I'm just afraid if they don't have some computer games including wii, I'll be spending a fortune for him to hang out at the arcade! :scared:

Diane, I think enough of us have 11 y/o kids. Maybe we can convince them to let out kids in the lab if there isn't enough for the to do in quest. Or, maybe we can convince them to offer more for the quest kids. I guess we'll know in a couple of weeks how it goes for WB.

Happy Birthday and Anniversary to all we have missed

Have a great Saturday

In Tysons we usually do PF Changs or Maggianos (if we can get in). There is another one that we went to that was good and easy to get into, but I forget the name of it. It was a backup after we couldn't get into any of the other places.
Have you guys gone to Dulles air and space museum yet ? I keep trying to get into the observation tower to watch the planes, but the line is always too long:guilty:

Either of those places works for me. Haven't been to A&S Museum yet. We'll get there someday...

I thought Ian and Pikey were the same person. :confused3

I'm the only person on the DIS who doesn't know who these people are. I'm always amazed by all the people who seem to become BFF with their servers, stateroom attendant, CD, etc. in 7 days or less.

I guess we're just not friendly. :upsidedow

My DW just had to take off to my MIL's house to be with her while a serviceman visits tonight.

Her wiring went berzerk tonight....nothing works or when she flips on a switch something happens somewhere else in the house. For example, she turned a burner on her stove on and a light came on the living room. Her Microwave doesn't work nor does her washer and dryer. She called the KB Homes emergency number and was told that it sounds like a ground wire got cut. I had never heard of such a thing, but it would be making me very nervous.

It's a fairly new home -- finished construction 2 1/2 years ago.

That is really odd.

...and I've had a lot of houses!

What port are you looking the most forward to? Cartagena

Me too!
Except for maybe our Cabo excursion, I'm most looking forward to Cartagena.

maseifert or something like that i think.... or was it someone else?

Yeah, she's in VA. And a million years ago, before I moved, there was someone from Williamsburg...I think she was a dog sitter.

Gremlins?

Gremlins%201-703817.jpg

Yanno you aren' supposed to feed them after midnight, right?

Chad - he's the new CD we'll be breaking in, right? They call him Hanging Chad, 'cause he hangs around with the pax a lot?

:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Looks like a bunch of 1919 Drag Queens to me.

Well, DARN! You beat me to it! :rotfl2:

:woohoo: :woohoo:
Do you ever get the feeling our kids are going to be yelling "jinx" every time we open our mouths on TOAL??

We do that a lot!

It's not a stupid question at all.

It means "Travellers owe a lot". It's based on one of the highlights of the cruise - the final evening standing in line at guest services when you are handed a 20 pound stack of paper and get to express one of the traditional expressions:"
"Wow, I had that many chocolate smoothies?"
"[DS]!!!, You spent $500 on video games!?!?!?"
"If only there was another day of Bingo..."

Some anthopologists suggest it means "Trip of a lifetime", a variation based on the fact that it generally takes a lifetime to pay off the credit card debt incurred during the cruise.

On another point ...

I just ordered a custom made Bobble head doll of Alicia for chuckles...

Am I a little unstable or what?

Um, yeah.
I think that is too funny.

Weren't we?? :rolleyes1:rotfl: :rotfl:

You know we were!:goodvibes

I don't think we have anyone named Chad on the crew, so might be hard to hang....

Tom, somehow I think you were taking this entire exchange with an entirely different spin than any of the women . . .:rotfl2:

Good music and a "no talk" format, just a DJ spinning records with limited commercials!

Wow, that does sound great!

You mean those aren't men??

Oh my...talk about a reason to drink!

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

SOAPBOX WARNING:

Guess who was the driving force behind abolition, temprance, suffrage, mental health reform, prison reform, and oh yeah, the founding of just about every social service organization in America.

Women. Attractive or not. Political voice or not. We know how to get things done.

Absolutely! Just why couldn't those temperance women looked a little more like they knew how to make you have fun without getting drunk?:confused3

Wow, Dan, thanks for clearing up that misunderstanding!:lmao: Now it all makes sense . . .

