Here's a great story.
My middle DD was in the Middle School Chorus. In order to get an "A" in that class, you only had to be in school and at chorus class every day. She had a solid "A". It was time for the Christmas chorus program. DD was sick, sick, sick. She had strep throat, fever and was also sick to her stomach. I kept her home from the concert. Her teacher gave her an "F" for the ENTIRE course!
I called the teacher, and was told that it was an "All or nothing" grade. She said if they didn't show up for the concert, the "rule" was, they got an instant "F". She went on to tell me that one girl and her father got into a car accident on the way to the concert, and that girl also got an "F" for not being there!
So my reasoning was that the kids could not show up for class all year, but show up for the concert, and still get an "A"?????
Of course, I called the principal, gave them a note from Jordan's doctor, and the grade was changed to a "C". I still wasn't happy, but they wouldn't budge any further than that.
