Just how many people here have a DH (or DW) who is one of 10??? DH was in college when he found out his DM was expecting number 9. He didn't talk to her for a month! Number 10 came a couple years later. Here I thought having 3 brothers and a sister was a lot.:upsidedow

Caroline....did you read about anyone else besides your DH and mine? That would be strange wouldn't it. You don't hear about that many kids in families in a long time! My MIL had 10 kids in 20 years. It took my Inlaws five years to conceive their first child after being told they probably wouldn't be blessed with kids..........Boy did the DR. get that wrong or WHAT?? :rotfl: :rotfl:

Since it is so slow, I thought I would post this to give everyone a chuckle!!:rotfl2: I am not saying its true but......

A Spanish teacher
was explaining to her class
that in Spanish, unlike English,
nouns are designated as either
masculine or feminine.

"House"
for instance,
is feminine:
"la casa."

"Pencil,"
however,
is masculine:
"el lapiz."

A student asked,
"What gender is 'computer'?"

Instead of giving the answer,
the teacher split the class into two groups,
male and female,
and asked them to decide
for themselves whether
"computer"
should be
a masculine or a feminine noun.

Each group was asked
to give four reasons
for its recommendation.

The men's group decided that
"computer"
should definitely be
of the feminine gender
("la computadora"),
because:
1. No one but their creator
understands their internal logic;

2. The native language
they use to communicate
with other computers is
incomprehensible to everyone else;

3. Even the smallest mistakes
are stored in long term memory
for possible later retrieval; and

4. As soon as you make
a commitment to one,
you find yourself spending
half your paych eck
on accessories for it.

(THIS GETS BETTER !)

The women's group,
however, concluded
that computers should be Masculine
("el computador"),
because:
1. In order to do anything
with them,
you have to turn them on;

2. They have a lot of data
but still can't think for themselves;

3. They are supposed
to help you solve problems,
but half the time
they ARE the problem; and

4. As soon as you commit to one,
you realize that if you
had waited a little longer,
you could have gotten
a better model.

The women won

This is sooo true :lmao: :lmao:

AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!! I feel like screaming this afternoon!!! :headache:

I have NO energy, there's a virtual single file line of people outside the door to my office who want to add to the stack of tasks on my desk (which is already a mile and a half high), and my desk is a MESS!!! :scared:

That last part is the key...if my desk is not in order, I cannot function...
Calgon, take me away...:headache:

Aaaawwww sweetie you and I could have offices next to each other. It never ends. I have started saying to folks, "You can have it right. You can have it now. You cannot have it right-now." Most get it and decide they want it right and come up with more realistic deadline. Then there are those that I have to simply say, "Get the f^%* out of my office and come back once you have a clue." They come back a few hours later more, enlightened. (These are typically the new Ph.D who think they know everything and the degree gives them the right to everything.)

Just remember: No, is a perfectly acceptable answer.

Well guess what happened today at work......I looks like I might be getting another boss...well who cares about that.......but wait, maybe this will be good......maybe they'll be under 80-years-old, know how to use computers and not walk around dropping the "F" bombs all day (and other bombs too, if you know what I mean ;) ). They tell me the candidates are on the younger side GREAT. So in comes the candidate, I wait as they walks down the hall where I sit that I lovingly refer to as Death Row (no explanation needed here) .....will it a man or a woman? have a kind face or a grumpy one?...here they come.....here they come.......oooh it's a man......oooh he looks kinda mean......OH NO......HE'S AS OLD AS METHUSELAH!!!! Good Night Irene I GIVE UP!

:lmao: :lmao: MR, you are so funny!! Now just look at the bright side. Working around the ancient ones must make you feel super young and hot!

I on the other hand work for a medical group where we are now regularly hiring docs who are younger than me and it's just so annoying. Doctors are supposed to be older than me!!! Where the heck is Marcus Welby, MD?

A mighty fine looking wench if I do say so myself!!! :thumbsup2

My mother is the 3rd of 11 kids. My youngest aunt is only 3 years older than me.

Good Evening Everyone!!! Happy Wednesday!!

I came home from work tonight and immediately fell asleep.....

Tomorrow my DH is having MOHS surgery on a basal cell carcinoma on his left temple. A specialist referred him to yet another specialist in Princeton NJ because the lesion is laying on the nerve that controls the forehead. Now he's had a few lesions removed over the years, so the surgery isn't scaring him, but he idea that he may no longer have control over his forehead muscles has him concerned. Well I am worried about him and my first reaction.....fall into a dead sleep! Please keep good thoughts for John tomorrow, the procedure may take many hours. Thanks!

Prayers and pixiedust: sending your way. I hope things go well for you and your family.

Thanks everyone for your well wishes for John (and me too), we really appreciate them!

Lorri glad you and DS are all better now! Hope you ketchup quick at work!

Andy good for Angelina!! Hope she gets the call ASAP! I also hope the medicine works quickly for Hazel.....is she any better today?

Caroline I love when you ketchup....it's like a blast from the past! So often post things that I miss, such as this about Jen, so thanks!

Jen I missed that post about your nephew, I hope he finds his way, the teen years are the most trying of all....for the teen, and for the family. :grouphug: and prayers for him!

Hazel did have two small episodes while we were at the mall this afternoon, but she just started on the meds this morning, I'm hoping to see improvement over the next few days or week.

I'd like to introduce myself (through my DS VM). My name is Vi (Verandah Gran) and I will be sailing with you on the August 2008 Repo Cruise. I'm not sure how much I will be posting since at the present time my computer is not working but my DS Rob is fixing with up with another computer and my DS Andy is supposed to bring it to me when he, Hazel and Angelina come down to Florida for a visit later this month.

For more info about me, please look in VM's post below #44199.
