Oh wow, Chris, I didn't realize they were up here. We'll have to get the kids together again this summer. Maybe Exploratorium or something??

Hi Monica,
Yeah, Melissa & Jack are my son's children. Jack really liked Trevoy - we'll plan something fun to do while I'm up there!
Hope you are have a great weekend.

Chris

Hello everyone!pirate:

Just got back from WDW last night. Glad to be back home but miss Mickey already! Had to drive through some of this storm. It's very nasty here in NYC today. My tulips did well. Just about ready to Bloom.

I'd like to thank everyone who participated in our DIS mini meet down in Florida. We all had a great time. Thanks to all. We had lots of cake. I was happy to finally meet you all. So many nice people. Special thanks to all with cameras. Thanks to Andy for posting pics for all to see.

I'd like to start thinking about another meet this August. We will be there for 10 days from the 20-30 of August. Preliminary dates would be Friday Aug. 24 or Sat. Aug. 25, at the Wilderness Lodge or Beach Club near their DVC Pools.

Let me know what you think?

Good to be back home hope everyone is well!

:)

Well, need to catch up. Not bad only 250 pages! A few months ago there would be 250 pages per day!:)

 Welcome Back Peter and Johnna!!!

The mini-meet was so much fun and we have you, Jack, and your families to thank for hosting such a fun time!!!

Hazel and I are thinking about taking another trip to Florida in August, so we'll let you know later on if we schedule one. We'd love to have another meet again, if at all possible.

I'm hoping we can find a good DING special from Southwest, these 1,000 mile driving trips are getting to be a bit too much, for my old gal and myself..........:rotfl:

Thanks for the welcome.

You're right, that was 96 - I checked the old photos - we got at least that much snow, I think even more. I was lucky with that one, both DD's were at Rowan U (Glassboro State) then and they had some of their friends staying at our house, so I had a lot of help with the shoveling.

We moved here from Glassboro, right now we are where Lake, Sumter and Marion County touch. You probably saw some shots of our community when the tornado touched down here early in February. We were lucky but some of our friends not two miles away lost everything.

We are getting the tail end of the front that is bringing you your nor'easter. It's cloudy with occasional showers (75 degrees). But we are so dry we are happy about the rain.

Well I have to run out, since my girls are flying in for this next trip I am the designated shopper. Got to load up on the snax, box drinks, etc. for the grandkids. Grandmom can't be waiting at MCO with out a van full of goodies.

Barbara

The area my mom lives in was hit very hard with the tornadoes that touched down on February 2nd. Several people lost their lives just a few blocks from my mom. I got to see that area first hand just last week while we were visiting my mom. We are in the Glassboro area quite often, since we attend church at GCCC, we often run out to eat at the Glassboro Friendly's, or Peking Buffet, after church.

Me, Jack and our families all had a great time. We all want to have another meet. Everyone was so nice. I'd like to see if anyother DISers would be interested if they will be down in Florida at that time.

Andy thanks for all the pictures they really came out good.

Andy,

Please say hi to your Mom for me as well as Hazel and Angelina.

:)

Will do, and please give everyone our best as well.................

We have to pick Angelina up at 4pm from work, then we might be heading to Applebees for dinner since it is just around the corner from the mall. Of course, we might need to travel by an ark by the time we head back out in a few hours................

Hi guys!!! Just checking in. I think I posted last week that we were buying a Boxer puppy(?) :sad2: Anyways, after doing a bit of research, with much advice from a "Boxer Board",we came to the conclusion that this was actually a Puppy Mill!
So,with a lot of soul searching and discussion, we decided to Not bring this particular puppy into our lives. We have to forfeit our $150. deposit, but that's better than paying for him and then having a mess of medical bills later on down the road. So, now my search begins again. Does anybody happen to know of any Reputable breeders in the state of Oklahoma. Would also consider Texas,Missouri or Arkansas. As long as it isn't a 600 mile trip one way!

Welcome Back

Would love a mini meet, but we won't get to WDW until Sept 1. :sad2:

Some in the crowd were thinking he was a wimp...until he landed head first in the dirt!

Sounds like my DD everytime she gets to ride this one horse at the barn...

If your not positioned "just so" the horse will stop dead before a jump and throw the rider off.

Luckily DD has tough skin because i can tell you she's come home some weeks quite bruised up....Two weeks ago she fell during a jump and hit the poles and had her shoulder scraped and bruised.

One time that horse throw a smaller girl and she got pretty bruised and hurt.

These kids just get back on though...

Figured this crowd would fine some humor in this....

Sitting here watching the rain and listening to DS and friend play on-line game "Runescape" and apparently cake is healthy and will heal you.:cake:

Welcome back Peter & Johanna. We enjoyed the photos of the mini meet - it was almost (but not quite) like being there.

Good morning folks!

We're back from Vegas and I saw your posts refers to the healing qualities of ... cake. Well, I'm happy to share that just a couple days ago at a Vegas buffett my spouse confided that the restuarant probably lost money on me with all the dessert I was taking! So - I can attest to the renewing qualities of cake and dessert in general!

Yes, cake heals all!

I just stumbled onto this site. I can't believe how long it is. DH and I and our youngest DD are booked on this repo cruise and are so excited. There are alot of Jersey posters on this thread. DH and I moved to Central Florida (The Villages) from Gloucester County almost three years ago. The kids are still up North in PA (just across the river). We do not miss the snow or ice. I was up in PA for snow this past February. It was nice to sit inside and look out and just enjoy it.

I know what you're talking about working in the weather (oh and also about the knees). DH spent 32 years working in the gas department of PECO. He's already had surgery on both knees. The weather just makes your jobs harder. I didn't see him for seven days during the blizzard of -- oh, I can't remember what year that was. I lost track of the number of ice storms he was MIA for. He works retail now and that is not much better on the knees.

But before we can concentrate on this cruise we get to enjoy the Magic in two weeks. The whole family (DH and I, two DD's, one SIL and two of the greatest grandkids in the world) are counting the hours till our 4/28 Eastern. This will be our fourth DCL cruise. Once we get back we will be able to begin that countdown for the repo. But, I have to do it quietly because our oldest DD pouts everytime we mention it. It won't be quite the same without the grandkids but there is no way she can miss the start of school year. The grandkids (they are 2 and 4 now) can miss but they frown on the teacher not showing up for the first week. She is taking a sabbatical in 2010 so she is hoping they run another Canal Repo that August. That one will have the whole clan of us aboard.

All day I have been meaning to start getting ready for our cruise but it was such a beautiful day here - 88 and sunny - I spent the afternoon out in my golf cart. Then I planned on just checking in for a "few minutes" on the boards and now here it is three hours later. I better search my computer for my packing list and begin working on it. When I get back I don't know how many pages I will find here. It will take me months to check it all out.

We're pleased to have ya on the voyage! It's gonna be a ton of fun! Be sure to glance at the summaries and references on the first page. Like you we have been on four Disney cruises. Or rather, you will have 4 under your belt in another 3 weeks or so.

So... welcome again to this wild pirate ride. OK, it's not really all that wild (yet) as can you just IMAGINE what things will be like in the closing weeks and months to embarkation with so many fun lovin' DIS folks? At any rate, it promises to be a fun gang to wander with vicariously here til we're all on our East-bound journey next August!

Have you considered checking w/Boxer rescue groups? My last 4 German Shepherds came thru rescue - just got Max in March & he was only 3 mos. old. These have been among the best pets I've ever had.
Just a thought..
