Okay, I'll bite...how did the bunny with the pancakes thing start? I am glad it did because I really enjoy the goofy bunny pictures. So does DD3! (Well, except that one...with the human bunny...;) )

Now WHAT human Bunny are ya referrin' to....????

I think it was ANDREW....

now I gotta go before someone "hangs" da blame on me fer the BUNNY PANCAKE thing....

Don't own an MP3 player, but last song was probably Barenaked Ladies, I am a huge fan.

In copying I must have missed the "celebration" question. DH and I will celebrate our anniversary on embarkation day (17 years on the 17th!). WE are also saying that the cruise is a belated celebration of my 40th birthday (which is actually in July), but that is just us trying to reationalize the cost.

We are very much looking forward to meeting all of you!

We LOVE the Barenaked ladies too! Almost went on their cruise this past year!

I love the rationalization piece...we are celebrating a June B-day, 15th Anniversary in July, a July, August, 2 Septembers, 1 Nov. and 1 Jan. Birthday. That is why we are going on the TOAL!

Laurie it is either C5 or C6, pain is under my shoulder blade (scapula) right. I feel sorry for anyone that has to go through this. I have taken to Motrin around the clock instead of as needed (prn). I think this is helping. :cool1: I really don't want to do a course of prednisone.

Hate that stuff. Prednisone is rough.

Nope. They do look a lot alike though.

Both are full of energy, but Ian's the one who was ALWAYS WET. Fully clothed and in the pool or in the ocean. In fact, you can't tell it, but he was soaking wet in this picture. And we were right in front of the Walt Disney Theater with Ducky Williams.

As soon as I went to bed it occured to me that Pikey is Pickles and not Ian.

I tell you the way we got to know Pikey is on embarkation day there is a ship tour. Since we had never been on a a DCL cruise we took the tour. Pikey is the one who did it and there was just a small group of us. Every time we sw him the rest of the cruise he remembered us.

It's not a stupid question at all.

It means "Travellers owe a lot". It's based on one of the highlights of the cruise - the final evening standing in line at guest services when you are handed a 20 pound stack of paper and get to express one of the traditional expressions:"
"Wow, I had that many chocolate smoothies?"
"[DS]!!!, You spent $500 on video games!?!?!?"
"If only there was another day of Bingo..."

Some anthopologists suggest it means "Trip of a lifetime", a variation based on the fact that it generally takes a lifetime to pay off the credit card debt incurred during the cruise.

:thumbsup2 :lmao: :lmao:

My DW just had to take off to my MIL's house to be with her while a serviceman visits tonight.

Her wiring went berzerk tonight....nothing works or when she flips on a switch something happens somewhere else in the house. For example, she turned a burner on her stove on and a light came on the living room. Her Microwave doesn't work nor does her washer and dryer. She called the KB Homes emergency number and was told that it sounds like a ground wire got cut. I had never heard of such a thing, but it would be making me very nervous.

It's a fairly new home -- finished construction 2 1/2 years ago.

UPDATE: When the Excel energy guy came out to her house late last night, he discovered she'd lost nearly all of her power to her main breaker box. Thus, when she turned on a light, she'd get nothing, but when she turned on a major appliance, it attempted to pull more power and in the process something such as that light on the same circuit that required very little power such as a light would come on. That's at least the simplistic explanation he gave. He said this also happens fairly frequently although I had never heard of it. Good news/bad news is that they were able to run a main wire to her box as a temporary fix until they can get out and fix it. The bad news is that they won't be back out to fix it for 3 to 4 weeks. The good news is that she gets free electricity during that timeframe.

Scary stuff. We had a Florida Power worker turn off our box once as he misread the order. The bill had been paid the day before and he never checked. Well he put the thing on wrong and when he went to remove it after DH brought him the phone with his main office reading him the riot act(he was supposed to check with them before doing anything and didn't follow the rules) the box blew up in his face.:scared1: Good thing the guy was wearing glasses or he may have been severely injured. Well my condo had to send an electrician to replace the box (they don't fix what the broke) and then at 11pm they reconnected the power. Of course they had to pay for the whole bill but we knew something was wrong that am when half the house went brown and the rest still had lights. Now I pay the bills and don't wait til the last minute. Lesson learned. Never did find out if that idiot was fired or not.

