If y'all could...we could use some prayers....

DH's father became very ill duringthe night/today. He refused to go to the Dr for MIL. So, BIL called dh -- FIL is more likely to listen to my dh then he is to other family members. DH took him this afternoon to the Emergency Room. They are still there having tests run.

FIL is 78 but, extremely healthy -- golf 4 or 5 times a week, etc... Worked full time (CEO until this last month and now a *consultant* for the company), etc....

MIL doesn't do well with illness and she said that he looked just like *Ruby before she died * (she died of pancreatic cancer about 6 months ago).

FIL, MIL & DH cold use the prayers!!!

Prayers to your family!

Shelley, according to a date calculator 60 days from today would be August 10th.
ack!

Does anyone know for sure there is going to be a Mickey Mouse Club night?
I don't want to shop for this too if it is not a given.
Even if it doesn't happen- we're wearing our shirts. Even if they don't fit- so if you see a fat woman with a really tight OR really loose/huge mickey club shirt on - with the name Shelley on the back- that be me. LOL

Disneyland works differently, they do not take into account the months that have 31 days. It is 60 days from the date itself. For August 11 you can make reservations starting today, June 11.
so for the 12th- make ressies tomorrow?

Can we be 100% sure, NO. I appears that nothing with DCL is 100% sure. We do know that it was on the 2005 Repo and the WB 2008 Repo. If they do not have it we can all just pick a night and show up in them. :rotfl2:
right!
if we can make a pajama breakfast day (not my favorite idea, btw. but sounds fun for some people!) then we can do this! hehe

Try the Neutragena *dry touch* sunblock. It can be used on the face, also. It is not greasy!

My magnet paper is paper on one side and a magnet on the other and I run it through my printer.....
Okay I'll look into that. never seen "dry touch" before but I'll look for it!
Our magnet paper was sticky with backing on it on one side. I thought I'd just print some stuff out on kodak picture paper and stick it to it. My plans were thwarted by the stuff not really being sticky like it should! ugh

Oh and zazzle responded to my email saying the ENTIRE magnet order was cancelled because they "can't" just cancel part of the magnet order. So WHATEVER.
He also went on to say that ANYTHING with the image, name, or likeness of disney can't be used -only stuff on their disney ink page which he linked me to. But when I went there- all the options you have are shirt, mug, print, mousepad or stamp- there is no option to make those images into magnets! ugh

If y'all could...we could use some prayers....

(ack when you said ruby before she died.... my daughter's name is ruby!)

It sounds like they are very much alike. I bet they will get along great. Next fall will be her second year of cheerleading. They have a no-cut squad, so no tryouts, but they work very hard and I was amazed at how far they came last fall with only 4 returning from the year before. Our school last fall switched from junior high to middle school. Impressive job on the grades including algebra. That is not easy. It will be interesting to see what level classes mine ends up in for next year. I'll send you a pm. Thanks for all the help!

Well they may change things in the future here but up until last year here they had intermediate for 5th/6th graders and only 7th/8th in middle school. So towards the end of 7th grade they could try out for cheerleader and that meant cheerleaders were always in 8th grade (they'd try out for next year). NOW they changed all the 5th graders back to elementary schools, changed the intermediate school into another middle school and divided up all the 6/7/8th graders into the middle schools. So who knows- in the future they might decide that they can try out in 6th grade and be cheerleaders in 7th grade or both grades. Is it kinda unfair to try out in 6th grade and "no cut" so they stay cheerleaders for 2yrs? I dunno. but here only 8th graders, at the present time, are cheerleaders. She didn't try out for highschool cheerleading -even though I told her the same cheerleaders wouldn't be cheerleaders since they, and their moms, all said they WERE NOT trying out again (so they could be in athletics- all of them were in athletics this previous year- even those in band quit band so they could do cheerleading and athletics, except my Ruby who stayed in band and gave up athletics) BUT she chose soccer instead and I'm glad she did because they lied. the entire squad tried out again and about 3/4ths of them made highschool cheerleading so I'm GLAD she chose not to- she would have been with those same girls!
(and btw- they weren't just mean- they were downright dangerous.. like dropping Ruby -she was a topper- and threatening to drop her, threatening to bite her while they held her up, etc. And they got away with this behavior because the coach let them stay on the squad and just ended up not using Ruby as a topper as much! Really taught THEM a lesson huh? not..... except this year the cheerleaders had to perform at the parents meeting for the tryouts for NEXT year and during that parents meeting she gave a long lecture, that she had not given to our parents meeting the previous year, about how they can't threaten to harm anyone or drop them/etc. why she decided to implement that in the FUTURE but not at that present time is beyond me. long story though. anyway just wanted to explain this wasn't simply they weren't nice to her- it was downright dangerous for her to do stunts with girls like that!)
so I'm glad she didn't take my advice and didn't try out again. LOL
See- sometimes moms aren't always right..... (she did really like cheerleading though...)

