LISA!!! Welcome Back!!! How did everything go???

Thanks for posting the pics and

Thanks Laura for gathering the info and taking the pics!!!

Yuck! I had colonoscopy a year and half ago. Had already been diagnosised with IBS and had done the med's and they seemed to work. Then one day out of the clear blue I thought I was going to die - I had the worst pain ever in my left lower stomach abdominal area. Thought it might be something girlie and went through a bunch of tests - nothing. Regular doc refers me to the specialist who run a gamut of tests on me - catscan, MRI, MRI with contrast - in the midst of all this discovered that I have gallstones (which explains my near 0 cholosterol) and something on my liver. Finally do the colonoscopy (never want to do one again!) to be told that I have nothing more than a spastic colon (TG). In the long run it's better to go through the stupid thing to make sure that it really isn't anything more serious.

Lorri, here's the thing about the colonoscopy. I have a really really really bad fear of anesthesia. Goes back to the ether thing when they took my tonsils out at age 6. Still remember that spiral into oblivion. I told my dr that I didn't want to be put out for the test and since I saw Katie Couric do it on tv sedated, I felt it would be a piece of cake. Ha! Dr. promised. Well the last thing I remember is talking to dr in the procedure room and then bango, I woke up in the recovery. They swear I wasn't put out, but told me the drugs can cause amnesia? That freaked me out . The fact I was talking to someone and have absolutely no memory I hope I didn't embarass myself:rotfl2:

The test was nothing, but the day before, I thought I was going to die. And most of my friends who have had this done since have used a different med and it didn't cause the violent running to the bathroom. This is why I think we have to sedate him the day before the test if they insist on getting it done.

Oh by the way. Last year they renamed my department at work IBS which stands for inbound servicing. My friend kept asking the mgrs why they thought we all had bad colons and they didn't have a clue:rotfl:

good enough reasons for me

the talk the other day about Tortuga rum cake has me seriuosly tempted to order some online.....hmm....wonder how many points a slice of that is?...heck who can stop at a slice....it'd be the whole thing :rotfl:

I have the small Tortuga 4oz and 1 serving is 200 cal.2 servings per box.

You were talking about Steele Magnolias, right? This is one of my all time favorite movies. And everytime I see it I break out in the "ugly cry". You know, not just a little misty-eyed, or a dainty little tear falling down my cheek....Oh no! It's the "UGLY CRY"!

And my personal favorite line from the movie is when Shelby sayd "Pink is my signature color."

I have always liked the sceen where they say that Clairee's hair cut makes her head look like a football helmet. :lmao: I am always crying by that point & it makes me smile.

Good Evening Everyone!!! Happy Wednesday!!

I came home from work tonight and immediately fell asleep.....

Tomorrow my DH is having MOHS surgery on a basal cell carcinoma on his left temple. A specialist referred him to yet another specialist in Princeton NJ because the lesion is laying on the nerve that controls the forehead. Now he's had a few lesions removed over the years, so the surgery isn't scaring him, but he idea that he may no longer have control over his forehead muscles has him concerned. Well I am worried about him and my first reaction.....fall into a dead sleep! Please keep good thoughts for John tomorrow, the procedure may take many hours. Thanks!

Lots of luck it will be ok.pixiedust:

Steel Magnolias!!
I LOVE that movie!!!

Welcome back Lisa!! :woohoo: :cool1: :dance3: :yay: :cheer2:

Did you have a good vacation???

Good night everyone. I think I am going to turn this puter off now. Have a great Thursday.:)

Too bad I couldn't use that logic back in high school. I would have gotten straight A's. :rotfl2:

I could just see the arguments with the teacher, I'm right, you just asked the wrong questions. :lmao:

You catch on quickly! :thumbsup2 :rotfl2:

OK, now it's time for beddy-bye...
Night everyone! See you tomorrow!

Just how many people here have a DH (or DW) who is one of 10??? DH was in college when he found out his DM was expecting number 9. He didn't talk to her for a month! Number 10 came a couple years later. Here I thought having 3 brothers and a sister was a lot.:upsidedow

I'm number 8 of 9. I have 6 brothers & 2 sisters. I think you know from my stories that we're a wild bunch when we all get together, which isn't very often these days.

Do most folks use the Lab / club for the kids? Wondering what folks' experience has been with these....

Should I follow the Passporters suggestions to sign up on day 1?

What have the veterans on board done w/ regard to the Children activities?

I don't know if you ever got an answer to this question, but you can register them on-line & pick up pages, bracelets, etc. in the terminal. I have a DD that is not thrilled with the kid's clubs. She is shy & if she doesn't hook up with someone, she doesn't like to go very much. This time she'll be a teen so I don't know how that will go. I have a DS that can't tear himself away from the lab. He's not shy at all & he especially likes when the have the sports activities up on the top deck. I hope that answered your question somewhat?

Now you have me looking Andy! I've been good this year not buying anything "frivolous" yet.

That is a really cute Irish Mickey! Speaking of Irish....I just downloaded The Unicorn & The Black Velvet Band by the Irish Rovers on my IPOD. My kids love it when I blast it in the kitchen! We're in the spirit for St. Patty's Day me lads & laddies!!!

Diane....please please encourage her to wait longer before wearing hoops. I remember that age and waited that 6 wks to wear just small dangly wire earrings... Got the worst infection ever....

I'd tell her to wait longer, honestly...

Thanks for the heads up Kristina! I'll let her know what you said, but you know stinky teens or in this case pre-teens...they know everything! I'll just have to keep a close eye on her ears & make sure she is using her cleaner every night. I did warn her about getting them caught or pulled. One of my holes is extended from wearing those big earrings in the 80's. :guilty:
