Monica, you have to purchase a roundtrip ticket to use that code. I nearly had a heart attack when I saw that code right after I had purchased our tickets until I saw that it was only good for roundtrip travel.

Oh, that makes sense. I didn't read the fine print. I already have our return tickets, I bought RT tickets for September. 'Cause ya know, we have to rush back to WDW 3 weeks after TOAL :)

Thanks. Guess I won't be booking with SW. That's ok, didn't really want to anyway. In all my trips to FL, SW has never been the cheapest. I thought maybe booking on first day I might find a deal, but no such luck.

I would welcome that as well, but I was worried they may not get any lower since it is a Holiday. What do you think?

We're flying back on Weds, so there may be a chance of a Ding. If not, I can live with the $105. I didn't even check with USAir. I wouldn't fly them even if they are cheaper. I probably could have done better with AirTran, but I like SW.

All that said, I was watching for a Ding for our trip in January and we never got one. So who knows?:confused3

You said it for me. But I'm sure the Track team and other sports groups don't have this issue. Schools tend to look the other way.

Yes, I think if it is a school sponsored sport they will look the other way, but not otherwise. A girl from Lisa's Gymnastic Team qualified 4th in the Nation two years ago. She was awarded a week at the Olympic Training Facility with top coach's from around the country (I think they took the top 5 or 6 Junior Girls and Senior Girls from Level 10 Nationals). They whole trip was paid for by USAG for her and her Coach. Her High School would not excuse her. Because Florida schools were starting so early in August (late July), the camp interfered with school. She ended up going for the weekend of the week she had been awarded, but then had to return home. It was very sad for her. She has since developed health issues and can no longer compete. It is too bad this once in a lifetime opportunity was taken from her.

I just want to say a big

THANK YOU

For all of the nice wishes for

ALICE

I was reading them earlier, ( in another place), So haven't quoted them all but thanks.:thumbsup2

Got my 2008 DCL passporter today as well as a Disneyland 2008 book, and currently updating my computer with a new pro gramme, so hopefully it will............not...... Cra

That's just insane.
A million years ago I always missed at least a week of school for Nationals, and at least another week or two 1-2 days at a time for other competitions and no one ever had a problem with it. I remember that I had to take a form around to all my classes and have my teachers sign off on it.

...and quite frankly, I wasn't that good!

hope everyone is having a good friday! so far today, i've taken bottles back to the redemption place....fun fun! and also gone to the dump...even more fun!! wow...what a way to spend a day off!! LOL! oh well, hopefully now all our errands will be done today and we won't have to do anything but enjoy the sunshine tomorrow!
have a great day everyone!

It is a fascinating discussion for us "worst case scenario" types. (Did I mention my DW calls me "Mr. Worst Case Scenario?")

Have you read the worst case scenario books (what to do if bitten by a shark, how to jump out of a building, etc.)? They are addictive . . .

You really know how to party!

How is Lauryn feeling today?

I'm good as long as I'm on the Sam Adams side of the country.
:)

Let's see, so far today...eathquakes, fires, hail. Anyone have any locusts to report?

Well, on the main Disney World board I keep running into threads discussing that the "love bugs" are back and swarming, so does that count, for Arlene or someone??????

Mmmmmm, Sam Adams . . .:drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1

Well, that is all fine and good but I need something really useful like....."What to do if you want to book Palo and DCL has not decided theme nights" Find me that book, will ya?

Well, I just checked to Pirate Zone and I didn't see Job listed with the crew.
So that's good.

You know that Tom31B's real name is Job, right? He just uses Tom to throw us off the trail of his true identity . . . perhaps if he covered up a few of the details in his signature we wouldn't have figured it out . . .

Yeah, there are several "banned from the Dis for life" responses there.

I know . . . I kept thinking of things to say and then thinking I'd better not:sad2:

Hi Gang,

T.G.I.F. !!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!
I'm on my way to go on a field trip w/DGS's 1st grade class - to a fire house. I get to have all the fun!!
We're also going to DL on Sunday - taking Matt & a couple of his friends -
I'll bring back some more maps of DL & CA.
I'll try to stop in at chat tonight - try anyway!!

Hi, Chris! See you in less than 4 months now!

Well, this might be useful for you since it is how we feel when we book Palo for the wrong night . . .

I'm amazed.....there are so many "smarties" on this cruise. Makes me feel safe because if we end up marooned on a deserted island, we will have a coconut radio in no time!

Good thing it's not a 3 hour tour.

Military parlance for Meals Ready to Eat, which of course is wrong on three counts, you would never serve them as a meal, they can be quite awful, ready- well, they are like twinkies, they never go bad... And "eat", if you love pounds of salt...

These aren't quite as bad as the ones we had back in the late 60's

I have the Worst Case Scenario Survival Handbook right here next to my desk...

20/20 will be debunking tornado myths tonight....

Are those standard issue for goverment employees?
Lunch is over, have a great weekend everyone. I'm sure Cheryl will be in chat tonight, After we get home from the movies. I think we are doing Forgetting Sara Marshall. She is already there doing some early screen checks.

Ticket alert

For those of you who asked about 5 day DL tickets:

I asked the representative and she said in the 2 years she's been doing this I'm the first person to ever ask for 5 day tickets! What's wrong with these people around here?

Anyway, she said if I can give her a count of how many I'd like, she'll call her Disney rep and see what she can get me.

So for those of you who want 5 day hoppers, please PM me with how many you need adult and child and I'll have her get me the price. This will not be an obligation to buy. I just need to let her know how many we're hoping for.

Hi Monica. I was just coming on here to let you know that I found a website through my work where I can order DL tickets. I know the 4 day was the same as what you listed. They have 5-day passes for $185, which sounds good to me.:confused3 And they only charge $5 to ship the order. So I'll probably go through them so I can just use my debit card and have them delivered right to me. But I really appreciate you looking into this for us.
