DS11's team won the second game of the championship series. Final game is tonight. :cool1:

Last day of school today, 1/2 day. I've been off since Wed at noon. yea me. :woohoo:

My interview is Monday. Got a new suit, got new shoes, got a second better fitting suit, took the first suit back. Did my research, talked to my insiders. :thumbsup2

so, really, any new developments? Have they decided to charge airplane passangers by the pound yet? Are they just going to push us off the plane during a fly by of the air port? Tuck & Roll, Tuck & Roll !!

Congrats to your ds and good luck to you!!!

Happy Friday the 13th to all! May it be a very lucky day for everybody!

Thanks for the comments on DS's graduation pic's. The picture of him getting his diploma was actually very far away...DH has a really awesome camera and big ole' zoom lens...LOL Yes, we are very proud of him. He leaves on tour with his drum corp in a few weeks. World Finals will be in Indiana this year just 2 weeks before we leave on TOAL! LOL

Today is DD's last day of school, so they will all officially be out and to celebrate...I'm going out with girlfriends tonight to dinner and to a craft fair for a belated birthday celebration!! hahaha

There is a wonderful book that I read when my daughter was having trouble with the "MEAN GIRLS" that really changed my mind set and helped me help her. The book is called "Odd Girl Out". It was written by a woman who studied the behaviors of adolescents girls towards each other and then traced the impact of these behaviors in adult women. Bottom line - Boys get mad and get over it. - Girls can be mean in a way that wounds for life. I think it is must read for all parents of adolescent girls. It helped us make some tough calls on things like schools and have a language to talk to her about what she was going through.

I don't know about you all but parenting is not easy and you want the best for your kids but sometimes I don't know what that is so I will take all the help I can get.

I'm just starting to catch up - and will not be really fully catching up today since my time is limited (and just about OUT) .. but I wanted to chime in and say - yeah - this particular subject LOOKS of great interest to me. I try to be the best DAd (and HUSBAND) that I can be ... and it's not easy. Parenting is an anxious thing sometimes - and we DO want the best for our kids.

In this past year I've noted some of the girls getting "catty"... and it's difficult to see the kids picking favorites and shunning others. It's tough being a kid in some ways. And little girls are an entirely new thing to me as I only have serious experience being a little boy. In some ways I'm still trying to get out of that phase too! With any luck - all of us are still clinging to a little of our childhood whimsy too.

I think the book was even more insightful to my husband having never been a 13 year old girl and never experienced it first hand. My daughter does some things that drive him crazy and just make me laugh remembering how it was when I was her age. She went to her first prom a few eeks ago. It was all I could do to keep him from followin the limo on his motorcycle.:moped:

K....If you need our cabin #'s, we don't have assignments yet. We are in 2 Cat 11 GTY's. I can tell you our cabin #'s as soon as we get them.

can you pm or email me your last name that is shown as the lead on each cabin and which occupants are listed in them

EX:

Cabin #GTY - Smith Family 2A 1 C
Cabin #GTY - Doe Family 1A 1C

(dining needs to know what rooms and passenger types they are pulling)

Question for the crafters and seamstresses out there, besides ebay where is a good place for buttons? I need a lot of them for DS's costume so Joanns and Micheals gets expensive. I'm not finding any suitable on ebay. So where else can I look?

Monica, if you can make it into the city, Britex (on Geary) has a great selection of buttons. They're priced by the button, so you're not locked into the number of buttons on a card like Joanne's or Michael's. You could also try General Bead on Minna - it's a bead store, but if you need lots of buttons, you can sometimes use large beads for the same purpose.

Andy, Austyn will love having Sarah for dinner.

With salt or Barbeque Sauce?

The lanyards have arrived!

Well...

The way I am - if I had my daughter going to her 1st Prom I might be following on a motorcycle as shown in this image below!

I remember when I first met one of my girlfriends' father (not Alicia) ...

he was sort of cleaning his hand guns on the kitchen table and one of his mean looking sons was with him.

Unfortunately, it made NO impression (or the wrong impression) on me...

I was indeed soooo INNOCENT!

I was thinking... "gee, how cool can that be - her Dad has these neat guns!"

So you see everyone... I was innocent!

It's always been the girls who were less so... as I have always been a gentleman (pirate).

OK ... I now have to go ... I don't know if I'll get my PMs here or not in Boston...

Travel Annoyance For the Day:

For each fare-paying customer, AirTran Airways will allow one (1) checked piece free of charge, with size and weight limitations. The charge for a second checked bag will be $10 when paid using Online Check-In or $20 when paid at the airport kiosks and ticket counter.

So...
I'm going to be stuck paying double the price for a second bag for our return trip. I can't really check in online via my crackberry since I don't have the ability to print boarding passes. We're spending the day at WDW after we get off the boat since our flight isn't until 8-ish. So I thought, I'll find a public library between WDW and the airport...then I remembered. It's Labor Day. How annoying.

I've never been brand loyal to an airline. I always go for price, but I am seriously considering sticking with Southest and their "No Surprise Fees" from now on.

FIL - is going to be released later on today. He has an infection -- intestininal -- and his ulcer is acting up so, he is on an antibiotic and a prescription pepcid (?).

Dh said he was extrememly dehydrated -- I told dh to remind FIL that rum & coke doesn't count as a liquid! ;)

Dh is still with FIL and is going to be the one to handle all the details.

One of the funniest things (at least ot dh & I) is last night before dh left FIL was panicked.....FIL --- *I don't have any cash on me.* :rotfl:

Dh told him not to worry that that he didn't need to tip the nurses during the night and they didn't have a bar! LOL!

Glad he is gonna be okay... your Dh is very funny... i just chuckled when i read this...

When did you buy your tickets? If it was before mid-April, you are ok (no charge for up to two bags)! Also, you can check in online even if you can't print your boarding pass. We did it last time so we made sure we got seats together. There is an option to later print tickets at the airport.

I have posted the 4 tours over on the planning thread. I put each one in its own topic. If you would just make a post on the tour you are interested in--that would be great. We were unable to get something that worked with Baru and then the city.

Diane, I have bought them at Walmart and Meigers. I am sure that Target probably has them too. The 8x10 sleeves I think usually come 1 to a pack and the other sizes 2. They run about $2 a pack. They are over with the picture frames:)

If you are going to be at MK you can go to City Hall and they will print your boarding pass for you. That is what I did for SW last year. There is also a place you can do this at Epcot, but can't remember. You may also want to check out the front desk at any of the hotels on property. One trip, I was dining at Chef Mickey's at the 24 hour mark. I slipped out to the front desk and printed my boarding pass and was back with my dining party in less than 15 minutes. Hope this helps!
