OMG Cheryl I was just going to post the same thing! She also starred in Singing in the Rain with Gene Kelly!

For a more recent film - she was the grandmother on the Disney Channel Halloweentown movies

I was trying to figure out who Tammy is :confused3 , but i recognize Aggie from Halloweentown!

On a lighter note, we just got Mickey Mail for Linda stating that May 4th would be her "hassle-free" date. Yeah....the hassles only lasted for 4 days!!! Wishing y'all better luck this weekend!

makes you wonder tho...are these people who have known for a long time that they weren't going or something just came up? I would be heartbroken to be this close and not be able to go!

People speculate and knowing this cruise will sell out first day, they will book, and that gives them the option to cruise.

They can keep that option right up to pay in full date, without penalty Bat Cats1>3, and even then thats transferable. So you have nothing to loose.

Additionally I think its a bit of the economic environment, people have other priorities for their money. Its not just the cruise, tis the flights, costs on board and those PIN's people have to fork out for.

Many people who know they are not able to go are still holding on to their cabins in hopes that DCL will make them an offer to give up their spot. Sort of like the airlines do when they are oversold on flights. Others (like me) hold on to cabins in hopes that circumstances would change. I was hoping that my parents would change their minds and cruise with us. But they didn't, so I finally canceled a few weeks ago.

Another non answer :sad2:
The website still lists Ocean Quest as 10-14 year olds and the Stack as 13-17

I doubt they'll change the web site for what seems to be an experiment just for the summer. Doing so will also add confusion, as I gather the Wonder hasn't changed - and probably more people will sail the Wonder this summer than the magic.

right now there is a cat 9 showing up6,597 for 2 people

Tis just popped up

Category 06
Deluxe Stateroom w/ Verandah $ 8,357.58

What I find interesting is that they are filling cabins in actual categories rather than just posting openings in category 12. That makes sense from their perspective - you want to fill as many cabins as possible at the highest possible rates.

I think Andrew has it - anyone with even the remotest possibility of sailing who could get a booking and spare $500 would hold on to the reservation. I expect we'll see more people drop them over the next week as they figure out it really isn't practical (the economy has worsened for many over the past year). Then there will be a flood on May 19th as those not paid for get cancelled.

The question is - how many will they lose? How much pent-up demand is there? I'm sure the folks in revenue management are awaiting the next few weeks with just as much curiosity (though they have the PIF numbers, so they probably know how things are shaking out).

My interest is, of course, highly personal - as I'm still in a GTY 11 and would be thrilled to be in at least a 10 :-)

I completely understand that poeple would book expecting/hoping that someone would be going so I understand when people have to cancel due to circumstances..I just hope people didn't book it just hoping to get a deal out of it. I feel for people who are having to book at the higher rate because of that.

JUST FOR FUN!!!!!!!!!!!

Ladies Only ... Which Movie Star Are You? This is kind of fun!

(43-50 points) You are KATHERINE HEPBURN:
You are smart, a real thinker. Every situation is approached with a plan. You are very healthy in mind and body. You don't take crap from anyone. You have only a couple of individuals that you consider 'real friends'. You teach strong family values. Keep your feet planted in them, but don't overlook a bad situation when it does happen.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :lmao:

They overbook knowing this will happen however with the Cats coming upm they must have been on the conservative side of the cancelations to get most money in they will sell at the Vacancy level, they only discount on Cat 12 on low selling cruises or close to the sail day, we are still 90 days out and its nearly full.

I think revenue management wil lbe happy as each person who cancels, they can resell at todays rates and get more income.

anyone know what famous person will be on our cruise

Mickey Mouse, he has a star in hollywood.

I don't think there would be too much of that. First, DCL does not have a history of overbooking that I know of. Second, DCL makes it very hard (if not impossible) to transfer cabins. Moving people around isn't hard as long as one of the original people remains in the cabin, but just try changing all the people in a cabin and it gets very hard.

What I do believe is that many people who could spare $500 would book a cabin hoping that they might be able to afford it in a year. So it's not quite the same as cancelling due to circumstance (where you expect to go but things come up) - more like hoping you might be able to pull it off. And others might book and hold it just to keep their options open - we had friends who booked a cabin that way and only recently released it.

I do feel for people who got stuck at a higher rate (most of us remember the chaos of that morning), but at the same time, I can't fault people for hanging on to the dream for as long as possible, and I feel even more for those who have been trying and hoping and couldn't quite pull it off.

I do agree fully, any cabin you do not want has to go back to DCL, and I have only ever read once of DCL making an offer to someone not to cruise, it was Christmas 2006, and a family were doing DCL>WDW, 7+7, instead DCL made an offer as the expected percentage of people didn't cancel, and the family did WDW>DCL New Year instead of Christmas and they were happy with the offer.

They do overbook but not by high margins.

I completely agree..I don't fault people for hanging onto a dream...and since it has been a year and a half (almost..kinda) I completely undertsand..circumstances change. I hope those that need to cancel can find another time to go.

I just heard back from the shore excursion department
The Sunset Sail is available at 6:15pm
All of these are for the PV port

I wonder if we'd have enough time to get to this after our Zipline excursion at 1:00.

:worship: :worship:

I can fit Kevin Bacon (& me!) in there:

Daniel Craig in Golden Compass with Nicole Kidman
who was married to Tom Cruise
who was in A Few Good Men with Kevin Bacon & Keifer Southerland
who was in The Lost Boys with Christopher Bowman
who was in 3 ice shows with me!

Yes, I am 3 degrees from Kevin Bacon - aren't you glad you know me??:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I didn't no that "Showman Bowman" was in the Lost Boys! I used to love watching him in his early days!