Hey, I used to sell Mary Kay products until I got smart! - Long story. Anyway, I use the day solution w/ spf in it. I works great. If you send ma a PM with your address, I can mail you some samples that I have left over. You can try it before you buy it. It works great and you don't even know you have it on. I have used it for as long as it has been around (years and years). Let me make myself clear, I am not a MK consultant - I am a past MK consultant that got smart!:rotfl2:
Okay i'll send you a pm. i'm open to trying anything at this point!

Roger...We had the Mickey Club Day on the 10 Southern. I thnk it is always done on Special cruises!!!!
Okay so how come if all you guys knew about this going on all the other special cruises mentioned in the last few posts- it isn't until NOW that someone mentions it? I mean why is this the first we've heard about it- nothing for a year and then 2mo before you're all like oh yeah they did this on all the special cruises in the past? hello? LOL slipped y'alls minds huh? hehe

So what days does DL have early entry with multi-day park-hopping tickets? I would like to make a ressie at Goofy's Kitchen for brunch after seeing all those great pics on the earlier threads. Figured head to the park early, late brunch. What do you experts think?

Bought this for DS tonight

Found it by accident since the seller spelled cumberbund without the 'd'
When I lost a previous auction, my loser email had a list of similar items and there it was!

cute!

Hi all ... any updates on the Scrap Swap??? I am down to 60 days, as I leave on August 10. I'm doing the Backstage Magic tour before the cruise, thanks to my bonus signing DVC points :cool1: I can't wait. I get to see Walt's apartment, but no Club 33. I can't wait to see the Imagineering studio. It is going to be a blast. I'll have tons of pictures if anyone is interested. Also, any updates on the wine party. I volunteered a while back to help out if needed, but haven't heard anything further. I'm more of a behind the scene's helper than a planner.

MJ

But Cheryl, they did not do it on the Med Repos :confused3

I think............I don't know why!!!;) ;)

I had only been on one seven day before the 10 day cruise. ::yes:: My opinion is that the Mickey Mouse Club Day was not that big of deal.:confused3 We celebrated it while I was in Animators!! It was fun but not the highlight of my life or trip.
:rolleyes2

Maybe ask Stephanie if she thought it was that big of a deal???:rolleyes1

Saw this on the budget board today. I know I need to pick up a few new pair of dockers for DH and one of my DS's....this is perfect timing for me!

Buy $100 in Docker's at Sears, get a $75 Shell gift card in the mail
http://www.206inc.com/dockersgiftcard2008
Thanks !! DH needs some new dockers anyway:thumbsup2

All this talk about sunscreen/block maybe someone can help me out.
I need something for my FACE that blocks the sun but doesn't make my face all greasy because that makes me break out! I have to keep the sun off my face because I have this awful (ugh I hate it!) brown splotches on my face (pregnancy mask that never left... and gets worse with the sun) and it will get darker and darker with the slightest bit of sun on my face- and now it's not just on my cheeks but working it's way up (slowly over the years) around the outside of my face up to my forehead! I put sunblock on but it's all either
A) greasy and makes my face break out- so I end up looking like a zitface all summer long- my T-zone is oily anyway without the sunblock!
B) if I try to use the spray stuff- it works better but if I swim or sweat or anything then it gets in my eyes and burns like you wouldn't believe.

I've tried the neutrogena face stick and various other things meant for the face and says non-greasy but it's SO greasy.. they so lie. Anyone have any suggestions for sunblock for the face that doesn't make your face super greasy and is waterproof so it doesn't burn the eyes? Please let me know!
Bip, I've had the same problem in the past and found one recommended for sensitive skin that works great for me.

It isn't cheap, but one tube lasts me a long time and I use it every day.

Is anyone else using some place to make the magnets for you or are you all making them by yourself? I was going to but the magnet paper I bought the backing when you take it off- the magnet isn't sticky! so I have to return this to the store and I thought it would just be easier to buy a few already made for me. sigh
Bip, I'm not crafty at all, but I made my own door signs last cruise. I just copied the pics I wanted onto photo paper, took them to kinkos to laminate them and then put magnetic tape on the back. I got the magnetic tape at Walmart. My DS helped me personalize the pics on the computer so they wouldn't walk away on the cruise.
There is magnetic paper, but I've heard of some folks having problems using it in their printers.

Hope he's ok.
Sending our prayers:hug:

I was just going to point that out. Call on the number day of the month that corresponds to the number day that you want to eat.

Honestly the only thing that usually sells out on the 60 day mark is the preferred viewing for Fantasmic, and that's usually the balcony which is not even available anymore. So if you take a few days to make some plans, you'll be fine.

The only must do for us is Goofy's Kitchen for brunch, but we are going to pass on it this time. But then again, if this trip is like any other trip, once I get there, I'll start calling and see when I can squeeze it in.

I would probably throw in Blue Bayou into the one place that sells out in advance

If y'all could...we could use some prayers....

ack!

so for the 12th- make ressies tomorrow?

Yes that is correct - you also have to call each day it doesn't work like WDW where you can book more then one day at a time

Crash will be so proud of me...................I really have been on the fence about the fish extender thing and was worried about the kids fighting over everything AND what to get to give to others and how to get 100 somethings in our overpacked luggage without breaking the weight limit.:(

Well.............the answer sort of fell into my lap the other day::yes:: . DH and I came up with a great idea - something every adult will appreciate at some point on our cruise :cool1: so we now have 108 fish extender gifts! They won't take up much space nor do they weight much so we are good there. I think I will use the advice of some others on this board and claim everything is MINE unless I deem otherwise to avoid the bickering.

