolate drizzle? THEN we made breakfast & lunch today! It was all good. We really went to town. I love cooking, so it was more fun for me than building robots (which is what the kids & other parents did).

Gotta finish my taxes, I'll be back later. HHmmmm, what type of wine do you think goes with ketchup?

This pictures remind me of the yummy cowboys I see in Vegas once a year at rodeo time - I really must go to a rodeo someday! :rolleyes1

I do believe Usher's song can be inserted here :rolleyes1 It's getting hot in here! :rolleyes1

Oh Mark.......please do not post any more pics of me....It's torture I tell ya......It should be a law.....no one who's been on the Disney Dining Plan for a week should ever pose for a photograph :rotfl2: Well at least it got me to immediately join WW...even before my stupid old witchy boss called me fat :scared1: ....So no pics Bro okay???? :cool1:

You cut that out MR...I thought you looked cute in your pics!

Laura....I am so glad that your son ended up being OK. What a horrifying experience for your entire family to go thru. I hope that you don't still live next to the "people". :grouphug:

Laura, I'm with you when it comes to sad puppy dogs! I just can't go look at the dogs (and kitties) up for adoption. It breaks my heart!

Yes, Jordan is 16....17 in May. She is a cutie :cutie: but the best part is that she is a really nice, nice girl. Not that my two don't have their moments, honest.....but we feel so lucky to have kids who really don't cause us any kind of "real" trouble.
And yes, her dad watches her like a hawk! I can lose sight of her and if I don't see her right off the bat, I can always ask Jay. He knows exactly where she is at all times!

Thank you and your son for the compliment!!

Paula, Mark & Laura...welcome back! Sounds like you all had great trips!

I didn't have a chance yet to say WELCOME STEFANIA! Pretty name!!

:welcome: :welcome: :welcome:

Hey!
I can’t believe that my first post on this thread is going to be about a dog and not Disney but ohh well!
I’m not sure if you are looking for a puppy or not but my DH used to work with a woman who was very involved in a boxer rescue in New Mexico. Not sure where in OK you are but we made the drive from Albuquerque to OKC when our son was born and it was not THAT bad of a drive. But it might have been the excitement also!! Her group is rather nutty about placements but I know they have driven good distances to place dogs. As for the age, she has had several litters of puppies so you might be able to get one rather young! If you are interested let me know and I can give you her information, I’m sure she would be glad to talk to you and give you more into!

Welcome to the thread, Gabby! :goodvibes Much easier to keep up with than Friday chat. :thumbsup2

Hi Pete!

Just want to say thanks for the hospitality and you can count us in on the next meet. The weather here this am was pretty crappy but we need the rain.Still very windy and the temps really dropped. The left just in time.

Thanks for really making me feel guilty.:rotfl2: I have one page done from my first crusie two years ago.:thumbsup2 I just need to make the time!!!!

Don't feel too guilty....the holiday album now has Christmas done thru 2001...but still needs a few things added to embellish a bit. Today I worked on DS's 3rd Bday party. See....I'm not that great at keeping up. I have only done our first cruise so far. I have all of the scrapbooks & lots of paper...no pictures yet though. That's 3 cruises & a trip to WDW on its own along with our trip to DC last year that need scrapping.