I tried this rationalization with my DH - how often does one turn 45, 40 and 13? How often do you celebrate 16 years of marriage. He told me to get over it.

Barenaked Ladies rule!!!

Ok, out of context...that could be .... nevermind

I saw the Barenaked Ladies in a club in Philly long before they had a record contract (circa 1993ish).

Emu!

You should not DIS while watching the morning "news" (should be more like the morning "all that's awful"), I was watching some update in Iraq and I read "a serviceman visits" and I'm thinking "how awful to lose a family member at war."

Anyway, glad it was just her wiring.....:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

We only got a quote for the cruise on a whim, got tier 1 pricing and said "where will we every get room and meals for 15 days/nights for four of us for under ...." we would have been foolish not to go....

When Porky's was first on HBO, my parents decided that my brother and I were too young to watch it, so we had to go to bed. We snuck back down, and hid under the Christmas platform so we could watch it. (The platform was 8X8 and took up most of the living room. It went right to the door to the dining room, so we were able to crawl in unseen.) Anyway, we got to a really funny part, and I was trying not to laugh, but I lifted my head up pretty quickly. I hit it off the tip of a nail that was poking through from holding down the train tracks. My brother had his hand over my mouth so tight that I couldn't breathe, let alone yell out in pain. So we got away with it, but it was a painful experience.

So...did you ever tell your parents later?

I'm the only person on the DIS who doesn't know who these people are. I'm always amazed by all the people who seem to become BFF with their servers, stateroom attendant, CD, etc. in 7 days or less.

I guess we're just not friendly. :upsidedow

Ummm...didn't you also say your D.C. neighbors don't talk to you? ;)

Has this ever happened to anyone you know? My DW just had to take off to my MIL's house to be with her while a serviceman visits tonight.

Yes. It's on YouTube:

Seriously...Glad they safely figured it out..sounded pretty dangerous.

Okay, men, be honest.

If you were around in 1919 (just before prohibition started) and came upon the following poster.........

Would you quit drinking?

Quite the opposite....they look like Keggers to me...

Ok....Wife is listening to the Chipmunks singing Linken Park and Afroman's "Because I Got High"..... Completely disrupting my DIS time.

Emu!

had to chime in!

DH and I love BNL too!:)

they used to play Rochester NY quite often...we got to spend New Years Eve at a BNL concert one year....so much fun!!!:)

I just read the letter as DCL breaking up the ages differently. The Lab or Quest is only a home base, its not where they stay the entire trip. The kids go to the sports deck, AP for drawing, the movie theater, etc. Also each of the groups spent time in OQ in the past.

I can't see DCL giving up its signature kids programming for this age group, wouldn't be good for business.

That's what I'm hoping for too. That's why I can't wait to see the kids' Navigators from the WB repo cruise.

That's my DD8 to a "T" !

Imagineer's list of Florida Mountains. Everest is the 18th
Disney Mountain. Can you name the other 17?

Ummm...didn't you also say your D.C. neighbors don't talk to you? ;)

Ok, I guess maybe it is me.

Actually, if I'm going to do the "impress everyone on the Dis" thing a lot of people try to do on the main boards - on our last cruise the CM we talked to the most (besides our servers) was Captain Thord. We spent a lot of time with him.

That's my DD8 to a "T" !

Note to self: do not mix my DS8 and Mike's DS8. Neither one will ever be at fault.

We went to NHL All-Star game in St. Paul, MN in 2004. BNL were the opening act and did an intermission show. After the AS game, they had a private party inside this giant ICE castle built outside of the Wild's arena. You couldn't buy the tickets, it was invitation only. We were walking out of the arena and a young couple with a European accent offered their tickets to us. Temperature in the teens...snowstorm going on....Free Cider w/Rum and Irish Coffees....and BNL...Great concert!