I already sent bellenius a PM to sign up. Two questions though, should I label my gifts somehow so everyone knows where it came from - is that required? Also, can someone direct me to the FE link that shows how to make one? I am pretty handy in the sewing dept so I would like to make our own. THANKS!!!:lovestruc

There ya go! I was hoping Disney online would have the shirts but they do not.

can you get early entry with just the tickets when you're not staying in a DL resort? If so, I'd like to know the answer to this question too! hehe

I had only been on one seven day before the 10 day cruise. ::yes:: My opinion is that the Mickey Mouse Club Day was not that big of deal.:confused3 We celebrated it while I was in Animators!! It was fun but not the highlight of my life or trip.

LOL
I quoted you but was responding to everyone commenting about it- NOT just you. :)
Oh I just like the shirts and think it will be cool with them dressed like that. I like old-time mickey... I guess. LOL

Bip, I've had the same problem in the past and found one recommended for sensitive skin that works great for me.

Okay I will check out the sunblock.
I'm not crafty either- which is why I liked the idea of just making some magnets with zazzle- but that sure didn't work....... LOL I figured the $1.62 each I was paying was way worth it- considering I'd have to use my ink, magnet paper OR like you said using my ink then getting them laminated then adding magnet paper plus my time and energy- well worth it. too bad it didn't work out though. :(

Yes that is correct - you also have to call each day it doesn't work like WDW where you can book more then one day at a time
We don't plan on eating at character meals or things that require ADR's everyday anyway. can't afford it! But it is our first (and maybe only? I don't know) trip to DL so I thought we'd try one or two.. if I knew which ones were "not to miss".

We might be in we might be out...

We missed the original reservation deadline and so I put our name in with a travel agent in case anything came up. Lat week we got the call that rooms had opened up. After ALOT of discussion :worship: and some internet surfing on the cost of alternative 15 day vacations I finally convinced DH to go for it. It took less time then the Med Cruise last summer so we have some progress.

Our problem now is can we get two rooms close to each other. I am not crazy about my 13 year old and 16 year old being in a room across the ship from us and my DH is not crazy about the idea of him staying with my sons and me my daughter.

Please send us some pixy dust. :wizard: We love Disney and this would be our 7th Disney cruise.

ugh my entire post disappeared. not sure what I mistyped but some button on here deleted it all and have to start over! sigh

thanks for the suggestions!

She sounds a lot like my daughter- even though my daughter is 14 now they should get along great I hope! My daughter tends to gravitate towards the younger group (like in school most of her friends, boys and girls, were 7th graders. all her "best friends" from her same age group moved to the new middle school last year now that they had 2 middle schools and all the new friends she made last year were in 7th grade even though she was in 8th grade!) but they have a lot of similarities- well she WAS straight A's until this last yr but I have to give her credit even for the B's because she was put in all the advanced classes this year including one credit for highschool (algebra), she's in band, she was a cheerleader (but didn't try out for next year- didn't like the mean cheerleaders and wants to do soccer and band next year- she couldn't do soccer if she was a cheerleader), she's in girl scouts, very involved in church youth group, and loves to swim! hehe She was also in student council and Honor Society... maybe they'll get along great. :)

Oh so the shirts were zazzle's design? I thought it was someone who put that design on the shirt since I only went thru the link LOL I didn't know it was theirs!
LOL @ sailing on the ship which cannot be named! I wish I knew this before I spent all that time last night making magnets and thinking I was done with that. pout

What sale price are you talking about?
if you're talking about the $4 off each shirt- we got the sale price because I did finally get my order in before the 11:59pm PDT ending of that sale. If you mean some other sale- we missed it. Did you order before 11:59pm PDT and still didn't get the $4 off per shirt?
I got the sale price but it just paid for the text on the back. If I had put the names on the front it would be free but adding it on the back added $4 (even though it said $3 before putting it in my cart- weird huh?) -so basically I got the names on the back added free. It kept popping up a thing saying text this item for free but when I clicked on it- nothing happened. they are kinda messed up IMO- because then the code they state on there for free shipping didn't work either.....

yes..the sale price..I ordered mine yesterday at 4pm PST and when I went to check out..they went to 19.95..I called the company and it said that the sale ended at 7pm EST (which would have been 4pm my time) very strange..glad you got the sale price..we opted to transfer ours..will see how it goes.

WELCOME ABOARD:yay: :yay:
Maybe if you call every day and bug them a lot, they will come through with those rooms together for you:thumbsup2
We're still GTY, so there should be some rooms left that are close:confused3

We saw it on the 11 nite, and it seemed like a lightweight way for them to finish up the cruise (it was on the final night).

But pirates, being pirates, I'm sure we can liven it up some pirate:

Andy

Oh yeah.....my 250 FE gifts arrived today. DD was extatic, she can't wait to help hand them out :rotfl: little does she know how much walking will be involved.