Sounds like a bit of a haunted house to me...

Thanks to all for the BD wishes to my hubbie, Ron. The day did not end up as expected as when he went to shower for dinner (I was taking him out to a restaurant w/ the lads), we discovered that our 16+ YO water heater had died! So he and our youngest ended up spending until 2AM replacing it, and the BD dinner was take-out from Chicken Holiday! We'll do the cake and presents tonight! Gotta give him the excursion GC and the boys have pirate shirts for him!

Well...

... sorry Ron's BD was disrupted by the failing WH. Have you ever considered making up for the disrupted BD with a custom made bobble-head of him?

There is a larger than life sized one they make for $10,000 ... or perhaps this 9" one discounted at $59.95 ... the same price as the one I just ordered for Alicia. If ya got it without the rush service, plus the rerecordable voice chip it would only run you $83.45 as mine did. Most likely it would be something out of the ordinary, eh?

Since i could not find a birthday cake in the shape or design of a water heater ....
... may i simply offer this consolation prize of ...
... a Yoda cake that i was saving for the NEXT birthday event?

No Quest is pretty much it except when they did a scavenger hunt one night..
I'd be praying that they added activities if i were your kids...

I was basing my comments on fact that both club and lab move kids all over ship, including stops in OQ, Stack, etc.

OQ in the past was not a "program" place like the Club and Lab, just a place to hang. Since they are mixing ages up, I'm thinking they are running it like the Club and Lab.

If they think the kids in this age range will just hang there, they (the management on the ship) are going to have a very unhappy trip (I'm sending Cheryl after them).

Heeeeyyy....

G'Mornin' to ya Mr. Counselor...

I don't suppose you're up for a friendly little sprint to 1989, eh?

OK... I didn't THINK so... so I'm gonna slip away to rejoin my family in blissful ...

... INNOCENT slumber....

I just read the letter as DCL breaking up the ages differently. The Lab or Quest is only a home base, its not where they stay the entire trip. The kids go to the sports deck, AP for drawing, the movie theater, etc. Also each of the groups spent time in OQ in the past.

I can't see DCL giving up its signature kids programming for this age group, wouldn't be good for business.

I agree, if they are specifically breaking up the kids groups, they will have activities and events all day just like they would in the Lab. Before, the kids were also in the teen club or the lab, this was just an options. If it is the actual main area for that age group, IMHO, they will have activities all day! No worries! :)

crystal-ship.jpg

I paused to view this Andrew...

... it's pretty nice - and hoz dat fer a trip if one were ta hit da 10,000,000 pound lotto? By dat I mean da 8,000 pound per person (every time) presidential suite for 14? So is this to be taken as costing 112,000 pounds for 14 guests in say a one week sailing? Nawwww.... I think the host here has it all wrong as you could sail around the world for about 105 days on Crystal Serenity for about 100,000 pounds ... for 2 in a penthouse w/verandah after adjustment for free airfare + $2000 cabin credit + 9 complimentary shore excursions - and BEFORE a potential $10,000 discount (est. per couple) if you happen to be a Crystal Society member ... http://www.cruisespecialists.com/Cruises/crystalcruisescrystalserenityworldcruise2009.aspx

And trust me... this RCCL ship is NOooooo Crystal ship. Even if comparing a Presidential suite to a Penthouse suite on Crystal...

Which - by the way - is how Alicia wanted to splurge when I asked her about what she'd do if she / we won a lotto valued at $20,000,000 (10 million pounds)... or 10,000,000 dollars or 10,000 dollars. She indicated almost the same as I answered - with small deviations... as she had no interest in aircraft or being a pilot. However she did want to sail around the world with the kids in a 1st rate ship like Crystal. Which come to think of it - this WOULD have been a good idea... hmmmmmm,......

OK... time to slip away now...TTFN! ... and Good morning to everyone!

Was it a buuny with a pancake???? Could it be a cat???:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:
eff4d20b.jpg

Okay, I'll bite...how did the bunny with the pancakes thing start? I am glad it did because I really enjoy the goofy bunny pictures. So does DD3! (Well, except that one...with the human bunny...;) )
